  • The Paul McBeth Hades from Discraft has taken the world by storm in 2020, but is it enough to take down the established Tempest from DGA? Two amazing understable distance drivers enter, but only ONE can be the winner.
    Be sure to get your Hades at: www.discraft.com/
    Be sure to get your Tempest at: discgolf.com/
    Thank you to Discraft and Riverside Pro Shop for the support in 2020.

    We were biting our nails at the end but congrats to the Hades :)
    Great representation of the Tempest, thanks for the review!

      Love the ICE Tempest so much! I’ve been getting to baskets I’ve never reached before with it!

    I'm so happy to find an honest disc review channel! When I check reviews for discs on infinite disc, most people say they're a beginner throwing about 400' and I'm pushing 280'- 310' on my best drives. It's nice to see a channel that will be very helpful for my arm speed. Great review and production!

    I picked up DGA mid-range discs today and went out to throw them. I had not seen them before but I liked the Squall, the Rift, and the Quake.

    • @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf
      @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I found the Rift to be the same. Has the low resistance to turn as the Buzzz SS, but has the late “over stability” of a Buzzz. Definitely a good disc for shaping shots or getting a little more distance due to the natural flex in its flight. I haven’t tried the Rift in other plastics beside the Swirly Special Blend, but it will be interesting to test the others!
      The Quake is one of my favorite overstable mids! Mostly flat, which I love for forehand! It also holds the extra torque from forehand, so for me it is a perfect all around mid!

    Paul was very smart to put his brand on the Hades. The Tempest, Destiny, Shryke, and Hades all hold that spot in their manufacturer's lineup that I call the 'magic' spot. I've thrown them all and liked them all. Pro's may only throw these discs for fun during distance competitions, but the rest of us can get our best distance while still having enough control to replicate long lines round after round. The Hades has a clean, comfy rim and it feels 'flat' because it is not very tall, which I prefer to the tall, domey discs. I keep two Hades in my bag for downwind drives and for flexing long shots over trees. The ESP of the Prototype Hades that I have is supple and grippy, so I dont miss the Hades not being available in other plastics. I wish all of Discraft's ESP felt like this. I have a hard time finding my favorite Discraft molds in 'good' ESP that's not hard, slippery, and brittle.

    I was thinking there was no way my Hades flies the same as these discs, then I you said the test flight Hades flies completely different. Completely agree. The test flight Hades is -1 or -2 turn at best. I'll have to try the other plastics!

      Thank you!! I’ve been working on my flick lot this year! Went from being situational 225 in to being almost consistently farther and more accurate than my backhand.

    Also something to add for the bigger arms the hades is good for rollers that’s what I use my hades for I’m not sure about the tempest I have not thrown it

    Really like the comparisons! I wonder how these would fare compared to the Nuke SS. I have an older beat in Nuke SS that I can throw pretty well even with my slower arm speed, but the extra glide and less LSS of the Hades has me intrigued!

    If you weren't just comparing Discraft discs I would recommend to put the Innova Deadalus (13,6,-3,2) against the Hades
    Amazing Disc and actually still quite overstable for faster armspeeds (at least in champion plastic)

    I can’t decide if I want to get the get freaky zone or the z flx zone, I don’t know the differences between them. If anyone could help me out that would be great!

    • @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf
      @CheatingLeftyDiscGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Get Freaky Zone’s are CryZtal Flx Zones with Brodie’s brand stamp. The regular ZFlx will be a little more flexible. In regards to overstability, they are roughly the same. But for my arm I do not notice much difference in overstable discs.

    Why do you call your channel, " Cheating Lefty Disc Golf"? I'm right handed in everything except disc golf, & wonder how many others like me are out there.

    • @prattacaster
      @prattacaster 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pretty much the same here. Batted right in baseball, throw LHBH in disc golf. Gave me a pretty big advantage here in my early months of playing only took me a few weeks to drive over 300ft. I haven't progressed a ton tho in distance, but doesn't matter too much, good putting and approaches are key.

    • @twhatley45
      @twhatley45 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@prattacaster I'm jelly about the 300 feet. Been playing since mid July. I'm throwing 200, but I haven't got the x step refined just yet. One of these days tho!

    • @prattacaster
      @prattacaster 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@twhatley45 So if I could suggest, do not worry about the x step just yet. Instead focus on that last step making sure your left heel is planting at the same time you hit your reach back. Keep your disc tight to your chest and be sure to shift your weight to your front foot. If you do this correctly your right foot will swing forward and your midrange disc will magically go 250ft. Start with your feet pretty much together with this drill, and keep your head down. Use an understable mid or putter.

    • @twhatley45
      @twhatley45 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok cool. I've figured that I'm at a point where I need to work on better form if I want more distance. All your suggestions are solid, & I'm gonna record myself so I can see what I'm doing right, & what I'm not. I think that my left arm is weaker than my right since I'm a righty in
      all but disc golf, so maybe some left arm conditioning is needed. Disc golf is a great sport, but the really neat thing is the cool people like you that I've met while playing Thanks for the input!

      To answer the the question about how I got the channels name, it is my nickname at my local league. When I hit a crazy line on holes where right hand backhand players have difficulty, everyone always called me a Cheating Lefty 😝
