    Great video👍 Tried a 5 hybrid in March Cobra F Max, in the bag since. 185+ yards. Chip and runs uo to 100+ yards. ( club course has shocking amount of mature tree Canopy immediate off fairways). Love long irons but love a saved score card more👍5hybid, 7w 180-230 rogue, 3w 210-250 rogue. Driver 230-280! Wind and slope lye pending.

      I play off 16 and use a 5 hybrid, probably my favourite club in the bag as you can do so much with it. People need to realise that they aren’t just for poor ball strikers and older players. My iron set it a callaway pro set so I’m reasonably good at striking irons but why make the game harder ??

    It’s about time you put a Cleveland product on the show. I’ve gamed this club since early spring, it’s the best club out there for anyone who has trouble with traditional 3-woods.

    I hit a used Big Bertha B21 9 wood at Edwin Watts the other day. I should have bought it. So easy to launch. It carried about 160-165, which is 6 iron distance for me, but soooooooooooo easy to hit.

    Surprised I got the 1st 3, thought the 5th would be a hybrid at that yardage with a head cover. I have a 7 wood already.
    I just got a chipper. I can see the value in the club, but as Andy said it took some getting used to. I don’t think I am going to keep it, but I do see the value, and again, for the average golfer.

    James, you certainly can hit a low tragectory shot with a 5 Hybrid with a bit of shaft lean and turn the club into a 3 or 4, as you just found out. You lose a bit of distance doing it because of the lowere flight. I play that sort of shot with my TaylorMade Stealth 5 Hybrid a lot. It is a great club for help my game as a 25 handicapper.

    Great video guys, said to myself no more buying clubs 😂 bought 7 wood this morning for that exact confidence and getting the ball in the air, definitely consider the stealth dhy and maybe 9 wood, I’ll be going round with 20 clubs in the bag at this rate 😂😂😂

    The Cleveland smart sole chipper is very simular to the new Ping ChipR

    • @gcoffey223
      @gcoffey223 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      More like Ping copied Cleveland. For good reason. I had an old rescue sole 60° I loved. Picked up some cbx 2's 52, 56, and kept my 60. Recently added a 3W so Inhad to take out a club. Took out my cleveland niblick. Missed my chipper, loved my rescue sole, so I picked up the 3 Smartsole 4's. My gap and sanwedge cover my replaced 53, 56, and 60, and I love the smartsole 4 chipper more than my niblick. A few weeks later I saw ping came out with their version òf the smart sole. Pingbis great but I'll stick to tried and true perfection when it comes to the short game, Cleveland.

    Hi James
    Any chance you could review golf gloves at all, tips on what to look for, wet weather gloves and with the heat we’re having and sweaty palms are there grip options that help?
    I know you say the Kirkland gloves from Costco but I can never see these on the Costco web site but are on amazons site. Also looking at where does your glove wear out does it indicate wrong grip, too tight a grip as I go through gloves at a pretty rapid rate

    • @gcoffey223
      @gcoffey223 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ping, odysee, callaway all make great chippers. For me, it's my Cleveland chipper. Point is, a lot bof people think putting with an iron is just as good. Maybe for some, but a new chipper is designed to do that one job and the soles are designed differently to maximize turf interaction and limit misshits. Also, I can hit my chipper 130 -140 yards goofing around on the range for fun.
      Bag a chipper and without even trying or understanding your new club's feel and distance you will save strokes. We are pretty foolish as non pros to not bag one

    • @guyr7351
      @guyr7351 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep as soon as saw that I knew what club it was, I always look at that cutout on pings and think does it not weaken the club.

    Interesting how long irons are being used less and less. I made the mistake of ordering 3,4 iron in my Wilson D7 forged. Returning to the game after 25 years or so and I could always hit 3 and 4 iron well previously. I’m getting there but strike is so inconsistent, have a 3H and it basically replaces those clubs. At the course I play I typically use 3W, 3H 6,7,8,PW, 52 so carrying 5 clubs I rarely use.
    I’m 62 and can see in 5 yrs 5 wood type clubs and a few short irons and if buy a chipper maybe a few irons less

      Cleveland chipper vs PING chipper. Hope someone does a comparison, they won't
      But should. I play the new cleveland chipper and simply put, it's
      a weapon.

    • @Clubber_Lang
      @Clubber_Lang 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gcoffey223 I have the Cleveland chipper as well. I love it from 20-50 yards out. Gives me 125 yards full swing, which I only do in rescue situations out of a bush or bad lies. But in close around the fringe it's very head heavy and even with a short stroke it tends to blast past the cup. I'm hoping the ChipR gives me more control in close.

      Great question.
      I added a 3 wood so I took my cleveland niblick chipper out. That left me with 3 wedges, a 52, 56, and a 60. LOVED THEM ALL but missed my chipper. Got the full set of smartsole4 wedges which is 50, 58, and
      chipper. As much as I loved my cbx2's and old school "rescue sole" 60, those 3 wedges do everything I need. Turns out they are even easier to hit than my cbx2 wedges.
      So, basically, a little re-gapping was the trick and not a bad price at all. Sorry to take so long to get back to you.
