How do Tyranids create new from biomass? All I can find is they melt any creature or plant down to a soup of biomass and then use it. Never found the how part. I can find that there's a certain type(forgot name now) that lays the new and decides how they will look etc, but just can't find much on the how of it and I'm curious especially with the ships cos the "mother" Tyranids are aboard the ships that are created by them
I really like the idea that the Tyranid see everything else as empty or soulless as even an entire galaxy of souls is nothing compared to the hive mind. Especially since most of the time the Tyranid are described as soulless whe in reality they have the greatest soul of all.

Now I have a new perspective on Tyranids. They are not only representative of destruction but also a distorted, extreme version of Darwinism.

Like every sci fi plague ever. They assimilate the genes of everything they consume. (Like the xenomorphs, the flood from halo etc)
Weak die strong survive its not some facist neo nazi hatred or anything its just abrule of the ubiverse every planet with life will go through natural selection and through competiton between new life forms for limited resources such as food suitable breeding grounds, dens, mates, rival predators species another competitors ext new selective pressures will be imposed on life even at sapient stage this become true in scales of civilizations the ones that adapted and change fastes to the needs of new power balamce and worlds political situation alomg with advancment speeds get the best positions in country hiearchys in the world

I appreciate the irony in that THEIR perspective is that they are the only form of intelligent life. All other is effectively gross “inanimate” organisms…as we generally consider plants to ourselves.

I like the idea of the Tyranids being a contingency measure created by the old ones to essentially act as a back up of all life in the galaxy, by consuming and archiving all DNA, to save it from, and also destroy the Necrons.
It's insinuated that the destruction of the Pharos beacon, a Necron artifact, acted as a signal to enact the plan
I fell like that would sort of ruin the fun Imo I like the idea of a horror that is from so far away that they become unknowable and how extremely alien they are to all other species in the galaxy
In headphones the voice is so grating and overpowering that it feels like what I'd imagine conversing with a Tyranid Hive Mind would be. Their voice pressing in on your head. Grating, slightly painful and just overpowering. Immersion is 100% on this one and I can't tell if its a good or bad thing.

Death is all I have to you offer you my friend, I do love fighting them, some of my best battles have been against Tyranids, I also recently watched a game of Tyranids vs Orks I really enjoyed them slamming into each other. Tyranids won. Their flying units are just murderous
God i love this video, it's so good and really puts into perspective how much of a threat Tyranids are. They're not animals with some vague distant Hivemind. The Hivemind is an eldritch abomination, a god in it's own right. Even Chaos itself is easier to comprehend than Tyranids. Tyranids cannot be reasoned with, there is no innate humanity nor reason to appeal to. Tyranids are just what they are, they are the embodiment of the Imperium's fear of the xeno

I would love for a book following a detachment of guard/marines who fight off a splinter tendril which used swarm tactics, only for them to pursue it and it completely alters tack, like suddenly there are no gaunts, only rank after rank of highly specialised warriors, I think it'd be a cool demonstration of the nids' adaptability
I think I remember reading some lore about just that. I cant remember who they were fighting but the Hivemind figured that swarms of weaker Tyranids wouldn't work so it just pumped out an army of big ones instead.

Atleast for it's own Hive Fleet. I think the various swarms are like their own versions of Chaos God's. Each Hive Fleet technically allied but also working to further itself even if it is at the expense of other Tyranids.

Weird idea: with both faction's fascination with life, death, biomass, and unity, I'd really like to see Tyranid Daemons of Nurgle. Not entirely sure if that would be lore-friendly but I mean, just imagine, a swarm of Tyranids blessed by the undying fortitude of Grandfather Nurgle that spread deadly plagues that melt all lifeforms down to biomass goo where they stand.

More or less, what ended up happening was, the tyranids finally ended up defeating nurgle's forces on a planet that was infected, right?
A Hive ship began to consume the biomass on the planet and visibly shuddered, and the other Hive ships turned on it and destroyed it to prevent the spread of infection.
This is absolutely the correct vibe that the tyranids should have. Really reminds me of The Things, by Peter Watts. A genuinely alien entity that cannot comprehend things like individual identity or impermanence.
The atmosphere of these videos is insane like the sound quality is superb.
We gaze upon the pinnacle of natural selection and feel the terror such a title rightly bestows.

Nice, amazing video, amazing voice. In the beginning after watching your first videos I wanted you to make a darker toned imperium video, from the pov of ecclesiastical fanatic. While I‘d still like to see something like that, hearing what your voice is capable of in the mechanicum videos and now the tyranid one I cant await to hear what voice you give to the necrons or different chaos factions. I hope this doesn’t read like a request, just do what you are passionate about, so far I liked everything you came up with and loved some so that I have watched them 10+ times.

