Nice test, they were certainly put through their paces. Like the idea of using the Earth Pack as a light but waterproof day bag as well.
It is indeed a cracking bag, with a waist strap too, plus 3 pockets (2 inner, 1 outer) 👍

I heartily recommend wild swimming tow float bags. Not only can they provide extra flotation for you and your valuables and can act as a paddle float for self rescue but even when uninflated there are two layers of PVC that any water would have to get through instead of just one.

Thinking of sourcing the black bag for my go to bug out bag but wondering if the straps would be comfortable with a roughly 40lb load?
I think it depends on the distance you're carrying it. It's not the type of bag you'd do a 20 mile hike with but for shorter distances I can't see you having a problem - they're pretty wide. The most important thing is how you pack your gear because there's no cushioning on the bag. So you need to pack with the softer stuff at the back and avoid 'pokey' bits 👍😁
lovely location to do your videos, great btw, I've watched a few, oh and on the point of your inflatable and trying to get back in, maybe use the length of your body to get in not just the top half, legs and torso at the same time? just an idea 👍

I am thinking about dry bag alternatives. These one have one big flaw, and that is they are simply a big bag, with very limited accessibility on the water. I need an alternative waterproof storage which can easily accessible even on the water and I can keep inside things organised. I am thinking about some kind of waterproof hard case which I can open easily on the water and keep the things dry even if it falls to the water. The top of the SUP is flat so using a crate type thing is logical.

@@MoreThanJustaCleaner A coolbox usually not waterproof at the top. Some kind of plastic toolbox should be better which used for storing cameras, but not one which is too heavy.

Can dry bags be fully submerged and of so how long for
Full submersion integrity would depend on the dry bag quality. In other videos I've done which were filmed the same day these bags got a lot of bashing about and dragged under water. In a subsequent video I used the smaller bag as an underwater buoyancy step to boost myself back into the boat. The ones here will take submersion. For how long... I don't know, because that's not what they're designed for. It's not something manufacturers test.
What happened to the ducks , did you scare them all off.......on a more serious question, did you do a control bag.....ie. a zip lock bag from a supermarket or similar

Considering a couple of them are actually packs... Not sure how that would work...
