Watched this first thing this morning and thought “that’s funny- how could you leave a washer out” Got home from work just now and installed a set of RGT scales on my Native 5, admired the nice new build and then…. glanced across at a lone washer sitting on the work mat. As Homer Simpson once said- “D’oh!!!”
Great walk through. I just received my Aztec Teal 🩵AWT in the mail and with you video I swapped them onto a Magnacut blade that had yellow 🟡 LW scales and I didn’t like the feel of the FRN and this didn’t carry it. Absolutely love the knife now and feel like this will entice me to carry it much more now. ❤
Looks so good man. Might have to get me a native now. I bought one as a Christmas gift for my father in law with the s90v and fluted carbon fiber. Feels pretty good with the CF but now I guess I need one in either magnacut or maxamet . Love the feel of the AWT’s on my Manix.

My OCD would have literally made going to have made going to sleep tonight a little more difficult lmao, I got set of AWTs in armor black coming in the mail for my Native 5 salt. Love how Spidies are so easy to strip down and reassemble. Thanks for the instructional vid. Spydie love.
Finally an option for Native 5 without having to find new old stock real knives. The FRN are nasty and there are no so the knife if used gets sticky. I can now get a MagnaCut version. You forgot the second washer.

I'll take my gold star. 😁 I'm with you on the edges. The first thing I did on mine was take it apart and ease the edges inside and out. It made a big difference in the feel.
Sweet ass scales brother, cant wait till they get more in stock , I was laughing when u put it together 1st time without the washer but at least it was easy to fix
I get a gold star😜 Those definitely improve the knife aesthetics. Very nice. Would it be beneficial to only put oil between the washer and the blade, and not between the scale and washer? My thought is that way, the washer eventually seats, and the only surface sliding is the blade. My Native 5 is a blacked out version, and I’ll be selling it, as it’s a bit too small for my hands for an EDC. The Para 3 is a perfect small EDC. I think many knife companies are missing the boat on replacement scales. They could literally double, maybe even triple their profits.
I dunno, maybe. I’ve always lubed both surfaces. It would be worth a try for sure. Theoretically it makes sense. Well if the Native 5 is a little too small but you like the profile, the Shaman will be right up your alley. It’s just an enlarged version of the Native 5. You really oughta get one!
All the body screws need too be a little loose. Well with frn anyway. First time I took one apart the screws were crazy loose😳 I couldn’t believe it, and I tightened them up and it was too tight. Loctite then loose👍🏻
I got 2 of those. One in Teal one in Sunrise. The teal is perfect. The sunrise is can barely tighten my screws. Blade wont budge until the pivot screws almost fall out… Need to reach out to AWT
Easy way the Native V would find more pocket time. But... $100 is nearly as much as the knife itself and more than I got it for through the community secondary so that's a bit of a value call there. Still that takes away nothing from how cool the scales are!
I was wondering why you only put one washer on...i was like, Doodys gonna get it put back together then realize he forgot the other washer and have to take it back apart again. I was right.
I just got these same scales and followed your video to do the assembly. Do you notice any side to side blade play while the knife is closed? Can’t figure out why mine has it and what I can do to fix it.
@@doodysdaggers Thanks for the info man. It was scraping the sides when I would open it due to how much blade play it had while closed, so i took it apart and rebuilt it and it’s a bit better now. Guess I’ll just have to be cautious of that when opening going forward.
Oh I took it apart all right. Lol. I found, and maybe you’ve noticed too, if you put the slightest amount of pressure on the lock it has a wiggle up and down. Use a fist grip and try it out. It’s not the end of the world but my OCD can’t handle it. Lol. It’s just too bad because they are soooo awesome!! Thanks for the reply brother!! Awesome vids!

A little, but it takes a lot to scrape the coating off. Like dropping it on concrete maybe

The origin scale is way too ugly compare to its performance.
