    I have the Watershed Ocoee and the Watershed Chatooga. I have used the Ocoee every weekend paddling for the last 5 years. It has never leaked and it still looks brand new.

    Great video covering two quality products. I own Seal Line bags of various types and sizes and a couple bigger Watershed bags. I’ve always felt WS was better for multi-day and expensive gear and SL more for day trips.
    Personally a 5L Baja has been my go to for nearly 10 years. Plenty of space for the basics I almost always take: pin kit, first aid, food, headlamp, hip pad, extra socks, and sometimes walkies. I just don’t need 10L on most outings and not sure it would fit well in stern of my smaller boats, otherwise I’d be down w the Ocoee.
    Also, worth noting that to get best seal w roll down bags you want to be sure you are folding, not rolling. In other words, you want distinct flat section being repeatedly folded, not one smooth roll. And they definitely will not stay dry if left submerged like the WS seal can. I rarely take my phone, but when I do I put it in a waterproof phone bag inside the SL Baja.
    Correction: My current is a Seal Line Black Canyon 10L, but I fold it down a lot, and I did use a 5L Baja for years (and my wife still does). Maybe I should check out the Ocoee, but I have a feeling it won’t get as small as I want. 🤔

      crazy how good these seal lines are for the price and the ocoee watershed is pretty much the perfect stern dry bag for kayaks

    I have both bags and love them both! If I’m bringing my camera I will put it in the seal bag and drop it into the watershed bag. That’s pads it’s good and keeps it dry when opening the bag. I also leave a micro fiber towel in the water shed to keep my camera dry.

    Use both Seal Line and Watershed in Open water and River kayaking. Also have the mil grade from both. My first Baja bag is a 5L and is 14 years old.

      for the price those seal lines are really good deal

  • @riverviking5125
    @riverviking5125 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have both bags. With short, local trips, I'll use the Seal Line as it fits in my Rewind better than my Watershed. Usually I'm only carrying a first aid kit and food in the bag. For longer trips where I'm paddling a creeker and taking more gear, I'll use the Watershed.

    Where do you like to store the ocoee bag in your boat?
    I just upgraded my float bags to the futa, but I’m debating about grabbing an ocoee bag for between my legs. Biggest concern was then organizing where I keep my throw rope, and I’m a little nervous about getting a foot or something snagged in the handle of the bag. (Wouldn’t typically want to have this many bags in my boat, but I lucked out and I’m running the grand in March)

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually just clip the ocoee bag behind the seat if I’m in a hurry or need to get to it quick like for camera it’s between my legs clipped to the water bottle holder but 99% it’s behind me

    For self-support trips l only trust watershed with my sleeping, clothes & most of my food. I do use a seals bag for keeping my lunch & snacks in while paddling. That said, if it's challenging whitewater for me l'll put my lunch in zip locks then in the seals bag.

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have the same mindset I have some zip lock bags I put stuff inside seals bag but only trust watershed to anything of value

    Watershed all the way.
    For an unintentional test of how airtight Watershed bags are, put beef jerky still in store packaging in there, seal it up, and then open after a few hours, it assaults your nose.
    I had to air the drybag out for a a day or two after that. 😂

    The camera view of folding/rolling the top of the basic SL drybag was not good but it looks like you hardly did anything substantial to prevent leaks.

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So true I agree really need to make sure it’s a very tight roll to prevent leaks
