How many ounces was the prime rib? Tony Roma's at the Freemont Casino has an 8 ounce prime rib with mixed vegestables and baked potato for $8.99 on the early bird special 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. They also are known for their ribs.

My wife and I last stayed at the Cal in February 2020, and had dinner at the Redwood Grill. I’m a prime rib man, and I have to admit, that was one of the most delicious prime rib dinners in all of Las Vegas. Can’t believe since they reopened, it’s no longer on the menu. We’ve been going to the Cal since the 80’s, and always saved one night for prime rib at the Redwood Grill. Oh well, looks like it’s on to Lawry’s.

I am so sorry that your experience at Market St. at the Cal was so dissapointing. I agree that the Prime Rib there can be hit and miss. Your prime rib looked horrible and I remember having my share of disappointing prime rib there also. Yet, like you mentioned, sometimes it comes out pretty good, like your friends prime rib. Yes, I agree that the Cal has been lacking in all aspects, not only the food establishments but the property as a whole. It has been my home property for years and years but now I am considering staying elsewhere.
Thanks for you honest review and your patience for what seemed like a very disappointing experience.

In the UK and here in east coast of Canada... Haddock and Cod are the white fish of choice (as well as Halibut, but thats a lot more expensive). Haddock is generally a little more expensive than Cod and is my personal choice for the best fish n chips (has a slightly more "fishy" taste). Not surprised Las Vegas doesn't nornally get Haddock, as its an Atlantic fish.

It wasn't too bad, really... there was about 3 or 4 members of the staff joking around with me at the end about the boxes. Because at first I thought it was ridiculous too, and started saying stuff. Then I saw that they were in a dilemma about it too, wanting their food & beverage manager to do something about it. It was ok.
