Glad to help. Remember it not work with all files, only files with the position reference, if the file was modified in any way after the artist cut it, it loses the reference, but it's always good to try it, when it works, it's a time saver
@@HobbyistLife Olá. Estava procurando justamente um software que fizesse isso, e o seu vídeo foi perfeito. Com sorte consegui encontrar o 3D Builder no google, pois a microsoft o removeu do catálogo. Obrigado. P.S.: Acho que no passado já vi algum vídeo seu, mas não lembro qual era o conteúdo. xD
I've done this before and not all files will be in the right spot. Luckily when placing them together there is the magnet effect of the items fitting together in most cases. Still time consuming to do and I hoped you had a trick to save me time when manually manipulating. Also wanted to mention that sometimes when I merge in 3D builder it degrades the object and I have to use the smooth tool. Wondered if you have experienced this too.
Hi, Your channel is not sponsored, I give you so much respect for that. Could you do the water washable resin test? I can't find a reliable review. Do you have any opinion?
Hey, thanks man, what I do it's for hobby and help the community and I'm happy that people enjoy it. Which brand you would like to test? To be honest I only have Elegoo water washable here and I used it for some time but I had crack problems with hollowed models so I decided to not use it anymore, but I never tested other brands.
I have a question, maybe somebody can help me. If I do it this way, and then hollow the model (ChituBox, Lychee-Slicer), it will hollow every piece seperately. It's not a solid piece from the inside. How do you solve this problem? If I try to make holes in the slicer programms, sometimes the holes won't work. The programm doesn't allow it in some cases...
I also hope someone will respond here that hat a tip on how to correctly align parts that don't auto assemble. Than join an fill. Ps. I am also looking for a option how to partly hollow a complete model. So I can leave the base solid (to keep it from warping and toppling over) and to avoid resin enclosed arias.
Hi, you can use the slicers (chitubox or Lychee), also you can use 3d Builder, that comes with Windows. With any of those you will be able to open and see STL files.
It will need supports regardless, the point is not that. Those models are divided because they don't fit the print bed and it's an older notion of FDM printers. Nowadays resin printers have bigger build volumes and you can print an entire model with proper support. Majority of studios out there release their models in one piece. But I know lot of people that prefer multi pieces, it's a matter of what works best for you.
@@HobbyistLife I see, yea if u can do the entire piece in one shot with resin definitely good thing to assembly everything in 3d before. :D im just using 2 ender 3's and i personally like the split apart models. Mostly cause if u give it to someone they "get the feeling" of putting it toghether even if is simple, it's like that feeling of making something with ur own hands hehe.
The ideia was to show that the files in many cases already have the position defined so you just need to open it in group and it will be in place..something I'd never noticed before and I believe many people too. Arrange the files manually it's just a pain, I've done that many times before I discovered that. Thanks for watching.
@@HobbyistLifeyes its a pain, your title of the video suggested that you knew an easy way of arranging the parts instead of opening them all up. Joining the parts the way you have has more than likely created internal geometry issues, the pegs are normally undersized for the holes, by joining the parts you may have created resin voids.
@@mrgriff9648 never had problem with it, done it many times and with different prints, but it's a curiosity and suggestion. Thanks for your comment. And at least for me it's an easy and quick way, never opened then all at once to knew that they just positioned perfectly automatically.
Sometimes i have a problem... i put all pieces on the program but they aren't assembly and i have to positioning the parts in the correct location myself and it's impossible. Can you help me please?
Hey man, if the files do not have the original references from the software used to make the cuts, it's not possible unfortunately. The artists need to release the original files output, if they change it after or save again for any reason, it loses the reference tags and it's not possible, you need to have this hell of a job to mount it manually. I will try to find ways to do that, If I find I will post here. Sorry for not have a good answer here.
@@ZarShul yeah, that's really a pain. But there's no magic, it needs to have the reference data for it to work, when the file is modified in any way, it loses that information (for example fix the STL).
It doesn't work for all files, the STL needs to have the reference of the original position in it, if the files was manipulated in any way, for example repaired and saved, it lost the reference and it's not possible to work with this hack.
Every time I pull them in to 3-D builder, it lays them out individually not one part has been put together yet. What am I doing wrong Bro
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Wow I didn't know that a lot of the parts would automatically assemble when opening together in 3d builder. Thanks
I didn’t either THANK YOU FOR THIS❤

maybe cut the piece in 3d builder. save them sepperate. hollow the piece you need and assemble them again
It saved me so much time and nerves! Many, many thanks!
Hi how you can see the stl files image ( image about what that sfl file is ) for example in Hulk head you could see Hulk head image
Can you sacle the model ? Even it part by part?

Showing how to arrange the files would have been much more useful instead of opening them and hoping someone else has done it.
