Hi there. Thank you for this video. My Mum has been hating her Lenovo Ideapad 320s. No wonder - it's a piece of crap, particularly with a pathetic 4GB of RAM. I tried to wipe it and install a lightweight Linux distro on it but failed. Rather than give it her back with a "sorry, Mum", I've bought her a second hand T470 and will be attempting a Linux install on that. Hence, this information on how to get round the protections to booting from USB is invaluable to me. So, thanks for that. Now I'm wondering if there will be any other factors that might try and get in my way. The T470 should be arriving in a couple of days, so we shall see.
You help me alot with this !
Thank you

Çok Teşekkürler 🙏
thank you
the problem with this setting is we end up installing Windows 10 in legacy mode (MBR partition). When we enable secure boot and UEFI only boot, the system won't boot up. I still haven't figured out how to install Win10 on GPT partition that allows us to boot UEFI only.
Thanks a lot
Hello, congrats for this initiative.
I downloaded the recovery files (Win10PROx64 - laptop type 20JT) from the Lenovo support web page to my usb device.
I ran it and everything was okay but after I couldn't restart my laptop.
There are messages that say:
PXE-E53: No boot filename received
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent
Please, do you know what's going on?
Thank you,
Regards,
Renato Pereira

it dosn't work with my t470
Hello, I have a Lenovo T470 laptop like in your video. Can you help me unlock the password in the BIOS because I can't start the laptop. I reinstalled Win 10 and the laptop works very well, but I still can't do anything in the BIOS. My daughter changed the settings passwords in bios. Thank you very much in advance
Thanks, at least it is working while you don't know the BIOS Password. Now you have two options , either replace the BIOS Chip which is preprogrammed or flash the bios with default bios programme. Unfortunately, both are pro conditional repair, should be done by the professional.
that was install windows or?
Yes , to install windows!
Hey i tried with a T460 and it not solve the issue :(
Sorry to hear that, but it should solve the issue. Please watch the video step by step. Make sure boot is off UEFI is off legacy is one and choose your bootable drive or disc is first option in boot priority. And at the end save it before restart.
I did all of that it still doesn't work. ..
What is that usb
This is a bootable windows usb.
unfortunately doesnt work
😢😢 help me
One small, stupid thing decided that this business laptop so praised by everyone - in my case the ThinkPad T470 became useless for me and the point is that despite mounting the Realtek Music Card Chipset in them, in the recording options it absolutely does not support the Function " STEREO MIX". To a large extent, I use the laptop as a Digital Tape Recorder for recording and editing various music, for which recording via a microphone is not suitable - and this is the only option this laptop offers. I am forced to use an external Music Card connected to the USB Port, which makes the Laptop lose mobility and also loses in my opinion. This is a very rare condition and that it must have happened to me with this T470. I am quite devastated by this situation. I also do not like that these laptops do not have a normal SATA Interface slot for the HDD and in case of problems with the HDD, you need to look for special adapters. During the installation of the OS - after removing all Disk Partitions, the Installer threw a yellow message that the System cannot be installed on this Disk - and (sneezes)!!! It's good that my desktop PC, apart from the usual SATA sockets, had identical, matching M.2 Disk installed in the T470, and only then could I completely reset the Disk and, after re-transferring it to the T470, install the System normally. However, this (SQUARE CIRCLE). And to make it even funnier, the second M.2 Disk reacted in the same way - a smaller one placed in the second slot intended for small-sized (short) M.2 Disks, because the main one is M.2 but connected with an adapter - an adapter for Mini PCiex - such as for WiFi Card. Confusion with confusion. There are other Lenovo ThinkPads much thinner and then it's justified, but this T470 can easily accommodate a regular 2.5" drive, so I don't know why they messed up this Storage Disk Interface solution. The laptop, however, makes up for it with its solidity, speed and powerful stability.
My laptop dont recognise USB in boot menu
Sorry to hear that. Check the boot setting correctly and turn off any secure boot and also disable the UEFI boot. Sill if you face the same problem then connect your USB to different connector. Hope that would help. Please do subscribe it it does help! Thanks.
Thanks a lot sir
Most welcome
