Cog Hill Farms puts a hair tie on each spigot. When he turns it on he puts the hair tie around his wrist to remember to shut it off.
Great idea!!!! I should have done that the time I wasted tons of water while on vacation for two weeks .
I didn’t know I had a leak at the water outlet on my house .. the water hose was turned off at the sprayer end , which stayed by the green house , but water had poured out at the back of my house .
The wooden patio was soft and green of algae when I came home.
I was so worried about my water bill that when the time came to read the meter for the year ( New Year’s Eve..) I was literally nauseous and unwell..
luckily I had under used for many years. So I didn’t have to pay extra🥳
( we pay a set amount every year , and have to pay extra if we use too much.. )
I was obviously adamant I had shut it off before I left 😢
Now I’m putting a hair tie on the tap outlet thingy… thanks !!
I love when Jason realizes he still has a band on his wrist. 💕😊
That is one big baby. Meg looks great!
😊 I was thinking the same thing
Yes he does and it seems it has worked really well.
I don't think I could admire a couple anymore then I do you two!! God bless
So ready to meet the new baby and see little buggy snuggle 😍 💕. Meg is absolutely beautiful. Sending the family love ❤️ and hugs.
I screamed at my plants today “GROW” then I laughed. Thanks friends 😝
Planted onions today. GROW!
Planted three trees on the weekend. Watered them again yesterday…’Grow little trees’ as I walked away. 😂❤
Lol , I did the same with my garden , I said GROW , my husband looked at me like I was crazy
I also yelled GROW to my new plants LOL. Thanks Buggy❤️
So cool Meg that you rein Ben in on projects. My husband always says, “I could make that or do that” and now that we are in our mid 60’s he is finally listening. You two are such a good match! And you have a fantastically beautiful family. Thanks for sharing your lives with us!
I pray 🙏 for you to not have a very painful birth and that you bring another beautiful baby into this world love you guys and can't wait to see the new baby ❤️
Hope it's another girl!
Yes, please, another girl!!
I hope Farmers Friend sees this video! Meg did a better show and tell than anyone else I’ve seen. I’ve been trying to figure out how it hooked to the wire. Thanks y’all. 😊
It would be great if they sponsored a video and gave you free products for life.
Meg looks like she is ready to pop any day . Wishing you well and happy days ahead .
I love windchimes so much. I used to have a big set that were turned to the bells at one of the famous ancient cathedrals in Europe, and they gave me so much pleasure. I truly believe that it is as important to have the things that feed your soul as much as it is the things that feed your body.
So happy the chimes are back and they sound amazing. I'm a wind chimes freak! Amazing stuff to watch today Thanks beautiful family 💕
I am a wind chimes freak as well😅!!
Buggies hair is getting so long! Very pretty! Also Meg your baby bump is adorable! But I’m pretty sure you are about ready for baby to be here! Love you guys!😊🙏💜
I love ALL The Hollar Homestead videos!
I love when people use the phrase "Bits and Bobs". Last year a mama cat dumped two of her week old babies on my property and I named them Bits and Bobs! They are an absolute joy :)
Your house must be filled with meooows & lots of joy!!
It's British term
I love when you do "just real life" wind chimes are mother nature singing!!
buggy is always with you... and love that, she's the next farmer. i have 2 follower daughters
A wind chime that holds a resonant tone you can feel is more valuable than $$$. Your is absolutely beautiful (even over my cellphone). Gorgeous.
Buggy can tell the baby. "Hey, l used to sit on your head when you were in mommy's tummy" lol. So adorable.
You are all so awesome can’t wait to see new baby! Love all the projects you’re involved in, Meg you look beautiful
There is nothing like home grown tomatoes!
I love wind chimes too and have several. Yours has a wonderful rich sound. Well done. Love it.
Waiting for Mama's hatching❤...Bless you all and prayers for an easy delivery and quick recovery.
Amen
Buggie is really coming into her own so dang cute hugsss
I have a huge garden. My daughter has a huge garden. We installed a drip line in her garden and in my garden. The best investment I ever made 70 years old standing out there trying to water as a female is really hard in south Texas. You’re gonna love it. You’re gonna add more. I tried the soaker hoses from Lowe’s not worth the money happy you got them gonna make your life easier.
Soaker hoses rot too fast.
Buggy is getting soooooo tall!❤
Great job on the wind chimes. Thank you. Blessings
On Baby watch...
is it time??
@@ardenpeters4386 yes.. May, so anytime
Yep, we are all checking on Momma. Totally love yall, really starting to change my ways here..
Prayers for fun and loving and safe delivery.
Ben I just watched living traditions homestead install a drip line. He said the holes on the line needs to be upwards. It lets you know if system has problems. Happy gardening.
