To me, DSAF is like the "Tails gets trolled" of the Fnaf community. It's something that started off as just a shitpost, but as the series goes on, it gets progressively better and better, eventually turning into an absolute masterpiece of a series.
This is why you need to play more than one ending. The REAL reason William changed his name to Dave Miller is so much more emotional than just "so he can continue to do what Henry wanted" the tapes describing how Henry hated the idea of Dave changing his name to his dead sons really hits hard. Dave's pure LOVE for Henry being the reason he can't die as no matter what he can't let go of Henry's dream. Hurts so much knowing William loved him SO much he was willing to change his entire identity to match Henry's sons name only for Henry to LITERALLY steal his organs while he slept to see if it would effect him in anyway.
Honestly when you said that players could do something they wanted to do for a long time I thought you were gonna talk about devouring toy chicas “hot bird ass”. But yes throwing balloon boy out a window was much more desired by fans without a doubt
Dave originally didn’t want to go kill children, and felt really bad for doing so, but after he gets springlocked and posses his own corpse, Henry starts doing tests on him by removing parts of his brain, effectively removing his conscience entirely
Ah finally-- someone else who agrees Dave is the best version of William Afton. He's my absolute favourite, and I always have to tell people who are only familiar with it at a surface level "yes really, I mean it" haha
dsaf 1 definitely aged the least well. dsaf 2 has some outdated jokes but does its job well at combining comedy and emotional stories and dsaf 3 completely NAILS the story aspect, due to it not trying to be as funny as the previous games did.

Find it funny how he starts talking about “ascending” by checking out the DSAF games with the player model of Jack, who canonically is unable to go to heaven. How ironic!
Have you considered checking out Henry’s tapes in DSaF 3? It really gives a lot of insight on Henry and Dave’s motivations, along with the evil ending.
Dayshift At Freddy's was not really a fan game I expected to be the most memorable one, I remember back in 2016/2017 watching all the vids about it and having a laugh at the jokes. I've recently played it on August 2022 and I do not regret it. I still haven't gotten all endings for DSaF 1 and 2, and I have yet to start DSaF 3. Great video Nitro!
@@LakeofCrystalclanprepare to also cry when you get the bad ending because I have yet to watch a playthrough and I am terrified just by virtue of having seen spoilers
Nobody mentioned it so I will, the "rat" is a character from "tomorrow's pioneers". Just be careful when looking it up, it has some... Interesting views on Jewish people.
I would've gone a bit more into the story. Like how Jack gave Blackjack to dave because Dave WOULD NOT leave. He had abandonment issues, which is why he stuck with Henry for so many years. When Dave was given Blackjack, Jack told him it was because Jack the Soulless corpse could not move on, and that Blackjack would never leave his side. I think that's a very important point that shoulda been brought up. Alongside Jack being a soulless corpse, who had the end does not move on with the others, meaning he ceases to exist. While the others get a "happy ending", Jack gets a "tragic ending". The only thing that lives on, is the memories of the others have about him.
I unironically cry every time I watch the ending of Dayshift 3. What started as a joke became a fairly well-woven reimagining of the convoluted story we all fell in love with. It’s got that nostalgic feel that the first few fnaf games have. And DSaF 3 being loosely based on Pizza Sim, my favorite game in the series, helps too. I proudly stand among the cult following for this series, haha.
Honestly the best ending from DSAF 1 (imo) was where you get Phone Guy to get Dave arrested rather than you. Basically you have to get really hecking lucky and run into either Ze Health Inspector or The Bullies after you murder the kiddins. Then, you need to speak to Phoney (since he'll give you a favor for helping him out) and use the favor to basically say "I killed those kids, but I need you to make Dave take the fall." Phone Guy hates you for it, but he's a man of his word and Dave gets arrested. This ending is the hardest to me due to the fact that most runs that I played didn't have those encounters at all. I've only fought Ze Health Inspector twice and saved the Crying Child once in around 20 playthroughs (I kept dying lol).
You need to play dsaf 3 and get the other endings. Godred is creepy as fuck and cool at the same time. The evil ending is awesome and the business ending too. I think there’s a ballpit ending with music man I might be wrong. There’s other stuff too.
