    I had it for about 2 months as well. Really like it. I got the maxed out spec version.
    However, it THERMAL THROTTLE HARD. It drops to 2.1Ghz sustain and the keyboard gets warm to touch. You won't able to undervote after the new bios update due to security patch from Intel.
    You might as well get the I5 version with integrated graphic card to save you some money.

    I was a big Vaio fan, so after Vaio is more for sale in Europe, I have to find another alternative. Since Huawei is baned from the US, I am forced to buy Huawei to help it. Fact: I bought X Pro 2020 weeks ago, I AM IMPRESSED! Crazy laptop no doubt! Best experience of using a Win laptop ever.

    I have used the last gen Matebook X Pro for the last two years, meanly for conferences and traveling. It's excellent. The only thing missing is the Huawei share NFC sticker. I've heard that the Huawei stores in China can give you an update of the NFC sticker for the last-gen. Gotta get one when going back to China, Unfortunately, I haven't found a Huawei store in the Bay area, not sure about the EU.

    • @TechMagnet

      Sticker? The old geb has the nfc hardware aswell ?

    • @yuwang255
      @yuwang255 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechMagnet Huawei China said that Matebook X Pro 2018 along with other two older notebooks can be updated to Huawei Share 3.0 by adding a NFC sticker. The service is free in China, but I'm not sure if it's available in EU. Source: news.mydrivers.com/1/626/626565.htm .
      In terms of hardware, my understanding is that the data transfer is based on WIFI and/or Bluetooth, but NFC is needed to initialize the matching. So the added NFC sticker is just needed to provide the WIFI matching information (such as MAC code) and credential verification. The NFC sticker does not need to be wired to the Matebook, it may have a passive cord to accept energy from the NFC scanner in the Huawei Phone.

    Do you think this particular laptop has any reason to be jealous over the other popular laptop lines, like the XPS series, the Lenovo's X1 Carbon or Apple's Macbook? This laptop seems to pack a lot of value for how much it costs and there doesn't seem to have a lot of hype around it around the Internet. Thanks!

    Hello! My Matebook X PRO completely crashed while under the warranty and the Huawei refuses to fix my product. Since the 2nd of September 2020 my laptop is in their repair shop and they refuse to fix it as it is destined for USA market whereas I live in Switzerland. People should know how Huawei threats their customers and how little support they offer to their customers.

    I actually had to return this because i was so displeased with it after only 1 or 2 weeks.
    Constant overheating even if i just have alot of tabs open at the same time + some other light programs.
    Very noisy machine overall. You can tell it only got 1 fan and it is overworking even if you do the lightest tasks.
    Can't play any games what so ever, if you think the overheating is the worst problem it is not at all. The fact that it doesn't even run games in 3000x2000 resolution, i don't even get full HD with horrible fps (20fps with lag drops). Tried to run them with Nvidia graphics card, but no difference.
    Lastly, there is a problem with some programs or tabs in my browser being too bright depending on my battery level and battery life settings.
    Im actually really displeased with a laptop like this that is brand new and for this price that is just so bad, and i don't even care about the atrocious camera placement, incredibly short charger and lack of keys on my keyboard. Yeah it is very light, slim, good looking, pretty screen and very fast startup with 1TB SSD, but that's it.

    Hi, not sure if you van help me but I would like to ask if it can handle Sims 4 on high settings with all DLC and a lot of custom content like at least about 8GB and then basic movie watching,internet,word,some photo/video edit from time to time and of course my ten year old laptop can't handle anything anymore so I am thinking about this one as I also have Huawei phone and I love the design, but its quite expensive so I was wondering if its worth it and also suitable for my needs or if I would get something better/as good as for less. Thanks :)

    Don't know why, but my experience is very bad regarding this device. Customer service is also garbage. My keyboard was not working properly within six month. Got repaired it, after couple of month the was not turning on. After contacting with their customer care service, the told me that the motherboard is burnt and have to pay 96k bdt (1120 USD) to replace it,
    that means although it was under warranty period, I have to pay one lakh bdt (1120 USD) more to repair a device that I bought nearly with 200k bdt (2200 USD) just few month back. This is very frustrating. Neither the product, nor their service are good. Very disappointed to see such thing. Strongly suggesting not to buy this device and also keep in mind their poor customer support also.

    It is nothing wrong with the information in this video BUT why al those dissolves, I watched 80% of this video and got so angry due to that you could not stop making dissolves. Let us put it this way as a once famus director wrote "if you can not make a suitcase from a pigs ear please dont". Im 72 years and worked as a filmeditor and video editor for 42 years at Swedish Television (and photografer) and IF I would have edited a couple of programs this way they would NOT have kept me more than a week. IF you want to use dissolves ONLY use those for like a transportation from one location to another or to show a distance in time. But keep up the work but make it better. (Sorry for my swedish/english typing)

    Olle Jonsson

    13:33 , "mobile i7" mobile i7 or ULTRA mobile i7 ?
    you said it is an ultrabook, i have a broadwell i7 ultrabook with "U" ultra mobile i7 processor
    and the performance is much lower than a mobile i7 and the mobile i7 is already much lower in performance than a desktop i7
    also not a good time to buy a laptop/ultrabook right now especially an ultrabook , everything is changing ,intel is about to lose big time and things are moving away from x86 and over to ARM ,I'm not really a fan of this move but i am also not a fan of intel and their shitty mobile and ultramobile chip , their poor TDP and their false advertising and shit battery life that is ALWAYS lied about
    i an curious to see what ARM will have to offer but i really don't like the idea of being able to run legacy x86 programs either
    i feel like computers are going to become giant glorified cellphones that run glorified upscaled "apps" and rely heavily of cloud computing

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would not worry about Windows on ARM, that has been another miserable fail by MS so far. We shall see if Apple Silicon based on ARM architecture is done properly and if it does indeed make Intel look sub-par then maybe it is the right direction. However, MS has to get Windows to run natively and efficiently on ARM and I do not think they are capable of doing that in the medium-term.
      Yes, having cross-platform uniformity will mean that phone/tablet apps can easily port to laptops and Apple look like making that switch very easy for developers. For most people that will be fine especially as iOS apps are far slicker than some X86 apps.
      I agree this is a transition period; will Apple Silicon live up to consumer expectations, will Intel ever get close to their business model (Apple Silicon will be 5nm in the new Macs), will AMD continue with their improvements or is that simply a one-off gain in CPU performance? The good thing is that the rise against Intel’s monopoly has finally started and that can only be good for consumers in the long run.

    • @andreamitchell4758
      @andreamitchell4758 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andyH_England yes true , the two things that concern me most are
      companies moving stuff to cloud computing like they have already done with office and the not being able to run x86 legacy software making us rely on un crackable software "apps"
      i can see them using the excuse that programs like final cut pro bring able to run on all devices from entry level ipads to ipad pros to mac books so they will offer a cloud version