It just keeps getting better and better! What a team!
Goodness, that greenhouse is gonna look like a true forest with potatoes, tomatoes 🍅 & trees that fell perfectly in place. Can’t wait to see it 🤩👵🏻👩🌾❣️
Having beautiful music just adds another dimension of joy to the homestead! 😊
Tomatoes in the greenhouse with the new drip system is awesome! The system looks so easy for watering and tying up the plants. Windchimes are a tradition at our house. We home senior dogs and when one passes, a group of dear friends have a windchime made with their name on it. I have 8 hanging in and around my small greenhouse. The are mostly out of the way but if I happen to brush by, I know, my tone, which dog is looking down on me.
Wow! Our new Hollar baby is bigger than Mommy!!! Meg u look amazing! I can't wait to meet Buggi's new best friend Love Bug!!!
Good afternoon beautiful people.
Your potatoes look beautiful. Having a water system will make a difference in the plants, and help you out. There's no having to water in a warm high tunnel.
Congratulations on the new water feature and putting your tomatoes in the ground , Meg you are a wonder getting down so low.Wishing you a speedy birth and easy recovery ..God Bless and keep you all..Amen
Bet you felt great achieving so many projects that will produce and help so much.
The farm/bird sounds bring back fabulous memories. Thank you!
Love the wind chimes
Meg, u r just glowing!! U r just a beam of sunshine....great smile
OMG Meg that Baby Boy is right out front and personal not long now. I am so proud of you both everything is looking wonderful.
she does look boy doesn't she?!!
Boy? I was hoping that Buggie (and Tyler, Corbin, Brett and Jack) were getting a little sister. A healthy Mama and baby are really what I'm hoping for.
@@sharoncochran8508they don’t know yet but I think it’s a girl!
Does it look like twins ? 😊@@debbiebeckstead9268
Ben, love the Winchime especially the sound. I know i keep saying this but, another interesting informative video. Meg good buy for the tomato hooks and yes sometimes its less stressful to buy then to make.
I've said before Meg not much longer before the baby is here.
Blessings to you and the family. 😊🇺🇲
Love the wind chimes!❤
Looks good in the greenhouse!
We have watering faucets and hoses all over our property. And we too have forgotten and left them on before. So I purchased some of the stretchable spring coil things (like for holding keys) I marked each one to indicate each water faucet and hung one on each faucet. So now each time we use one we remove the coil thing and place it on our wrist. That serves as a reminder to go turn it off and replace the coil back on the faucet. Can’t tell you how many times we’ve caught ourselves leaving water on with this system. Works for us!
Ben, there isn’t anything you can ‘t do. I love your wind chime you made. Sounds beautiful. The two of you work so well together. Meg, I hope you have your baby soon. Maybe another little girl? Love you and your whole family .❤❤❤
The wind chimes sound lovely!
I hate to say it, but the wind chìmes just drive me around the bend! My brain winces away.
I used to be a landscape designer and I also designed the irrigation systems. Toro was my favorite company. They always had quality products. You made a good choice.👍🏻
Meg out there working that baby out
Megs my hero. I couldn’t do all this while I was pregnant but I had preeclampsia so that played a part
That drip system is going to make your lives much easier and less water use 👌👌
That watering system is going to save you so much time. I love the hooks for attaching the tomatoes to the wire. 💕💕🌻🌻
Thankyou. Love a mixed vlog ❤
Meee too right?
I wish you guys wouldn't give up on growing Luffa. The video "How to Process Green Luffa" has the tips your family could use to get a successful batch.
Nice wind chime. And the tomato trellis is great.
I was just sure the new baby had arrived, we’ll all be waiting to meet your new bundle of joy, the tomato plants look awesome, it’s so good to see y’all again!
The best sound from your windchime. Love it. worth every minute spent making it and restringing it.
That's why I can't find one of them wind chimes, because you made it, I love the sound of it 👍
I REALLY LIKE to watch you make do with what you have and / or create something to help you around the homestead. - especially the wind chime - I have 5 outside, 3 inside.
Diane, he put the holes facing up because of hard water. The holes will get clogged if you have hard water & they are facing down
I adore wind chimes! Those sound beautiful, Ben! I just hung mine up for the season also. ✨️🎶✨️
Ya mag has dropped a lot
I have one of those ladders!!!! Love it, it has the leveling legs on it, as a 60 year old woman, it’s the only ladder I trust to climb!!
i love the smell of planting tomatoes its a pungent aroma that makes me happy hugsssss
Watch out people here comes the Hollars
Make sure you put the drip part facing up so minerals won’t clog them from your well water. 💧 speaking from experience 😄
I love your videos. Ben you look so much happier and healthy having you own homestead. Meg you are a great mom and wife. I’m amazed at the meals you make and keep the household moving. I’m so excited to meet your new baby. All of your children are so sweet and polite. Keep the videos coming.
