  • Add a battery and keep the same voltage. You can use a parallel connection to add as many batteries as you want and keep the voltage the same. I will demonstrate how in this video. Enjoy.
    Check out one of my favorite Lithium LifePO4 batteries used in the video..

    quick answer for all the people asking questions in the comments:
    2 x 12v 5ah battery joined in PARALLEL = 12v10ah (double the CAPACITY)
    2 x 12v 5ah battery connected in SERIES =

    simple question for the people with knowledge about the subject:
    i got 6 batteries, 12 volt and i dunno howmany amphours. In series. So roughly 72 to 80 volt or so....Gel batteries to power a scootmobiel.
    I also got 2 gel batteries in my shed, came out an older type scootmobiel.
    Is there a way to hook em up to the 6 batteries so to increase the amphours, if only for just a tiny bit?
    The electric system of this scootmobiel can not handle more than what the 6 batteries put out (in series).
    So, do i need to have 6 batteries parallel to the 6 that are already there, or can i get a bit more amphours by hooking up just 2 to the 6 that are already there?
    Muchos Graçias for the reply, if any.

    • @fullmoonadventureclub

      You're totally fine to hook those up in parallel with that difference in voltage. However, it is recommended that you use two batteries that are near the same age and have the same amp hour capacity. Not all batteries are the same.

      No. If you connect two 6 volt batteries in parallel your voltage will remain at 6 volts. If you would like to 6 volt batteries to produce 12 volts you need to connect them in series. I have a video on that as well.

      As mentioned, same voltage is the key. Actually I'm not an expert just that I "know" equal V is critical. I too wondered about any disadvantages to parallel connecting two batts of diff ah. Should "work" of course but there must be a reason we never put AA and AAA in the same device despite having the same 1.5V

    Can you put a 100ah breaker switch in beetween the cables so if you want you can disconect one battery both my batteries are 100ah each leshure batteries wired the same as yours i just want to add a breaker switch bear in mind the breaker switch is 100ah and the combined batteries would be 200ah hoping someone can advise me .

    • @fullmoonadventureclub
      @fullmoonadventureclub  ปีที่แล้ว

      They 100-amp breaker is fine as long as you only plan on pulling less than 100 amps of power. The main thing is you should match your breaker to the maximum amount of current that your wiring can handle. If your breaker is bigger than your wiring capacity and there is a short it could cause a fire.

    Is it okey to parallel a car battery by mixxing the old and the new battery?

    • @fullmoonadventureclub
      @fullmoonadventureclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will technically work but will probably degrade the new battery prematurely. Both batteries will not equalize or hold the same charge properly unless they are both preferably the same type, brand, voltage, and capacity. It is best to start with two new batteries when dealing with lead acid batteries in parallel.

      No you need to match the gauge of wire to whatever amount of power you're going to be moving from batteries to inverter and so on. 2 gauge wire can handle around 1000 to 1500 watts depending on the quality of The Wire and distance it will be run.
