how am I supposed to identify roots, prefixes and suffixes in just a minute? on DSAT we just get 1 min to solve a question.
I took a sat test and got 1370 as I watched your videos when I took another one it seemed much easier and I got 1400 keep it up and thank you❤

Yes, this is what I teach my SAT students - learn the word roots, prefixes & suffixes to find ways to identify a word you don't know - this is a good "language hack" - educated guess - and it's fascinating to use with words that are similar or opposite.
This is so useful! I haven't ever seen such a tip. As an international student, after watching this video, I feel it gonna be much easier to find out all the vocab meanings. Thanks !!
Hey Laura, there actually was a Digital SAT pilot test today and i took it, and from what i could tell is that there are way more varieties of questions in the english AND math so i feel like the 4 bluebook practice tests aren't enough. But overall the pilot test was a good experience and seems like the new format is looking good especially in terms of time.
Interesting! Can you give me an idea of other types of questions that you saw that aren’t on the 4 practice tests?
@@StrategicTestPrep Cant quite remember exactly but there were some more complex geometry/graphing questions and functions. Not necessarily hard but sort of different than the practice tests. I just feel like collegeboard should have given us more material to practice from :/

@@StrategicTestPrep For me the English section was really challenging unlike every practice test I did xD every question was kinda too long and required a lot of time cuz it was too wordy and complex, and the vocabulary got too intricate with every question (reading).
Do you have any tips to improve my reading speed and understand everything simultaneously?
The writing section was okay nothing special.
The First Math module was too easy like it was unreal tbh xD, but in module 2 the questions were challenging.
The Digital SAT pilot really helped me understand my weak points, which are Vocabulary and reading speed

@@tiffanychang548 You could sign up from College board. When you say register SAT pilot date will show up. But I do not think that they will do further pilot SAT. If they will you can check from your college board account
Superhelpful! Amoral (one m) is a great example of an antonym that may be confused with "immoral." A= absence of /Im= not. Actually, I am not sure which of these two words is the antonym of "moral."
Immoral is probably more technically the antonym, as im means “not”
hey laura :( i struggle a lot with the long questions. the ones with the a table given or sometimes bar charts and we are asked to choose the option that uses the information given the most. those questions are really long and they end up taking a lot of my time :( please any tips for that?

I took a mock like 2 weeks ago? Or 3? I got 720 in math and 660 so 1380. I havea real exam in a month. And my biggest problem is vocabulary (I mean english is my 3 language). So wish me luck this exam is going to determine my future.

There are so many SAT vocab lists on youtube. SAT vocabulary should be somewhere in between IELTS(Academic) and GRE. People often try to build vocabulary few days before an exam which is impractical. Try to learn few words daily and practice so that they stay in your long term memory. Amazing video! I'm an international student, and my academic vocabulary is on a pretty high level. I'm going to pass the DSAT in May. Do you know by any chance where I can get some harder level DSAT questions? I mean, I have time, and I'd like to prepare with some even harder level questions than on the real test

Personally, I eliminated the ones that just looked dumb and did not make sense in the context. I used thus strategy all the way. For the French speaker, more often than not, English words that look almost like a french one mean the same thing in the same context. If it makes sense in the phrase, more than the other one, pick it.

I have a question. If in means not why are there words that do not apply to this prefix?
For example, the word inscribe means write/engrave while scribe also means write
The prefix "in" also means "around" or "about". Take the word "ingenious" (very clever), "incubate" (to sit on [eggs] to warm and hatch them), and "intelligent". Also, avoid confusing ingenious with "ingenuous" which means innocent.

Hi! No - Preptly is independent of collegeboard! The only partner to collegeboard is Khan academy, but they do not have a mobile app for SAT prep

Asking just out of curiosity: What's stopping kids from googling the vocab words? Why does the college board do nothing about it? This is totally unfair!
The computers they test on lock so they cant exit the tab to do anything aside from whats on there