Beautiful tomato planting❗️getting everything in order so Meg can relax and have the baby💜 be sure to rest Meg🦋
Meg I just noticed that you are carrying this baby just like you carried Buggy. I am thinking you may have another girl. None the less you are such a beautiful woman and I so enjoy watching you in the kitchen. I used to bake a lot but not any more. I miss it!
Buggy....already farm smart. How cool is that?!
According to our instructions, the emitters are supposed to be facing up for some reason so that the water flows up and around the tubing. It actually helps so you can see if it’s flowing properly.
Wind chimes add beauty and interest.
Tomato Day is the BEST day! Love the windchime!
I kept laughing as Ben was setting the irrigation as I recently watched a big channel and the guy was all precision and Ben is always:"That's about right." Love seeing Meg still very much easy moving, you're a champ, girl!!! Did Buggy yell GWOW!!!!?
I’m also a machinist. 25 years and counting. Saw a wind chime like that at the local nursery the other day for $625 😳 and I thought… jeez I could make that in like an hour using scrap material.
💕💗💕🙏🙏🙏 Love the sound of your windchimes. Glad you have a drip system in your greenhouse, that will save you a lot of time, and the plants 🌱🌱🌱 are going to thrive. The tomato trellising system looks like a great idea, too! Have a blessed week, in The Lord Jesus Christ.💕💗💕
Darn, forgot to hit the comment button and lost my comment. I'm so glad you're putting in a new watering system and a new trellising system for you tomatoes! I'm so excited for you. You got the dripline put in really well. It's great that you're doing this before you plant the tomatoes. It didn't look super hard. I like how you left the big hose long in case you want to do something differently! Toro brand name of drip line. Thanks for letting us know. Thank you Cheryl for getting Ben an inline hose timer! I love the new trellis system. That trellis is fantastic. I love those clips! I'm glad that you bought them instead of bending them all. Meg is great to save you from that work. Moving the trellis line over means another row of tomatoes! That's great that you re-strung that wonderful wind chime. Thanks for showing us how you did it. I'm sure you'll enjoy the sound all summer long! Those tomato starts look so good! Kudos to you guys! They look so great all planted! Thanks for this video Hollar family!
Things have changed so much in the way we farm from the 50's and 60's. I would much rather have the newer technology if for little else than the sore aching muscles. Growing tomatoes is soo much easier
Gorgeous planting of the green house. ❤😊
Absolutely beautiful wind chimes! Love the sound! So peaceful! Love your tomato set up! Hope to have that someday when I have a greenhouse! Your greenhouse looks fantastic!
A couple of the garden channels I watch says you have the emitter holes on the tape, up. If any diet gets in, it settles on the bottom of the irrigation tape, so if the emitter holes are on the bottom, they get plugged. Seems wrong to put them up, but it does work. 😊👍 Happy growing!😊❤🌸
Thanks for sharing your progress & the nice visit with your family! Blessings to all 🤗🇨🇦
The greenhouse is going to look really cool this year.
Boy, you ever make windchimes you've got many many customers! I'll be the first one! Beautiful sounds...great job Ben!
I like how you alternate between inside and outside projects for best use of your time. It's something I had to do to avoid melting in the heat. The windchime sounds soo good!
That wind chime sounds wonderful!
Hope the addition build is coming along.
that is done ! now Meg can have the baby!
I bought plastic clips that do the very same thing to attach the tomato to the string and they don't slide. But it was the string that was held tight in a little notch. One downside was, sometimes the tomato will slide through the clip, the clip never moves, but the tomato stem will. The ones you have hold the stem and the wire... sounds good to me.
I'm a little green with envy on the greenhouse... I really wish to have one... but for now I will enjoy watching the progress you make doing some gardening inside of yours! :)
LOL I find the wind chime thing funny. I saw that they were tied together when you were showing the water timer thing and thought, wow finally got tired of hearing that thing bang. Love you guys!
Buggies reminds me as a child. Barefooted. Lol
I redid all my chimes with chains ..drop chain down pipes and shove a screw or peice of wire through side holes to hole chain in..works great no more restricting chimes
Wind chime repair is totally necessary!
Living traditions Homestead just did a very informative video on drip tape set up. But looks like you got it all figured out, of course 😊
I'm hoping to get mine set up this year too! I bought it last year, but procrastinate everything 🙄
Fold the line twice at the end and pull it will hold so much better
Oh that's Beautiful wish I had lived like u are Ian from Asheville God Bless
Thanks for letting us visit
