For the last practice question, I think choice C is correct because it doesnt have any commas. Choice A has a comma before the name of the biologist. And as u said, description + name structure doesnt need comma, so the same goes with this question and makes choice C the correct answer. If I wrong, correct me, please.

Thanks for the tips! I took practice test 1 and I got a 650 for English. I think what I struggled the most after reviewing was grammar, punctuation and vocabulary questions. For example in that 1st example I forgot you could put however at the end of the sentence so I put B. And in that 3rd example I see an s behind ear and I put A. I feel like a lot of my mistakes were like careless ones but sometimes when I’m doing the questions and I spend too much time I’m like yeah whatever it’s probably this… in hindsight I should’ve probably just marked those questions.

It is just the same thing when you put "however" at the end or the beginning of the first part of sentence, but the word must belong to the first part.(because of the meaning) Example: However, I failed the test. I failed the test, however. However, I failed the test. My mother gave me the cake to cheer me up. I failed the test, however; my mother gave me the cake to cheer me up.
I'm good at the paregraf questions also I don't have any problems with time manegment but the other questions I'm really bad at like the 'standart english conventions ' questions

I think most of the struggle is time and vocabulary questions. So any strategies for saving time and approaching questions as fast as possible would be great. Since each question had only 1-2 little paragraphs I thought I don't need to do as much skimming as I used to do in paper SAT's huge ass passages, but still I noticed that even in the Digital version you only need to read 2-3 sentences of the text(mostly at the end) since others are just for context, and instead of reading the whole text I focused on finding those "important" sentences (what the question asks about), for example in "which piece of information would best supports the theory/statement?" type of questions I only read one sentence that contained that theory, like that I managed to answer most of the questions under 30 seconds. But fuck vocabulary. 😔

Ok, I found your site. I teach SAT in China to US bound HS students. I have incorporated your videos into my lessons. Sadly the kids here don't have access to TH-cam and using a VPN is dangerous due to govt censorship. You speak a little fast for them to follow, but I hot pause, explain and continue. Yes, there are changes and this year we will begin digital. I do find it much easier for non-native speakers to take the exam.
"Words in context" questions are the hardest ones for me - I don't know a lot of high-level words. It would be great if you could share some tips and tricks to get these questions right without memorizing tons of difficult words.

@StrategicTestPrep Thank you so much for this insightful video. For number 1, I am of the opinion that 'D' is correct. 'however' is a conjunctive adverb. When we use a conjunctive adverb to join two independent clauses together, the first independent clause is marked off with a semicolon which is followed by the conjunctive adverb then a comma which is immediately followed by the next sentence.

Generally, I'm struggling with reading sections. I just feel like I'm helpless with the Reading. Both math and grammar are easier to work with since they contain certain rules that you can follow logically . Even though there are rules to follow in the reading section as well, but they are much less effective working with them, at least in my perspective as not native English speaker.
