McDonalds used to literally give out mini hand held video games and actually cool gimmicky toys. I miss those days. Edit: I gotta say, Taco bell had some great toys in the early 2000's too from what I remember.

I used to work at Chickfla, and something that you can do is that kids can trade in their toys for ice cream cones if they want. Most kids I served did that option instead of having the toy, and you don’t even have to pay extra. Is basically a free ice cream.
You dont need a certain amount of toys to trade for an ice cream cone/cup. However many toys you have, you can trade in for that many ice cream cups/cones.

Littlest Pet Shop trading was a huge market in elementary school. Everyone was begging their parents to take them to McDonalds for those when I was a kid
Fun fact: last month Burger King in Russia had a kid meal with up to 4500 robux in it, it kinda a good deal because meal costs 300 roubles while if you buy robux directly it will cost 3500 roubles, but the catch is that not every meal will contain robux some of them will only contain current for burger king's place in roblox, so basically burger king makes profit on gambling addiction among kids, that shit is crazy

Best Happy Meal ever was the different Matoran from Bionicle. I told my dad i needed all 6 for my collection amd he took me probably 10 times in a week to make sure we got them all.

I think part of the reason there’s a lack of toys is because Hollywood doesn’t make as many movies made for kids anymore. It feels like almost everything coming out these days is at least PG-13+, so there’s not that many movies for fast food places to do partnerships for toys with. I remember McDonald’s always updated their toys pretty frequently when I was a kid, and they usually had something to do with a movie or tv show.
Or the fact that kids have tables and phones in their faces and legit don’t play with toys anymore. Plus gaming consoles. The early 2000s/2010s was the last of the golden years
Trust me there’s A LOT of entertainment directed towards kids, including movies and animated shows. They’re mostly in streaming platforms or on TH-cam. Every time I hang out with my nephews they’re always into some new franchise I’ve never heard of
My understanding was that it was a push to create less plastic waste that turned into corporate greed because they had a valid excuse to not include actual value as a "toy" while keeping the price the same