It’s kinda funny/ironic how the DSaF’s series gets less funny as the series progresses. The 1st game is the funniest out of all of them. The most jokes used and is overall, as you said, a shitpost. But the second starts funny in the 1st half but gets serious and emotional the 2nd half. The 3rd game is serious the whole way through with mild humor here and there. It definitely matured over the years.
something that I'm really impressed with in dsaf2 is just how many endings it has. theres a completely unique ending for every decision you make with dave and peter in their respective routes. like, completely unique and worth it, not like dsaf1 where you can die slightly differently.
I feel like DSAF is such an interesting side of the FNAF fandom with its own amazing story that honestly at least for me you wouldn’t really expect for FNAF especially sense FNAF is mainly associated with “creepy game where kids die” It’s just such a nice story with nicely thought out characters that you can actually feel bad for and in some weird way relate to. Honestly DSAF needs even more people to talk about it
tbh i feel like dsaf was one of more unique fangames mostly because: instead of a night time it take places in the day, it was made in rpg maker, and instead of being a horror its pure comedy (mostly) thats also why i love this trilogy, also counting the lore of it
I am glad this game is now getting some more recognition. This is the most memorable and close to my heart fangame, surprisingly enough. I literally cried when I beat dsaf 3, granted i was a lot younger then but it's just an amazing fangame
Even though you didn’t play through most of the endings, I absolutely enjoyed the video, but the creepiest ending in the trilogy was definitely either the bad ending or the ending with IT in it (both from dsaf3)
Dsaf is the true pick your own adventure game. It can be funny, violent, horrifying, goofy, serious and sad all based on your choices. The true good ending of dsaf 3 hasn't made me cry as hard in years..

Dayshift at Freddy's is one of the games I grew up with. There were times when I thought I was one of the Flipside squad and created movie scenarios about DSaF in my head when I was little. DSaF has inspired me many times. Especially Dee. I remember using her as a model in my designs 2-3 years ago, and still do. I was 9 when I learned this game and it is still one of the things I love most in my life. Thank you for my beautiful childhood Directdoggo
The mascot you couldn't remember in the first game is the Honey Monster, the mascot for Sugar Puffs. I remember this vividly because I was a fan of the Mighty Boosh as a teenager and during a live show they decapitated an effigy of the Honey Monster because Sugar Puffs had done an ad campaign using a similar style of improv song to them and they were kind of mad about it. This was waaaay back in like 2008 or thereabouts and it's a memory I cherish dearly for how batshit insane it sounds out of context or even trying to explain the context.
Haven't heard of this title in a longggg time... It's nice though. Brings back good memories. I remember when I first watched a youtuber play it, and I'd be hiding it behind another tab lol It was definitely full of cursing and not-so-appropriate jokes, and my parents weren't super into me viewing that. I finally managed to download the game myself and I played all three in the right order. When I played the games, I'd get every ending in each before starting the next one. I even had a folder dedicated to my favorite moments from all three of the games. I don't know where that folder is now though... I remember being in the fandom even though the series ended. I made headcanons that Dave and Jack loved each other (who didn't), and I even made a headcanon that Jack found a way to Dave and the whole party were going through miscellaneous adventures in a town that was basically an ideal version of the city the dsaf 2 place was in. They could live their lives without worry of child murder or killings or anything else awful. Dave and Jack started their own pizzeria, and ghost kids would come to this pzzaria and finally get to live out the life they always wanted to live, getting to just eat pizza and watch the shows. I don't remember if I ever gave anything for dee or Peter, but they lived at the same house as Jack, and Dave lived in his own house, and so did Steven. The other characters who went to heaven also had their own homes, but this story was mostly about Dave, Jack, Dee, Peter, and Steven. Blackjack was also there every so often. It was kind of goofy, but that was what DSAF was, and it was a great series I got to enjoy :')
purple guy is the type of dude you would like to see on a public show with the "meatball parade" music by kevin macleod playin in the backround its just his character
"And even if you play a new save he keeps that grin and jacks his permanent name now" I guess you can say "Jack is back, it's time for him to let'er rip!"
