Funny to see this review pop up because I have just recently “discovered” the Sail as well. More specifically, how fun it is to throw and shake shots with! An amazing uphill driver as well.
(Just found you today) yes the Sail is a great disc for slower arms. It’s a main distance driver for both my buddy and I. As I’ve gotten better it turns understable more but controllable and flying as far as anything we have.
I've been sitting on a proline Sail for a bit, and I'm really happy you pointed out the disc speed. There is no way this is an 11 speed disc! If you hold it up to an Undertaker or Heat, the rim width is just about identical. This is no Mamba. That being said, in no way does it take away from how good this disc is. Hyzer-flip out of the box. Great review as always!
I am so happy I found this channel and REALLY wished you lived near me for some lesson cuz I just have ZERO lefties above my level of play to help me locally
Between the ones I have (there are plenty of variables) I could bag both. My SP is easy to turn, but tries to fight back, giving great flex lines and holds a hyzer if thrown with enough angle. While my proline does not want to fight back at all and holds the turn to the ground. As mentioned above there are variables to this. Some SP will have more stability to them than others and same for proline. I might have the perfect combo of a more OS SP and US PL. Arm speed could also greatly effect results.
Slower than all 3 (slightly in the case of the Avenger SS) and easier to get it to turn than all 3. I’d say closest to a prototype Hades (very flippy run) just slower. But for medium and slow arms, even though it isn’t as fast, it has crazy glide and easier to get up to speed, so will actually go further. Also smaller rim, so can be a more comfortable grip.
To me, it feels very similar in the hand, with the sail having quite a bit more dome. Despite the Sail claiming its an 11 speed, it's definitely a 9. The Sail just feels like a flippier Heat.
I agree with Matt, the Sail is easier to flip than the Heat. When I throw both flat, I have to pull nearly full power to get the Heat to flex, while I’m throwing the Sail at 60-70%. But I do not lose out on distance since I feel the Sail is like a glide 7-8 and just keeps going, even when thrown at lower speeds.
@@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf I remember the first time I felt a sail it was a tournament stamp and I assumed it was a heat. Bit they do seem to be a decent bit more understable.
Found a PL Sail in the used bin at G3T a few months ago. It is an amazing disc for me.
They are so good!!! Glad it is working out for you!

If I’m playing a course with a lot of elevation, I’m definitely putting one in the bag. Keep one in the trunk just in case!

This is becoming one of my favorite discs for those shows to the right, as a right handed thrower

Thank you! It really doesn’t get the love that the Heat and Avenger SS do, but it is right up there for me.
You’re in Minnesota. And a lefty. Perfect. Great video!

Yup, I'm a gona git one!
In your opinion, is there enough difference in flight between the Proline and SP Sail that it would be a good idea to get both?
I should have said "bag both."

negative 5, holy crap
Yup 😂😂. Not as fast as the numbers suggest. Personally feels like a speed 9 and flies like a beat up Heat.
How would this compare to the Avenger SS, Hades and Thrasher? We have similar arm speeds

@@CheatingLeftyDiscGolf so closer to the stratus? Or glide?

I think the Sails flight numbers really should be 9 | 8 | -4 | 1
Lefty u da man!
Sail vs heat?
Possibly! I do have an Avenger SS vs Sail being filmed

Where can I get one?
So this is essentially a Mamba?
Flight wise similar, but smaller rim and a little deeper feel.
second!
First
Be aware the dga baskets have no replacement parts. Other baskets do. Disappointed in dga so I stopped buying those discs ,
How does the Sail compare to a Heat or an Avenger SS?
Much flippier. Flies like a longer seasoned Heat and like a reeeaaaallllly seasoned Avenger SS.
