Did you notice the guy standing up on the top tier who was almost in tears? That is Yusif Eyvazov who is married to Anna Netrebko, both well-known opera singers. What does it say about her performance if she could move him to tears? Yes, she is18 and that is very early in her development, but I think she is a true contralto. As she matures, I hope that she will develop into a full dramatic contralto. She does have an operatic sound in some sections but doesn't focus on opera. If she chooses to go in that direction, I think opera houses around would love to have her perform with them.

Diana was born in May 2003 in the Far East of Russia. (Height: 1,70 m/ 5,7” ) She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman who gave birth to her had many pregnancies, only Diana survived ... and she abused the child and tried to drown it. One day this 3 year old child was found at a bus stop with a broken collarbone and taken to an orphanage.
There she finally found love ... by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist who treated the children from the children's home. Diana came to a poor but loving family when she was 5 years old.
Diana spoke badly, cried a lot and was still very scared, but she could all sing songs from cartoons. A doctor recommended singing lessons. And so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started …
Diana has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest and lowest female voice type (her range C3-D6). Diana's voice also sometimes has a polyphonic undertone. You hear: Her voice sounds an octave below the singing voice. (But not everyone can hear that.) Diana also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl.
Diana impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions.

Diana breaks all vocal stereotypes, she happily uses her entire range with her music. She's not afraid to try an hit the lows, she sounds best there to me. Yet her higher tones (that she's been working on) make me think of a mythical siren with a voice that just commands attention.

Welcome to the world of Diana Ankudinova! To answer your question about Diana's vocal range, in 2017, her range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5. As of September 2021, her functional range was measured from a low of C3 to a high of B♭5. Diana was only 18 years old when this performance took place during the 2021 season of a vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn". This cover of the Elvis Presley classic "I Can't Help Falling In Love" now belongs to Diana and it really demonstrates that Diana Ankudinova has a true contralto sound. Did you notice the guy standing up on the top tier who was almost in tears? That is Yusif Eyvazov who is married to Anna Netrebko, both well-known opera singers. What does it say about her performance if she could move him to tears? Yes, she is18 and that is very early in her development, but I think she is a true contralto. As she matures, I hope that she will develop into a full dramatic contralto. She does have an operatic sound in some sections but doesn't focus on opera. If she chooses to go in that direction, I think opera houses around would love to have her perform with them.

The only thing I missed was a few words if there were any emotion you personnaly felt experiencing the performance, you shared your professional opinion, and what your mind says, but a few words from your heart, from your soul if it was affected at all would complement the video perfectly. Like when a skilled person tells technique how a painting was made, about the compostion,
but holds back what's her impression, feelings when looks at it. (I'm not native in English, so i try to communicate my thought multiple ways for better understanding :) )
About Diana, our little gem, white crow, black pearl:
Diana's Past, recommend checking some of her earlier performances, believe me when I say they are sang by a kid but not sound like one.... ;)
She is singing since little child, auditioned for Voice Kids at age of 13 but got no votes (20M+ views on her Jodel time attempt making it the most viewed audition of any non chosen performer).
Then at age of 14 her "You are Super!" era started: they made a show for kids with tormented background, where they made funny, beautiful performances, like sailors dancing around them, etc.
Then Diana entered, with a voice of an Earth goddess. And since the crew was highly professional they did excellent job giving her the opportunity to shine. She took it,
won that season (Season 2), and the season 3 (Super Season where the best returned) at age of 15.

Yes, this is Diana (pronounced as "Dee-ana") also known as the "Queen of goosebumps". This particular performance is very intense and devastating. Diana is merciless in her vocal attacks. And there is a strong element of magic in this performance. Thank you for your detailed analysis.
