That is correct. For rodding, A 4x8" cylinder is filled in two layers. A 6x12" cylinder is filled in 3 layers.
After initial cure, is the sample placed in the saturated lime bath?
After reviewing the slides at cttp.uark.edu/online-training/concrete.php,I see that cyclinders are stored in a water bath, while beams must be stored in a lime bath.
