Heard this video was a bear to edit and produce but it seems worth it. Bravo, sir!!! As always super educational. Thanks for all the efforts you put in for us hobbyists.
Thank you JW! That means a LOT. I am covered with bandages after the editing process of this one. AND- when I sat down to start editing, I found out I had no sound! Had to use the crappy phone audio and match up to the camera video. Ouch.
this is great, probably need this in a couple years for my boa's adult enclosure since it will be bioactive. Seems a lot easier than I thought to DIY it.
It really was.... but, there is a LOT of time doing the research into this! I bet I have 20-30 hours watching videos, asking other people, looking for supplies. But, that's why I do these videos- to hopefully same someone else this time.
"Supreme" info as always Wally! Love the how to video, "Supreme DIY"! I use that same timer for a fogger I have set up for a little humidity during the day. I hand mist at night when I feed. I use a Govee Bluetooth Hygrometer/Thermometer to keep track of humidity and temps, super handy for $10. Your system is a must have if you have multiple enclosures. A extra set of hands and eyes is always a bonus. Nice work Nanette!
Thank you Bob. This video has been waiting to be done for quite some time. Finally got to it!!! I will check out that H/T for sure. Nice! Thanks for the kind words.
I will have to build this misting system, but a little at a time. Your videos are always amazing, educational and well edited. Since I'm a retired teacher; I would give you an A. Sorry that's the highest grade I give.
You have given me inspiration to keep doing better videos Elaine. If there is a way to get an A+, I WILL FIND IT (oh, by the way, please do not be too hard on me for my spelling. I know I am a terrible speler). :)
I knew my room had a problem with being quite dry to the point where misting some tanks only daily was not enough to keep them moist. This was not a big problem in my mind but after coming home after vacation (petsitter was there a few times when I was gone) and seeing my that my pacman frog was nothing but a dried up husk was the final straw. I really do appreciate you for making this video, and I will be trying these methods out on my tomato frog's setup to make sure they do not meet the same fate as my pac.
VERY nice! I have 2 other mist kings and love them as well (running 20 tanks and running 12). Great systems- plug and play. This one took a bit of work piecing together but I was happy in the end.
Thanks FDT. ALWAYS appreciate your views. It was a HUGE disappointment from an audio standpoint but I had to go with what I had. I started out actually with an hour and 20 minutes of me talking and had to whittle it down to 18!
Excellent video, I bought one of the small Exo terra misters when I first started. It worked good for the first four tanks it was on but I moved back to hand misting as I've expanded.
@@SupremeGecko Definitely, I'm always moving things though trying to get a good set up. Rather than T from tank to tank, I would like to do longer runs to each tank for flexibility. Put all the splits on the wall and run from there.
I created my own misting system for my dart frogs and crested geckos. I use a ten gallon tank with a submersible pump and run a loop back to the pump. Have to redo this since I changed the shelf and the number of tanks.
I always say- if you works for you, disregard what others say. Great to hear Josh. This system (fore thought finally) was purchased to actually run about 40 enclosures (I am hoping).
@@SupremeGecko that’s pretty legit then! MK bases output on nozzles and I have over 30 on it without issue. Just wish I could control each enclosure individually as far as timing and output.
It should be but you can sanitize and wash out a few times to feel more comfortable. Just don't use a bucket that has had anything in it that could be a problem. Thanks for watching.
WOW Wally thank you for all the great Ideas and Information it was a great video Keep up the great work ....P.S. My wife watched the video with me and she changed the password on our Amazon Account Thanks my friend ............lmao
Why not use a 3/8 bulk head connector to the bucket versus reducing down to 1/4 inch? I realize the lines are 1/4 to nozzles but does intake need to be reduced?
Please help I’m currently raising a pill bug colony. I’ve found a white tin worm inside of his from under it coming out. Please help it looked like a pin worm if anyone knows how that looks. It went away after looking please someone tell me what it could be? And if so how do I get rid of it and will it infect the others. I have a big colony
I Googled automatic misters just to see if I can make something simple for my Boston fern but now I'm watching dozens of videos like this😂.
Keep me posted on what you decide. I know this is an older video. If I can answer any questions, please let me know.
I just set mine up today for 4 tanks of various sizes and it works wonderfully. Thanks!
This is so great to hear! Thanks for the feedback.

@@SupremeGecko that sounds AWFUL. Well it seems worth it.
I will definitely watch this video again in a month when I consider doing a misting system. Thank you.
That is exactly what I was hoping to hear.
What's cool about this is that you can easily get this down to ≤$100. And for a mister just for taking small vacations, that's perfect.
Exactly!

Spelling doesn't count when you have auto-correct.
@@Elaine_P_Smith I still misspell with autocorrect :)

Awesome video!!! We only have a few tanks but as we grow will definitely come back to this video! Thanks!
Fantastic! This is what I was hoping to happen. Thanks Trisha.
Great video. I have had the lowest mist King system for over 6 years. Only misting 4 tanks.

Great video, Wally!
Thank you Jessica
This is extremely helpful! Thank you!
Thanks. Glad to help
Great video Wally! I’ll definitely be keeping it on the back burner for when I’m ready to set up automated misting! Thanks!
Right! That's EXACTLY what I was hoping someone would say. Watch the video now.... come back in 6 months when you have to build one of these.
This is awesome Wally
Well, thank you Dale
Fantastic video! Great job!
Thank you very much. I hope you can use this. If you try it out, please do let me know how it goes.
Thank you this is exactly what I was looking for 😊
Cool! Let me know if you do build one.
Thank you Wally.
You are welcome Barb
Great video!
Thanks.
Very helpful video! The link you have for the timer doesn't go to the same one in your video. Just thought I would let you know!
The video is a bit older so they may have changed it.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you for watching
My Advance mist king was totally worth it. For under 13 nozzles you can get away with theStarter system.

You hinted this for a while
Thanks for remembering. I was hoping to do this quite some time ago. Finally got to it.
Wish I would have seen this video years ago!!!!!! ❤
Thank you!
I was just about to buy a mist king for an upcoming vacation. This is perfect timing!
Outstanding! Please check out the items as soon as you can as the pump JUST went on sale!
Great vids. I want to use a 5 gallon bucket as a reservoir does the bucket have to be food safe for my crested gecko?

Why not use a 3/8 bulk head connector to the bucket versus reducing down to 1/4 inch? I realize the lines are 1/4 to nozzles but does intake need to be reduced?
Right. I did just because of the likes.
Hi Wally. What kind of pump can be used for a single tank (18x18x24)? I do not want to have a pump that is overkill for what I need.
Thanks.
For just one tank? You might want to look at the Mist King then.
What is the maximum number of nozzles that can be used misting system like this?
If you vented correctly, 1.
When I get more the one take that need it I will ues it cuz I spent a hr when I ues to need misting
An hour!!! WOW. For me it is a time saver but MORE importantly, this helps me to not need to remember to do it.
At that time I had 50 tank I was misting
@@jaykennedy2256 Oh My!!!

what’s that gecko in the beginning?
That is an Oedura monilis