Great video! However I think that if Tyranids were to talk to us they will likely use singular terms. To us each creature is to be counted separately, but for the Hive Mind most likely isn't the case.
This was absolutely disturbing! Excellent work 👍. Really shows that there are two sides to every coin. The galaxy views the Tyrannids as a destructive force bent on devouring all life, while the Hive mind of the Tyrannids thinks of itself as the only sure fire way for life to continue throughout the universe

I can imagine this as Librarian Tigurius peers into a hive mind, or maybe a sermon in a genestealer cult. This was very immersive and helped build a new perspective.
A while ago I was thinking that other fantasy games always tend to have a Nature/Life faction. Druids, Dryads, Treants, beasts/animals, green foresty themes etc. I was wondering why 40k didn't have a nature faction, only they do.
In the typical grimdark fashion that 40k does best, Tyranids are the FUCKING nature faction.
I've always wondered if they're coming to our galaxy or running from something into our galaxy luckily you brought that up in one of your recent videos 👍🏽

i would love to have this perspective (if we could just have the point of view of the tyranids themselves instead of the kryptman view or others) and a deeper view of the tyranid hive in the future edition.
For me my perspective of the tyranids is either this, those nematodes from SpongeBob, or the seagulls from Finding Nemo

The thing with the Nids is they will never stop coming. I love they are written to be more than space bugs. But instead are an endless host that projects a shadow so vast and dense that it can drive whole systems insane with fear.
When a Genestealer cult begins to attack the populace of the Imperial Guard and suddenly the bodies of both Genestealers and humans start to mutate and rise. Te He, Marker goes "MAKE US WHOLE AGAIN!!!" I want to see if a Tyranid Hivefleet can go against a Breathren Moon without eatting it and risking infecting half the Hivefleet with Necromorph DNA. What do you think Warrior?
I think you’re onto something here Jack! The hive have a bad habit of eating everything in their path! They would probably consume first, asks questions later.
I have another speices that maybe more of the bane of the Tyranids than the Necromorphs. There's this Movie called 'The Stuff' and yes that's even the of the product sold in markets. Now the Stuff is a parasite that looks like 'Ice Cream' and self replecates by either slowly by itself or being consumed by humans even a dog had eatten it and had the same effects on humans. At first when you take just a bite of the Stuff it tastes good and you would probably would like to eat more later, but after eatten it enters the brain without being acttualy digested through the blood stream, theortically the Stuff might start jabbing the pleasure section for more stuff or hypnosis IDK to eat more of the stuff. And Then that's whan your screwed as you just everything you eat will be the Stuff and the stuff is above else it will either colonize in your body, when threatened and in groups of those infected with the Stuff will eject the Stuff in order to mass up and attack as a single entity to choke others with itself to death or even if you do survive the Mass itself you would of already ate enough stuff to under it's control. Now imagine if Tyranids ate this 'Stuff'.
This video feels like it gives a voice to the tyranids. because all the other videos make it seem like a report from the imperium Perspective.

Somehow I've always thought that the hive mind understands everything at so many levels. The tyrannids itself are mindless beasts, but that supreme mind it's probably capable of develop some kind of philosophy. Scary
I remember reading a short story about "the thing" called the things. It describes assimilation as "the communion" and humans as decaying husks and now my head canon has the thing as a tyranid bioform...

In my mind, the tyranids and xenomorphs are somehow related. Like the xenomorphs are the precursors to the tyranids after millenia of constant, supercharged evolution.

The shootas game captured the feel of orks pretty good how exactly would one do a game for the bugs? 🤔 maybe a 4k big picture game? Where you control the whole of the hive and show its big picture movements and goals… mainly growing and fighting off the Necros

Yeah if it was ever a choice between a Hive Fleet and jumping naked into the den of a Keymind. Which is itself a further evolution of a Flood Gravemind. I'm jumping stark naked into that Keymind Den 100%! Mainly cuz I just have a beyond massive fear of being eaten alive by anything. So if I'm jumping naked into a Keymind's Den it'll probably be the Flood Spores that get me not the Fleshy Party Poppers. But also because at least with the Flood and a Keymind in particular. There's at least ample evidence in Halo's Lore that the essence of one's consciousness survives on some level. With the Spess Locusts however that's most definitely not that case by any stretch of anyone's imagination.

If this was made cannon that somehow a psycher got this from the shadow in the warp or an inquisitor got this from a hive tyrant's brain hooked up to a speaker box.
This would fix everything I dislike about the bugs. I like the zerg more as they have a motive and belief more complex than "I'm a bit peckish."
This gives the Tyranids a belief, a motivation, and a goal.
The only thing I'd change after that is cutting back on the tongue hanging down to the knees in every piece of art.
A deep space prove pass through the swarm and horrified we discover the truth, they are running away from something worse.
