Saif, congratulations on bringing out second video on Air India's tradition of naming its aircraft. Sad to see them not following the same tradition on their Dreamliners. Its amazing how naming of aircrafts immediately allow a personal connect with the users, staff and fliers alike. As usual, this video goes beyond realms of superficial explanations. Kudos to the research that you must have done to make these two videos possible. In my opinion these should be taken up by Air India as a standard film on their Inflight entertainment module. For people like us, such videos keep the flame burning that one day Maharaja would regain his lost glory. Keep them videos coming!
Beautiful video Capt Saif!!! So so informative, especially for an AvGeek like me. I think TATA may get back the tradition of naming the aircrafts back if it wins it's bid for Air India. Afterall, it's more than just naming, it's about giving the aircraft a human figure.
Thanks for the awesome video about the modern fleet of Air India and their names and livery. I feel that Air India should continue this naming trend in future new aircrafts.
Under Tata, the newly leased B777s are being named again, but not as states but names which signify new beginnings. First 3 are named Vihaan, Prabhat, Alok, with the few more remaining to be named after receiving the deliveries. Edit: As of Oct 2023, all 5 Delta jets have arrived. Now 77Ws used previously by Singapore and Etihad are being delivered. It seems that the 77Ls are named after boys names and 77Ws after girls names.

The Air India Boeing 777 flying on the route Delhi to Chicago should be named as SWAMI VIVEKANANDA
I have always thought the Air India scheme looked best on the -400.
