Looks very much like down town Erdington to me….i left England for the states back in 1982, I remember this route and passing Hycroft Mental institution back in the day, use have cousins that live a street or two from there….good old days fleeting by fast.
Thank you Shinto Lee Tours for sharing this. My mom took me on the number 11 outer circle back in the seventies, we traveled the entire route back and forth, one of the greatest highlights of my life I tell you. I remember the drivers compartment door and all that noisy loose metal that used to surround the driver use to be so crazy , but I loved it.

Moved from Brum to Scotland in 1975, and in conversation some years ago couldn't remember the name of Hycroft asylum, it's annoyed me ever since so thanks for solving my problem.

A very enjoyable journey, around my home city. where I lived from 1941 to 1955. Most familiar was the north of the city suburbs, despite many changes. Most impressive was how clean and tidy it looks, and despite the traffic, it kept moving very well, even though I increased the vid speed a touch. It was good to be able to freeze the screne, so as to read (most) of the traffic direction signs. Shame that --whatever it is, on the top left corner of the windscreen, which sometimes obscured the Signs. Well done.

The number 11 used to go the whole way round the City, but when Perry Barr was being constructed the buses were showing short runs only such as 11C Perry Barr, what I do not understand is, if some one wants to go past Perry Barr do they need to change buses or does the bus just carry on past Perry Barr to Erdington.

It's the same 11C From Acocks Green but with two destinations taking different routes. One to Edington via Perry Barr and the other one direct to Perry Barr.

@@sintoleetours.7633 What I mean is say you get on at Soho Road and want to go to Acocks Green and the bus is showing 11C to Erdington, do you stay on that Bus to Acocks Green and the bus changes it's destination at Erdington or do you have to change buses to complete your journey from Erdington to Acocks Green.on a different 11C bus. These Buses are showing 11C or 11A but do not show " Outer Circle" but only show short working destination when in fact if they are only doing short workings and not the full Outer Circle they should by right be showing 11E ( exception to the full route ), this idea was only set up while Perry Barr was being rebuilt removing the Island, Flyover and the Commonwealth Games Village, but seems for some reason confusingly become permanent.

You have to change bus. The bus service will terminate at its destination blinds location. You will need to catch the 11C again from Perrybar or Erdington. ( the very first stop of the 11C to Acocks green service is near/outside the new perrybar train station by one stop shopping center. You now always need to read the destination blinds from perrybar to Erdington. The one that reads 11C Acocks Green is the service that continues past Erdington. Hope that helps.

@@1bz2002Thanks for the information but this is totally ridiculous as this Bus route was only changed because they were rebuilding Perry Barr for the Commonwealth Games and taking down Perry Barr flyover on the Walsall Road and rebuilding the island over Perry Barr under pass, as all this is now practically complete the number 11 Buses should as the route actually is go full Circle as like that can not claim to be the longest Bus Route in the UK or the Wold. The Number 8 Inner Circle Bus still circumnavigates the City.
