We wrapped up the race with a great day of racing on the Magnificent 7 trails just north of Moab. Syd put the hammer down again and finished off the weekend with a solid 5th place on the day and 5th place overall. It was a great experience and now we're even more excited for BC Bike Race in July. With this type of event, it seems, this format works well. I enjoyed the content and the format consistency between episodes. I could feel the near-the-end-of-race an"tension"pation.

This was such a cool video series! Loved meeting the other "characters" and watching everyone have a great time. Also, nice job on video editing - very cool and watchable.
What did I think of this style? Phenomenal. It was like a reality show, but actually real. :-) I hope you do something similar at the BC race, because I couldn't wait for the next episode of this format. Let's face it...there are so many amazing riders out there, that watching POV footage can only go so far to keep people entertained. It's smart to branch out, and find something new. Great job with this, and looking forward to the next one!
For some reason....with the Hero 7 chest mounted, despite having more movement than on a chin guard, it wasn't bad at all. I know you would never wear a full face for something like that anyway, but I was pleasantly surprised at the POV footage stability, and I know how much better that is than dealing with gimbals!
Sorry guys, but we have xc marathon that is 56 km(35 miles) with 1500m(1491 ft) of ascent here in Slovenia and I do it with my all mountain/enduro bike in about 5 hours. :) I normaly ride 40 km(25 miles) with 2300+m(7500+ miles) in a day so it's not one hill too many. But I do root for you guys and good job, love your videos!

This trilogy was great to watch. Found you guys trying to learn some bike maintenance. Now you are on my subscribed list.
Hope you see this and realize even your older videos still encourage newer / returning MTB riders.
Tip for stage races, watch out for day four. Everyone hits bottom on this day due to depleted energy stores and mental fatigue. So plan your tapering around this day to still be somewhat fresh and have something left to make up time

Great format for race coverage. Race videos are the best videos, but this was another notch above! Well done, 5th for a first time stage race sounds pretty darn good to me, marriage still healthy is a huge win for everyone! I like your videos but this series was by far my favorite!!! That course looks like tons of climbing and that sandy road and uphill on Gemini Bridges coming back is brutal, I can only imagine even more so after 3 days of racing! Congrats!!!

Was wondering what tires did you use there at that race? Your racing parts sure brought back so many great racing memories for me!! So miss mtnbike racing!! BUT I can still ride my recumbent trike, beats the couch!
We were running Vittoria Agarros on the front and Mezcals in the back

Curious if the weather is expected this time of year. Seeing as so early in the year at elevation I'd expect cold and snow. Also, what is the cost of the 3 day event to race. I went to look up and it is ready for next year but no pricing yet. Thanks and hope to do this next year.
Moab tends to be REALLY hot in the summer which is why they did it so early. The weather wasn't expected, but wasn't totally unexpected either. It can go either way that time of year. Price-wise, we think it was around $400 but aren't sure because they comped our entry.

Hi Guys!!! minute 7:10dit she dump plastic trash on te trail?
I tossed my water bottle but our coach was there to pick it up (it's reusable). I was a little delirious so that's why it ended up in the bushes but he found it haha. This is pretty standard for aid stations -- you toss before so that you have a free hand to get the hand up.

Excellent series - really enjoyed it! Question: Given this isn't your usual style of racing, and that you were "staying with your wingwoman." how much faster do you think you would have gone/or placed were you solo?
We were discussing that and think I probably would have been somewhere in the top 20, possibly top 15.
@@sydandmacky Interesting. How much were you holding back during the race to stay with her? Did you finish feeling like it was more just a ride than a race?
I was probably at 75% or so. It was definitely harder than just a ride but wasn't race pace for me.
