Level 700 and this video finally simplified things enough to build the camp I envisioned from the start! I like how you show us bugs and figured out a workaround in real time. Learning *with* you is a great to learn. Thank you!
Awesome video! I have a couple if tricks/tips to add, if I may. 1. I like to do what I call the self powered vendor. Basically, you get a standard vendor, may work with other vendors, and a solar generator. Place the solar on top of the right side of the vendor and connect the wire. Get a pressure plate, or use the terrain, and merge the solar down into the vendor to desired height. I sink it until you can't see the metal barrel at the bottom. Now, you have a powered vendor that can be placed just about anywhere. Note: if placing the vendor inside, make sure to sink the solar a bit more to fit under the ceiling/roof. 2. For hiding wires or running long distances without pylons everywhere. If the connector is going on a wall, get out a wall sign. Just about any of the signs work, I personally use the "No Smoking" sign for its size. Place a connector on the sign. Hook the power up to the connector. Grab the sign, not the connector very important, move it a couple of inches and place it back down. Now, you should be able to grab the sign again and move it to any wall in your camp and the wire will magically follow, through anything in its path. If you want a connector on the floor, its the same process, except use a small rug. Pay close attention to the path from your power source to the connector, you could end up with a wire running right through your bedroom, which would defeat the purpose. I use this trick all the time. It works extremely well, especially with the red rocket wall connector and proper planning, it just looks like a cool red rocket on my wall because you can't see the wire. Hope this helps anyone.
Those work pretty well. I used to run a lot more power now I just hide generators in things and spot power. You can do the same thing with the small atom shop generator on the vendors and it's completely hidden. with interior that works or just hide a generator in any object it will fit in.
@@rotomon I like that idea, I wonder though, if several small generators would eat the same amount of budget as one, let's say, fusion generator, or more? I do like the idea though because in your example there would most likely be no wires showing, whereas with my method there still could be a wire here and there peaking out.
Great tutorial! If you have a chance you might want to do one additional video showing the floor/ wall décor and conduit method. It is very visual so it would do much better in a video. However, I am sure you are familiar with it basically you build an object like a rug and place a regular conduit on it, run a wire from the conduit to a generator. Then pick up the rug a couple of times and move it slightly. The wire is then "magic" and the rug can be moved any distance and the wire will not break. You can do this same method with paintings and almost any camp object. One thing I have done in the past is to put the rug hanging over the edge of a raised foundation , place a power conduit on the bottom of the rug, power the conduit move the rug slightly a couple of times and then move the rug and place it at the junction of foundations. This hides the wire completely in the foundations. Take care, GreedyNewt972
I never understood how to do power. Wish it was a bit more intuitive in game. Also, that double wall bit seems especially useful. Appreciate the guide/tips.
I always say everything is complicated until it isnt. The game definitely does not hold your hand with it. I'm glad to have helped. You're more than welcome to ask how to do something specifically I could show you on stream or make a video on that if needed.
Fun trick to add to generator section. If u want to hide ur generator you can put it on the Trasher Egg in the current season pass and after connecting your generator to whatever u need or just a temporary conduit. Then shoot the egg and the generator will disappear but still be powering your items.
@@rotomon wasn't expecting a response from such an old video. Your video is great at explaining and showing many helpful tips. I love learning all the tricks. @@MunchyKrunch The game has so many weird interactions. One of the best newer ones is that industrial skin for the fusion generator makes it function without wires. @@MsJessProductions For the most part unless you are running something that needs connected directly the spot power works great. half the time I'll even just do the spot power and a single small generator or solar panel for vendors.
