I was thinking the same. Tires that last an hour... Drivers who can use the throttle to steer the car... The only aero is built into the body shape... Recipe for great racing. Maybe this is the direction for Formula E?
Beautiful race, without doubt your production values and direction, camera work, are world class. What a battle at the end between the two E types! thank you for sharing, I must get to Goodwood someday. I especially liked the Aerial drone shots over the chicane and what is the most beautiful shot in all motor racing, the long shots of the cars on lavant and the back straight. Stunning. Sir Stirling would approve.
Thank you so much for bringing this race to us. It is some of the finest and closest historic racing I have ever seen. Sir Stirling would have loved it!
Beautiful, golden hour and drifting e-types. Priceless. Wish I could be there to really hear the sounds. Those long panning shots are amazing, isolating the cars against the beautiful background. Oh and the driving is nice as well :)
At 18.44 I said to myself there might be a problem here , I looked away from the screen for 2 seconds and then I heard the commentary , it was exactly what I thought
Just amazing, these guys racing priceless cars that hard, gotta love the enthusiasm, it would be a dream to see this in person. Thank you Lord March. Rj in Oz.
At least it seemed as if they were trying to get on with it. Have you seen the Stewards' Room at a typical Grand Prix.? 95 people, each equipped with with, at least, ten screens, each showing EVERY camera angle. And they STILL can't make a decision until everyone's gone home! PATHETIC!
They were a watered down D type, which was an absolute spaceship of a car in the 50s. So you've got something that was significantly cheaper but could keep up with the Ferraris in period, which meant lots of them got raced. That means you have lots of knowledge about these cars, and how to get the most out of them. That popularity continues into modern times as they're cheaper to acquire than most other cars on that grid, and since a lot of them are raced there's more people making parts for them. It's the same kind of advantage Honda Civics and Ford Mustangs enjoy - popularity drives development.
Also, because they were significantly cheaper, there was more made of them. There are about 65000 cars produced in all three series, compared to the Ferraris that was always in the low hundreds, very seldom over a thousand cars produced.
Yes it is. He's a famous car collector and historic racing driver. I estimate his collection over a hundred million euros, including one of the original Ferrari GTO's.
@@damiankubaa @Sento Isuzu You missed the couple of Austin Healey 3000s, the TVR Grantura and there are a couple of Porsche 356s as well - the Aston is a DB4GT
I wondered why I hadn't seen Martin and Alex Brindle racing their E-type this year. The Brundles love that car im certainly hoping she is ok. I guess these are the risks of Historic racing. Finally I don't see blue flags around the course for back markers knowing they're about to be overtaken by the leaders?? Am I missing them because of coverage?
Goodwood video editors, please, please provide dramatically more coverage of the whole field and the amazingly diverse range of other cars in these races. Yes, the four white E-types up front were battling but we miss out on all the other wonderful classics in this race and in all Goodwood race videos. Show the whole field off the start line right to the last car and consistently show back-markers of all types throughout the race. A few cars dominate each race and we miss out on all the other wonderful brands and car models in these events.
I wonder if any of these car are driven home at the end of the week? They have lights and turn signals, just slap a number plate on and you're good to go.
How can corvette look so great and be so not.cant blame it on engine position in this group. These races along with group c are far better then 2020 cars
Someone pointed out that any class with a huge air down force dependence tend to be boring. So F1 is a prime candidate for that, but also a few other modern classes.
A game of count the E-types...
would be my dream come true to race a 60s GT at Goodwood.
Oh my lord you've done it again. You can't buy class and you have it in abundance! Thanks, Matt.
@@bowlock9901 Oh gosh.
Would’ve been nice to round off with final results after penalties mentioned mid race
@@jk3838 Indeed. I too am now curious about that. Will have to try and find it elsewhere somewhere on the net.
F1 should take note...
Best racing i've seen since Goodwood 2019.
I was thinking the same. Tires that last an hour... Drivers who can use the throttle to steer the car... The only aero is built into the body shape... Recipe for great racing.
Maybe this is the direction for Formula E?
Goodwood always produces stellar racing, year after year it just delivers.
Im 21 and this is where i spend my weekdays thinking about a time befor me!!!! Awesome
Thank you for a man who invented goodwood festival. as a 98 born, i never feel how 60's and 70's racing looked like
Brilliant race! And some great filming! And a lovely evening! Thank you all!
I love watching GT racing from Goodwood! From Georgia USA
I'm sat here watching this in my pyjamas... and my flat cap! Glorious racing!
I can't even tell you how much I love this stuff! These guys effin DRIVE!!!
I love watching these Goodwood races.
The track lends itself to so many types of cars

Superb racing from the E's

Brilliant ! Just brilliant !
Fantastic race and the coverage was superb!
Thanks Goodwood - some fantastic racing! After the talk of penalties in the commentary, It would be nice to have a link to the final results

What a race, what a battle! Full marks to Cottingham for holding Huffy off, I would have liked to have seen Rob Huff win but it was an epic battle
Glorious noise.
Wow...this is so much fun to watch!!
Absolutely brilliant race!
LOVE the new camera positions!
This is just superb.
And not a 350 anywhere to be seen.........most excellent!
First! My gosh I cant wait to watch this
What a battle.
Wow , that was intense from first to last lap .
Why are the E types so dominant?
Lots of power

Yes it is. He's a famous car collector and historic racing driver. I estimate his collection over a hundred million euros, including one of the original Ferrari GTO's.
What other cars are in the race? I can only make out the Shelby Cobras, Jaguar E-Types (obiously lol) Lotus Elite, Ferrari 250 SWB...
Astons DB4 or and DB6 Corvette Stingray MG MGA Alfa Romeo Giuletta i presume

Awesome 👌 😎
This would be perfect if they displayed driver names along with their car numbers.
Look at all the E-TYPES. !!!!!

Have they always brake so hard so the disks glow even back in the 60's?

Old cars are the best for racing

F1 is SOOOO overrated.....

"La Corsa Piu Bella Del Mondo" - that is the Mille Miglia.
I wonder who disliked this video.
Adrian Willmot and his team.....Rather embarrassing. You'd have thought he'd have learned after witnessing Jochen Mass doing it twice in a row...
Third! But who cares?!
Why does Rob Huff live in Dubai? What a horrible place to live.