The “Dayman” bit in DSaF2 is from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. One of the characters writes a Musical with the Nightman and Dayman being the bad guy and good guy respectively
DSAF is quite literally the comfy sleepover side of fnaf fangames, theres absolute whackedyness being occured by no other than 2 8-bitted employees. With a Phone headed boss in 2 games trying to stop the mischief. Dsaf 3 may of had a depressing ending with Old sport not being able to come along with the buddies, but the journey in the trilogy was enough to make people laugh.
I watched dsaf when I was way to young to understand the jokes, but I laughed the heck watching it, I loved dave especially, this gives me nostalgia even though the game is a hilarious photoshop fever dream.
I'm glad that DSAF ended well and that it was a true masterpiece! What's even better is that from my knowledge, Direct Doggo doesn't really have any flaws!
I re-played the first installment recently. Was bored, at home without my main pc and stuck with a chugger. Remembered this game and honestly had a blast. It just so charming.
Now here's the thing I never understood about the DSaF 3 true ending. What happens to Jack? I mean he burns alive but he has no soul so he can't go to the afterlife, so what happens with him? Is he just in a void of his own conscience? A living pile of ash? Like what happens to him after the story?
there's actually an game before Dsaf 3 which is the ''child carity game'' or something like that, which you controll jack as he survives fnaf 1 pizzaria and then on the hard mode or i think its night 7, you play as dave and he dies there on the springlock suit.
shame you didn't cover more of dayshift 3s endings the evil/vegas ending it really puts dave as a whole and the good ending into persepctive and the GODRED end sure is somthing
I made a day shift at Freddy's (Pick of the Fax) animation years ago and it became my most popular video... It is still to this day getting views and comments. Let's just say that this game holds a special place in my heart
little bit of info, 'the nightman' is a reference to a tv show called it's always sunny in philidelphia. in one of the episodes theres this little song and it goes "nightman, fighter of the dayman, master of karate and friendship for everyone" and the whole nightman thing is a direct reference to it
the most iconic thing about these games is dave's voice its this wierd mix of like 3 or 4 text to speech voices that matches so well just if you as much as hear a word from him you know its him and his catchphrases never miss
Ah yes, dayshift where in three games doggo surpassed Scott by making William afton the Dave we know, love, hit Vegas with and secretly resent for killing toddlers and the more heinous crime of never sharing his Kebabs.
if you are curious he is the original Fredbear from the Ooftroops totally accurate FNAF timeline. (and he did kill a man, also turns out both of those won't be too far off from the original Fredbear after all... lol)
Ferdinand also is nightmare Fred bear without his illusion discs, and they eventually made him "dumber and a lot stupider" and turned them into Fred bear.
To me, DSAF is like the "Tails gets trolled" of the Fnaf community.

Haven't heard of this title in a longggg time...
It's nice though. Brings back good memories. I remember when I first watched a youtuber play it, and I'd be hiding it behind another tab lol
It was definitely full of cursing and not-so-appropriate jokes, and my parents weren't super into me viewing that.
I'm 14, and I fucking laughed at a "Beraly know her" joke
purple guy is the type of dude you would like to see on a public show with the "meatball parade" music by kevin macleod playin in the backround
its just his character
Clearly didn't pay the troll toll.
Watch sunny and get back to me on the nightman cometh
"And even if you play a new save he keeps that grin and jacks his permanent name now"
I guess you can say "Jack is back, it's time for him to let'er rip!"
DSAF best joke

.
"Thank"
The “Dayman” bit in DSaF2 is from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. One of the characters writes a Musical with the Nightman and Dayman being the bad guy and good guy respectively
Like the comment or pay the troll toll.
A bittersweet end.
Dayman, fighter of the Nightman, Champion of the Sun. He's a master of Karate and friendship for everyone
I re-played the first installment recently. Was bored, at home without my main pc and stuck with a chugger. Remembered this game and honestly had a blast. It just so charming.
18:56 "bleeding bleeding pain vast discomfort" 😂😂
Oh god, I’d feel my heart being torn apart if I had one.
Dsaf fabs flocking to any last bit of dsaf content
Now here's the thing I never understood about the DSaF 3 true ending. What happens to Jack? I mean he burns alive but he has no soul so he can't go to the afterlife, so what happens with him? Is he just in a void of his own conscience? A living pile of ash? Like what happens to him after the story?
