There you go, found it at the end - I was confused on the original line when you pitched a spade under a heart, because it didn’t seem to accomplish anything and you can use the diamonds to pull trump

Great analysis Kai. I would have gone down. I would have covered with the king as well. Thanks!

I too would have covered with the K. So much still to learn! Was a great hand to analyze and learn from!

Great video! Really cool to see a trump coup in action, especially how to set it up by pitching the diamonds.
Maybe it was the way you set it up, but when you got to the big decision, I paused, thought through the situation, and actually got it right! I'm not going to be convinced that I would have done that at the table, of course, but still, it was a nice surprise to think through it and get the decision right for the right reason.

Glad you liked it! Trump coups are some of the most fun and satisfying plays that Bridge has to offer!
Yay! I'm happy to hear you got it right! I certainly wouldn't have gotten it right at the table. But I always know that if a TH-camr asks what the right answer is, it's screaming: Something is really abnormal here!
I just posted another video about another trump coup that I missed if you want to check that out too!

Ah, the card game. Don't know why this was recommended. I've never played it. I thought it was a self-defense video of some sort - not that I've ever gone after someone with a club, of course. But thought that I should watch it in case I needed to someday.

Oh my what a surprise this must have been for you. We do no such things on this channel however I can teach you how to protect yourself from a club attack in Bridge... Unfortunately I am not the type to know how to defend myself. If somebody came at me with a club, my solution would be to run as fast as I can. Which isn't very fast, because I sit around playing bridge all day...

Ooohhh.. interesting that you hate 4441 the most....
I've seen expert opinion that 5431 is worth an extra point. :o
And I can't groan hard enough with a 4333... 4441 seems to have more options

4441 isn’t as bad as 4333 offensively but it’s much much worse defensively. in other words it struggles on passive lines, so it’s fine if you have slam, but otherwise not great. 5431 is extremely common and tends to play well but it really just depends on how your hand fits with your partners. The 5 card suit may be a running suit. The 4-card suit may be trump. The singleton avoids losers, and hopefully the 3 card suit is either your partners singleton/dbltn or your partners 5-card suit and helps set them up

At least with 4333 you know where you are going. 4441 is deceptively annoying imo because the Singleton seems helpful but put it against a 4333 or a 5332 and just ew.

I do love 5431 my favorite handshape! Easy to show and so versatile!!!

@@BridginWithKai first-dist as long as 4432 is out of the picture - but actually 4432 is wonderful too
