      @@BlueEffigy It's extremely durable and made with a less thick, more flexible material to form a better seal. The backpack is 1680D, this is 420D but don't let the numbers fool you. I'll take whatever is thrown at it.

    I'm pretty sure all of mine are PVC and nylon . But for my next one I plan to give them a try .
    $30 is not outrageous . May pick one up for my dry food , bred crackers cereal and powdered
    milk . PVC is used in almost all construction even medical facilities . Dialysis clinics have
    one of the best filtration systems in the world but they do use PVC for their medical plumbing .
    I know this because I have built many of them over the years working as a commercial superintendent.
    contains chemical additives including phthalates, lead, cadmium, and/or
    organotins, which can be to our health . Better to be safe .

    Gatewood, congratulations for adding another product. You know how to monetize a TH-cam channel with products that you use on your adventures. Other TH-camrs should take note. 😀

    • @GatewoodBrown
      @GatewoodBrown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Tom! Ya know, making gear I’m proud of was something I wanted to try out and see if there was support for it. I’m very fulfilled by my actual job so making money off the channel has never been a goal. Remote designs was a way to deliver value to the community while also helping the bottom line. This is an expensive hobby but it sure is fun!

      @@GatewoodBrown that is awesome man. Trucking industry is doing very well I'm no longer doing Hurricane Relief I am now doing UPS Christmas holiday shipping. I'm trying to hang in there. I got to have a second surgery done on both foot again. I'm having a lot of problems with my feet swelling up especially when I'm driving through the mountains. It is very hard to find footwear for a foot that is sz15 6 EEEEEE with very fat wide toe that is equally straight across making my foot 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my little toe. But I'm not letting this stop Me man. I have to drive barefooted 👣 now to help stop the swelling. I am schedule my surgery for after the holidays is over. Thank you for asking man it helping me get this off my chest.

      @GatewoodBrown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey cas! You’re wife has excellent taste in gifts haha. Regarding the San Marcos, it’s almost always flowing well enough to paddle. The website I use for flow is USGS. Basically just Google ‘(River Name) Flow Rate USGS’. That’ll get you exactly what you’re looking for

    • @GatewoodBrown
      @GatewoodBrown  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use it as my food bag! Perfect for that. I’d say this roll top is rated for brief submersions but you wouldn’t want it trapped under a log for long durations. If you’ve watched my videos you’ll see how we use it. Typical river trips it’s great for!
