    In agreement with COPPA regulations, my videos are directed towards a 13+ audience. Trains are not just for kids, and anyone who thinks that can go stick their head in a toilet.
    Let me ask you just a small favor. We are on track (pun partially intended) to 200 subscribers! If you like my videos and want to see more, help boost me to 200 subscribers. Furthermore, lets try and get to 750 subscribers by the end of the year. Socialblade says it'll happen on the 12th of January, 2023, but I believe in you guys. Make it happen!

    I used to love the variety of motive power you would see back then - before those damned ugly wide cabs took over like an invasive plant species. Not to mention cabooses on every train. At least I can come here and relive the way it was. Even the BN unit coal train was wonderful to see.

    Where did Milwaukee Road find the money to actually put down ballast and lift the track? Where did all this traffic come from? You’re talking about a railroad that couldn’t fill one train a day.

    • @DFWRailVideos

      Wouldn’t be an interesting video if it was just one train inching its way down the worst track in existence, now would it? Also this video is two years old.

      @@DFWRailVideos No problem, I was a Railroad engineer for 25 years.
      I worked for the Soo/Milwaukee/CP.
      Rule book says two longs a short and one long, 1/4 mile to the crossing and I stopped occupying the crossing.
      There are many other whistle signals but these are the crossing. The random tooting on the BN train seemed not real. Since the horn at these time where mounted on the cabs extra and random usages would not be used. It was loud in the cab.
      Food for thought.
      Any more advice I’d be happy to give.

    • @DFWRailVideos
      @DFWRailVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome, glad to have a railroader here. The reason I have trains blowing the horn for the camera is two things: 1, it serves as a warning to the person and/or 2, the engineer felt the need to give the camera a horn salute. I guess horn salutes aren’t very prototypical for that era. Thank you for the comments!

    • @DFWRailVideos
      @DFWRailVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also should mention, the BN train wasn’t being controlled by me. Trainz has a feature where you can make a train drive itself, and it will respond to whistle posts with two longs, a short and a long. However, it doesn’t adapt the signal to the speed it’s going, therefore it’ll sound the horn way earlier than needed.

    • @marktaylor9975
      @marktaylor9975 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DFWRailVideos I seen no whistle posts nor was that a proper sounding of one with the BN, train.

      @@DFWRailVideos I guess you would know, as only idiots play video games. And it doesn't necessarily matter when GP38-2s were built, I've just never seen them in pictures ever, on Milwaukee's Pacific Extension, nor seen an F unit leading other than in the Tacoma area.
