Just found this vlog - wow how jammy are you to get this allotment - you’ve got a greenhouse , shed , cold frame , umpteen compost bins , numerous bits n bobs near shed that you will no doubt use in the future -- best new plot I’ve seen On here after watching so many having to clear and dump tonnes of rubbish etc before they can think of doing anything -- there will be a lot of jealousy seeing this 🤣-- how lucky are you fella !!!!! 👍👍👍👍
Awesome plot. If I could, don’t get rid of anything for a good minute. Ask fellow allotment peeps for suggestions on what to use these strange things for. Good luck!
Wow what a lovely plot! You've been so lucky, its in great shape and wont need much work to get it up and running. I think the tress with the white blossom tinged with red/pink are apples and the all white might have been a pear tree? The orchard would look beautiful in spring under planted with spring bulbs. Also i would cut the flower stalks off your rhubarb to promote more growth of stems. I have subscribed and cant wait to see what you do with your plot ❤ Edited to add: also looks like yoive got some fruit bushes at the side of the orchard. Couldnt tell from the video what they were though!
Great another newbie. Love to watch people transform their new plot. I look forward to the transformation. 🎉 looks like you’ve done really well that’s a nice little plot and I agree it’s not in bad nick either.
Have just discovered your first video, excellent Allotment, apples, pears and a plum. What a lovely lot of other odds and ends, keep the grass, mowing it would produce a valuable resource for your garden, clippings spread thinly can be applied to your spuds, under your fruit trees, and as heat source for your compost heap.
Firstly: congratulations on getting an allotment - they are all hard work! Having said that you will soon find you want more space. Personally I would follow Charles Dowding as he has great advice. Your bulb planter will be a very useful tool. Break the 2 bays into smaller sections, cover the bits you aren't working on with cardboard as thickly as you can as that will suppress weeds till you are ready to work on it. Work on small section at a time and don't worry about what others are doing - comparing your plot to others is pointless! Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Watch a few TH-cam's to find the best gardening method for you. It has obviously been loved so it's a good site. Locals will also advise you but some of their ideas might be outdated. Charles Dowding is worth a watch. Good luck. Lant as you go. Dont wait till you've dug the whole plot before getting crops in.
You have a fab allotment for a beginner it’s great u allready have fruit trees, shed and a greenhouse and looks fairly uptogether unlike some plots u see good luck with ur allotment journey
Looks a very well kept plot. Of course it needs some job - all plots need an endless amount of effort, but this looks in a rather good condition to me. Lovely orchard - I'm jealous of yours. I had only two apple trees on my and then planted one pear that is still so small. Some of yours I'd reckon as apples but the nearest to the shed might be a pear - I can't promise though. As for the veg - you can try various things on there, and when you run out of ideas then just drop in some potatoes - feels a good to go on any spare place.
I got an allotment last year half the size and was covered in brambles, horse tail, creeping thistle, bishop weed. I have watched my neiboring allotment get overgrown in front of my eyes after being refused to take it on.. count your blessings
Looks like a lovely plot and the orchard is a nice use of the space. Yes of course it will be work, but it seems to be in such good shape that the work will be for the growing of your plants not much fixing other people's problems.
Congratulations on your new allotment it’s lovely. My one suggestion is don’t leave your mower or anything that is going to cost you to replace as it could be stolen. Secondly go regularly for an hour or two and do just a small amount each day so you don’t burn out. Plant as you go. Dig a bit and plant it. Cover half your plot with some damp proofing membrane to start killing the weeds as you work on the other side. If the two plots seem too big make smaller manageable beds by putting in weed membrane & woodchip paths. Lastly enjoy it. Take breaks and just observe your progress. Enjoy!
Only just found your channel! I think that plot is absolutely beautiful! You're very lucky! Good luck with your plot and channel Craig. Danny @Thegrowupchannel 🌱
Just found your vlog, plots looks in great condition, my only criticism is when you turn with the camera, could you not spin so fast, other than that you are doing a gran job.😊
It looks so good and healthy. Congrats. Oh, that spud planter is really a bulb planter. Maybe it can be used for potatoes but might dislodge the “chit”.
I really appreciate that thank you. But be warned, my content is very unpolished and isn't really designed for 'the market' so there's every chance you'll end up disappointed. But that's life lol
Your plot looks great, mine hadnt been used for four years, it was soooooo bad, but just clearing it as i go, im getting there, but it is hard work. Im sooo pleased youve got a shed, I had to buy one, but now im really happy! Ha! Somewhere to sit for a cuppa!
Wow you have a good plot there Craig, you will soon clear it and be planting before you know it. You will get lads of how toos on You tube. Happy planting.
Hi Craig 👋👋👋👋👋 Just found your channel and Subscribed. Might be a bit late now but it looks like you dropped very lucky with your plot. I have been gardening on and off for 60 years and still don't know everything. What I always say to new gardeners is to walk around the site and see what others do, you will get some good ideas by watching. Also little and often is my policy. Watch other youtube channels and you will soon find the best way for yourself. Do you have water on your site. Looking forward to catching up on your other videos. 👍👍👍👍👍
Just discovered your first video, going to catch up. I think it is a great space. Can I suggest finding an alternative to the grass under the trees and paths. It would save some work by not having to mow.
Just subscribed! And im going to binge watch your videos, as ive just got my first allotment plot in April and like you have no idea ehat im doing! Ha!

@@CraigsAllotment You're welcome! (hope its helpful)
Yes!!!! Charles Dowding is world famous!
What a fab plot! Looks like it was well loved. You could even have some chickens up the top for eggs and use their poop for fertiliser.
I have every intention of getting chickens 🐔 next spring. I had them in my previous garden before we moved to this area :)
Lovely plot buddy the one I got was an absolute jungle but plodding through.
Best of luck❤
One step at a time, easy does it

Yep, it's a good size 👍
Looks pretty tidy for a new (to you) plot happy planting 🍅🌿🫛🫘🥔🥒 if you can have a pond any frogs will help keep the slugs under control 🐸🐌
Everyone's going to hate me but we get very few slugs due to the surrounding trees which are full of birds.
Pigeons however are a different matter
Brilliant plot!!! Love the orchard😊
