    Yeah, coconut milk can give the coffee a sour taste, it also curdles when chilled. And the coffee it's definitely for people who like it strong or are used to drink bitter drinks. Most of this people are probably used to drink creamer with a lil dash of coffee.

    The acidity of the coffee never pairs well with coconut, that would explain the chunks. Also, 1g of sugar in these drinks almost nothing compared to a bottled Starbucks frap that has like 30g of sugar. It's not the same, but I feel like people would expect them to be a similar vibe. Most prepackaged coffee drinks are plain unsweetened or creamy and sweet, no in-between.
    Either way, I opt for grinding my own beans and brewing my own shit fresh vs canned/bottled coffee, but still.

This is also why a good amount of people don't recommend coconut milk unless you are making an at home recipe and drinking it the same day, it can turn into a mess very easily. little tid bit here - milks will separate like that and form "chunks" during the pasteurization process. My guess is that they used a powdered coconut milk (they would do this to further support keeping the product shelf stable) and it got a little "cooked," forming those pieces/specks. Totally safe to consume and super normal for canned coffee. TBH i think most people have just never had canned coffee and didn't know what to expect.

      They’ve done testing. These will be made in factories with lots of testing. This is a common thing for milk alternatives!

    ppl were expecting this super sweet, full creamer, no coffee drinks which isn’t realistic. if ur wanting a very strong, not to sweet coffee then get this because its soooooo good.

    coming from someone who loves starbucks and also grew up drinking unsweetened dark black coffee with my hispanic family i can confirm that most people who have these reactions just aren’t used to coffee as is. they’re used to overly sweet and creamy drinks with whipped cream and caramel drizzle. nothing wrong with it. i love them too. but when you’re going to try something you’re not used to and KNOW you’re not used to. don’t give such exaggerated and over the top reactions.

    Coconut milk is just known to be chunky when cold since that is the fat that separated from the milk. I drink it all the time with in my matcha lattes and it always ends up like that so it's not expired.

    Of course people are going to come for her for basing her coffee brand on HER likes, instead of the likes of the general public. You just KNOW people are going to bitch, like, "It's too strong!" or "There's no sugar in it!" Well, then, sweetheart; it ain't FOR YOU. Get over it.

    I think the issue is that the majority of Americans expect super sweet starbies coffee and don't drink actual iced coffee that doesn't consist of 90% sugar. As for the coconut milk issue, maybe she should put out an oat milk version. IMO oat milk is the best dairy alternative for coffee. It doesn't seem to alter the coffee's taste much (if any at all) and just pairs really well.

    ahhhh i had this experience before like these people, not with emma's coffee cuz i never tried it but with iced coffee in general. coconut milk with mess with the iced coffee and it will become curdled and give a bad taste no matter what. i've had starbucks drinks with coconut milk before and they were messy and not that sweet in the end so it's not just emma's coffee. in my opinion, the best options for non dairy coffee would be either almond milk or oat milk

  • @greyriver2988
    @greyriver2988 ปีที่แล้ว

    people either aren't used to this strong of coffee and thought that it'd be sweeter than it usually is, or there could be a manufacturing issue. that could explain why it's chunky and tastes spoiled.

  • @snowboardingchic
    @snowboardingchic ปีที่แล้ว

    From my experience, most coffees that come in cans are 90% black and have barely any sugar, soo I don't know what people were expecting. The only thing that is usually sweet are Starbucks frappuccinos which have a crap load of sugar.

    I actually hate canned coffee because it's always too sweet. If this is not sweetened that much I may try it. I don't know if it's weird for me as a girl to only drink black coffee but it's so hard finding non-sweetened coffee that I only drink my coffee that I make.