So even though there's not a toy In the meal, over time, you can get some cool stuff. My little sister loves the Culver's mascot plushy. I got her like a year ago
im so glad Charlie got a real live toddler to taste test them with him! really adds to the experience
Matt bonks his head at 7:55
Truly getting into the kid role there
Good
7:37 “I was gonna punch the table. I don’t have kid arms” and it immediately cutting to Charlie nearly killed me
Next will be an anger tier list. Which fast food spots had the worst attitude.
S tier:
McD's.
Popeye
every wendy’s on the planet
@@leonardocastellanos7344nah they just get your order wrong
Waffle House will be included, even though it's not a fast food place
I love these tier list videos. Because taste is so subjective it’s interesting to see them taste and rank the things i love even if they hate my favourites
I remember McDonalds had a thing where they gave you pieces of Inspector Gadget separately in Happy Meals and each piece did something different
Matt really went to the silly hat store for this one.
24:04 I don't think I've ever seen a more confident look of disgust.
I still never knew why LJS is so hated. I mean their food legitimately isn’t THE worst thing in the world.
I say it everytime their editors is doing gods work beautiful
i love matt, but the way he rips open every single fast food bag has me screaming
As a former kid myself I can say as a kid I would not have enjoyed any of those toys. Give me fun or give me big girl food.
We making it out the Mcdonalds playpen with this one 🔥🔥🔥
Fun fact for Charlie, the first Burger King was actually started in Florida
That explains a lot.
NOOOO
The Burger King mascot is probably too busy looking for Burmese pythons in the Everglades to give a fuck about the quality that's coming from the restaurants.
The secret meat they use for the US burgers @@KrazyKeith4
This is the greatest thumbnail this channel has ever had. I've never seen someone suit a propeller hat quite like Matt.
Surprised the Panda Express meal didn’t come with a sewing machine as a kids toy
Nah sowing machine is for teens kids get a cash register
Best Happy Meal ever was the different Matoran from Bionicle. I told my dad i needed all 6 for my collection amd he took me probably 10 times in a week to make sure we got them all.
YESSSS
I miss the good ol days of the 90’s when Fastfood Kids’ Meals gave you Animated Disney movie toys, Sonic toys, Batman toys,
and my favorites in Summer of 2001 we got Exclusive Bionicle characters from the Mata Nui Adventure Online Game in our McDonald’s happy meals and in Winter of 2001 we got LOTR light up and talk figures you could connect into a giant diorama surrounding the One Ring at Burger King … those were the days.
As an adult I still have those displayed on my Nerd shelf. Kids today are missing out
As a toddler, I approve of this video Charles.
As a 3/½ year old, this teir list is so accurate im actually amazed how they know what we toddlers think
10:54 when Charlie brings up the golden cards that McDonald's used to release I had a golden charizard exactly like that and I don't know where that is it pisses me off that I lost something that was so cool this video just reminded me of that and I didn't even know it was from McDonald's till now.
They were actually from burger king.
8:00 That got dark quick
Mom want to see a magic trick?
Caught me off guard💀😂
Funny tho
i never would of guessed what he said there that shit was hilarious
In Canada, there is a chain called Edo Japan that has an amazing kids menu
I haven't eaten in Canada since Bullwinkle's in 1989. Still around??
I'm Canadian and have never heard of this chain. Will have to look it up.
@@sunnysday59 I think the furthest east they are is ontario?
@@phoenixvance6642Ah, I wondered if that was the case. Thank you.
7:59This Caught Me So Off guard I Thought I Was Time Traveled To 2016 Again
Why do u type like that
Why do u type like that
charlie wearing the roblox hat rlly makes this whole video even funnier
Every time I hang out with my nephews they’re always into some new franchise I’ve never heard of
It's because kids are no longer kids they're Internet gremlins. I'm only 30 and I feel like the kids these days are farrrrr more advances
@@starseed3203we are older than Google and I'm only 30 lol
My understanding was that it was a push to create less plastic waste that turned into corporate greed because they had a valid excuse to not include actual value as a "toy" while keeping the price the same
The beanie babies were the only toy I ever thought wasn’t crap. I loved those things
I remember getting a Mcds hot wheels car with actual neon underglow and it was around the time Need for Speed Underground 2 came out. Glorious times!
I'm not the only one who finds it hilarious that Matt mistakes fireman for "Flame Daddy" right?
26:46
No. Apparently, the other people who were present in the video found it to be hilarious. You didn’t hear them laughing?
No. The others who were actively watching said video had also found it humorous, did you not realize?
Negative, the accompanying persons in the room at the particular time also found it rather comedic. Are you hard of hearing?
deaf ahh
bro charlie with the outta pocket joke on the sonic trick toy. absolutely caught me off guard and made me bust out laughing. saying that joke as well with a roblox hat makes it even funnier to me too
27:22 the way he reacted to that thing like it was a shot
What’s more disappointing than some of these happy meals, is the fact we never got one of Matt’s jokes for free
Nobody is going to mention the liminal space outside the window
The 101 Dalmatians McDonald's toys from the 90s were my most favorite of all. I have a Digimon toy I got from Burger King in the early 2000s as well. There were some really great toys back in the day!
23:59 they really went ahead and 'Lady and the Tramp'd that fish fillet...
Not enough soap in the world to clean that image out of my brain 😅
That was truly the best, most tasteful fanservice I've ever seen in a piece of media👏👏BRAVO👏👏👏
Matt ripping bags like a barbarian really adds immersion to the kids meal tier list
0:24 that hat is 🔥
8:38 just realized charlie is wearing a roblox hat
Nothing beats BK’s SpongeBob toys in the 2000s
Let me tell you a better joke
How expensive is a chimney?
It’s on the house
Toys from the early 2000s were top tier! I still remember those Pokémon Ball with Golden Cards inside 😭😭😭
23:02 I will say, my dad took me and my brothers to Long John’s once when we were young, and the day after we all got insanely sick, True Story.
10:38 Wendy’s toys use to be goated when I was little I remember putting together a dinosaur
Charlie wearing a Roblox Hat is the best thing I’ve seen today😭
I also love how honest they are about each meal
Mat is the biggest yes man a yes man could possibly be 😭
6:00 Okay, maybe IF BK actually started building play areas en mass, then we'd believe them.
25:45 I've been saying this forever about games and movies. People be like it doesn't matter if it's dogshit it's just for kids. Bruh kids deserve good things as well tf lol
19:40 Im from Tx and Dairy Queen always gave you a token for a mini blizzard. So when you got done you took it up there and chose your kind and the made it and did the flip. I really did feel empowering and memorable as a kid. I don't remember them having toys, but I remember the token.
