      I have had customers before that said they've lived this long not needing the coins so it should go to someone that needs the money. He wasn't hurting without every penny.
      There are people out there that would "throw away" their money that way.
      Not everyone is cold and heartless.

    honestly if your going to put 100 dollars worth of coins into the coinstar system, you might as well just get the coin roll ups from the bank and cash it there.

  • @baitinplace5915
    @baitinplace5915 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Coinstar does provide a service for a pretty hefty fee it's best if you just take your time and roll them yourself

    • @bbcoinsinc
      @bbcoinsinc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I agree, anything except pennies I roll and take them to the bank. If I'm taking $25 worth of pennies and I can use the gift card with zero fee and get full face value I use the machine instead. It was nice when the banks back home had machines that counted all coins at no charge.

    • @sparticus214
      @sparticus214 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What if you just smuggle them into your bank little by little if you deposit $25 then deposit it later with 20 nickels and 30 Pennie's .

      True. I spent an hour rolling up all my change from my tips after a year at Subway... $76.72 was my total in only coins. Took it to the bank, and they put it into my account! I'd much rather roll them myself than lose part of that cash to a machine..

    Why not just take it to the bank? Sure some banks only take rolled change, some have a coin counter and don't require it rolled. I mean if you're already getting out to use the coin star, why not just go to the bank instead and get all of it?

    • @bbcoinsinc
      @bbcoinsinc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Where we used to live we could bring in a bucket of loose coin, and they would run it thru a huge coin sorting machine, get the total, and ask us did we want cash or deposit it free of charge. When we moved to another part of the country we were shocked to find out they didn't offer that, and only took rolled coin up to $25. Now some banks here are offering free machine counting up to $25, if you have an account. But a box of anything but pennies will exceed that, so then they charge a higher fee than even Coinstar! So, we try to find way to use them or cash them in that won't include a charge, for ourselves and for our viewers. Hope that clears it up? J&B

    • @chudwig
      @chudwig 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TD Bank removed their coin machines due to a class action lawsuit. These machines are not 100% accurate in the coin counting and they got sued, so they just removed them all. Now I'm back to having to use coinstar and hoping they still have Amazon gift e-card options.

    boycott coinstar people! charging you money for using legal tender is a crime. imagine if someone wanted to be payed off every time you used change to pay exact at the grocery store, and every time they counted your bills. banks are designed to handle and count money, and they too want to charge you money to convert your legal tender. it is absurd. the audacity.. imagine if they charged you simply for using money. coins have a 15% tax, cash has a 10% tax, debits and credits... get your heads out of your asses... this needs to be banned and made illegal. our grocery stores have change return machines, they can count your change for free.

    a better way to save money is to buy a couple of hundred coin counting machines, and then you just let people get the exact amount of change they put in. yeah!!! Just pay for the machine, pay the grocery store to let you put the machine on their floor, and listen to and understand the people who want to get exactly what they put in there. No income whatsoever for your investment!! No brainer!!

    Umm...I really thought this was going to be some trick, hidden button or pressing a sequence of buttons that would allow you to deposit your coins, elect to receive back cash, and not pay the fee.
    Anybody who uses the machine just once, AND looks over the various cash out options, will see the eGift Card selection and that it does not charge you anything.
    Sorry, I guess this is helpful for some (IMO, helpful to those who can’t focus for 10 consecutive seconds and see the various choices, or helpful to those who are just lazy, or let’s face it, a bit on the dumb side. This was a waste for me (can’t wait for the person who points out that, if I thought this video to be a waste of my time, then why spend more time to comment?). I have my reasons...mostly in that it might help just one person who sees my comment, notices there is no trick, or savings, and avoids spending their time watching the entire video.