Nothing
Void, but no conscience
Everything ends for him, he just dissapears forever
He goes to Hell and gets to whale on Henry solo style
I love this game so much. Definitely my favorite FNaF fangame.
I WOULD FUCKING LOVE A DSAF GAME IN THE STYLE OF HENRY STICKMIN
It's like Undertale, but they don't remember your last saves.
Can someone else make the faithful sequel to doggo's DSAF trilogy with ocs, memes amazing writing and parodies of characters from fnaf 4-SB
DSAF: Oh God Oh Fuck They Got inside
there's actually an game before Dsaf 3 which is the ''child carity game'' or something like that, which you controll jack as he survives fnaf 1 pizzaria and then on the hard mode or i think its night 7, you play as dave and he dies there on the springlock suit.
Dsaf series lures you in with its jokes and then it whips it out
Its story
luring you in and then whipping it out. Reminds me of my uncle.
reword this comment right tf now
@@KenjakuIsAwesome No😁
Exquisite analysis, old sport. I enjoyed watching your reaction to this godly shitpost
27:28 yeah imagine finally opening that thing in FNAF 4 and it's just some rotten sandwich William forgot about
The dayman and nightman bits are actually a reference to the show "It's always sunny in philadelphia"
shame you didn't cover more of dayshift 3s endings the evil/vegas ending it really puts dave as a whole and the good ending into persepctive and the GODRED end sure is somthing
dayshift is the best fnaf fangame ever and nobody can change my mind
This reminds me of the time Freddy Fazbear ate my limbs.
0:10 "there is an icon in the top right corner" it just says egg
0:20 *I like how this segment was recorded in Garry’s Mod.*
I made a day shift at Freddy's (Pick of the Fax) animation years ago and it became my most popular video... It is still to this day getting views and comments. Let's just say that this game holds a special place in my heart
This is one of the most nistolgic fnaf fangames for me it’s amazing, great vid man!
8:50 wasn't there an ending where you play Breadbear each day and get murdered by breadbear
Why hello there, [unsettling pause] old sport!
“Everett got torn up by Freddy” bro tf did I do
What an odd bedtime story.
Good night, Sportsy.
Good night, Dave
Dave is a Yandere. And you cant change my mind
Yesn’t
the cereal mascot is (i’m pretty sure) the honey monster from sugar puffs/honey monster puffs/honey puffs if anyone was wondering
Crazy that FNaF 6 confirmed that Old Sport was canon
little bit of info, 'the nightman' is a reference to a tv show called it's always sunny in philidelphia. in one of the episodes theres this little song and it goes "nightman, fighter of the dayman, master of karate and friendship for everyone" and the whole nightman thing is a direct reference to it
"Does God have a text-to-speech voice?"
He prefers to be called the Man-Emperor now.
Finnally this game's status has been recognized
Henry miller is one of my favorite pure evil villains ever no cap
Dave is the this best part of the series! change my mind? VEGAS BABY!
the most iconic thing about these games is dave's voice
its this wierd mix of like 3 or 4 text to speech voices that matches so well
just if you as much as hear a word from him you know its him
and his catchphrases never miss
Day man and Nightman are probably referencing Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Charlie writes a play about them in an episode.
The scariest thing this game series produced was Godred… and the fox yiffing
Ah yes, dayshift where in three games doggo surpassed Scott by making William afton the Dave we know, love, hit Vegas with and secretly resent for killing toddlers and the more heinous crime of never sharing his Kebabs.
7:36 me being such a Fnaf nerd that I don't know the service stuff but get a little deeper and that's my territory:
Ferdinand von Bernard!
if you are curious he is the original Fredbear from the Ooftroops totally accurate FNAF timeline.
(and he did kill a man, also turns out both of those won't be too far off from the original Fredbear after all... lol)
Ferdinand also is nightmare Fred bear without his illusion discs, and they eventually made him "dumber and a lot stupider" and turned them into Fred bear.
The good ending of 3 makes me cry every time without fail.
Yes
I was bawling to it man. If dave hugged jack in the scene i wouldve cried so loud
