A tip that works for me - I pack my travel makeup and skincare a week (or at least 4 days) ahead then use it at home before my trip. That way it’s easy to see how everything works and if I’ve missed anything. This gIves me time to make adjustments or swap things out if I need to. Then I’m good to go!
I travel with a Bobbi Brown foundation stick. It's also good as a concealer, and I don't even have a separate concealer at home anymore. It shouldn't be a TSA item anymore than a lipstick is, but it doesn't take up much room in case I want to be sure.
I love packing tips! Like you, I keep a toiletry bag semi-stocked at all times, and in it, a checklist of things I need to add and replenish. My brushes, travel mirror, manicure set, cotton pads, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, refillable containers, etc. live in it. Another thing I do is fill up the bag ahead of time and use it to get ready every morning for the entire week before I leave. That way I make sure I haven't forgotten something really important, like my holy grail sunscreen, or heavens forbid, the insertion and removal tools for my scleral lenses, which I would have great difficulty sourcing depending where I go. Also, like you, I love travel size versions of favorite beauty products. I'm a devoted decanter, yet find that there are a few products that dispense and keep better in their original packaging, so I often buy the travel size just to have the container and refill it as needed. I'm not sure why, but there are some items from which I derive a certain level of comfort in seeing them in their familiar packaging. One thing I do differently: lipsticks. Lips are "my thing", so I *must* travel with many color choices. I depot my favorite lipsticks into tins that I carry in a 9-pan refillable palette and customize depending on the colorstory I've decided to pack. I often use use those same lipsticks as blush, and some work as eyeshadow bases too! Thanks for this video, it was very enjoyable.
I work for an airline and travel frequently. I watch these travel make-up videos on occasion and never learn anything new or helpful. I have NEVER heard of the contact lens case hack- GENIUS!!!!!

Yes please do more travel friendly tips for makeup/skincare! Perfect - perhaps with a few less expensive options for travel makeup bags - $88 a bit pricey. Travel eye palettes a must!
I’ve been a member of IPSY for quite a long time and I love the size products they send and often times they are brushes. The bonus is the cute little bags you get to choose how to use. As a flight attendant, I live for these sizes!
Yes please a video on travel eyeshadow palettes. I think once you recommended a Tom Ford palette because thin and had lots of options. Would love to hear about even more options. Thank you.
Let me first say that I love ALL your videos but this one is a BIG time favorite for sure! I have struggled with packing my makeup and toiletries for sooooo long I lost track. I always end up with a bunch of different overstuffed bags inside a bigger bag, taking 3 times as long to get ready and not to mention the frustration of hauling all the bags into a hotel bathroom. You are a life saver! Thank you - and my poor, patient husband thanks you too! I feel confident now that next time I travel I will take all these tips and incorporated them skillfully.
Sandler sells samples of the cheek gel for around $5 each. Perfect for travel. Just order in advance of your trip. It also helps me to take a photo of my stuff so I know what to bring next time.
I overpack Charlotte Tillbury’s instant pallet is great !! Also when I pack I always think I will need certain things . A great way to pack is to put your items in a trays on dresser and bathroom. Put the items you are using for a week . This will help you realize what you truly use
I have the exact same Truffle case, pack it the same way, also put my brushes, mascara, etc in a cup upon arrival, decant MAC F&B into Muji squeeze bottle, take mini Hourglass Caution mascara ( holy grail, never smudges), Ghost palette, and throw in a single Tom Ford taupe shadow. Done! ( plus eyelash curler, brows and mist😬) I leave a note in there too. That’s key!
I take 4 Mac single eyeshadows and a Mac blush. They all have a magnetic bottom and I put them in the Makeup Forever refillable palette, they fit perfectly. One of the eyeshadows is Nylon, it could probably serve as a highlighter and I can use a darker eyeshadow for liner. This way I can totally customize my eye look for each trip and minimize packing.
Great mini products & tips for packing for travel. Such a great video that many can benefit from. I need to learn to keep more things in my travel bag like mini brushes so I don’t have to figure out each time which ones to pack. Great video I hope we see more like this!
I travel a lot for business and I could not believe that we carry almost exactly same things. I always have my IT powder brush (you can get it on QVC for almost free with their By Bye Pores powder), Sigma travel eye brushes, Mac liner brush, and my mini HG Veil and UD spray etc. I buy doubles and leave them packed, one for liquids and one for regular cosmetics. The only thing extra is I must have my travel magnifying mirror!! Can't see a thing without. Loved your travel cases and the sponge case. My go to travel eye palette is the Tarte Make Magic Happen, everything you need for neutral eye, and I have the HG Ghost palette for face. Great video!
I love your channel so much! You have such a nice soothing voice and have very beautiful naturally looking makeup. Would you please let me know what Daniel Sandler blush color you love the most. Also, please do this makeup look (am I asking too much - lol). Thank you!
I travel with makeup that does double duty - some of my faves are the nudestix lip/cheek, as well as cream/stick eyeshadows. I do love that clear window on your travel makeup case! I recently picked up a Lug mini-trolley and Loooove it as it holds quite a bit, and has separate pockets on the end for tucking small items in.
Except suggestions. I bought the hourglass travel size once. Since the veil is my holy grail, I just refill the travel size from my large bottle. I use Ester Lauder foundation. When you purchase from their counter, their sample size bottles are perfect for travel. I just ask for a few extra sample bottles and use to decant multiple foundations at once. MAC sample containers are also great for foundation and liquid concealers.
Your first travel toiletries bag video was how I found you and became a big fan! Love this updated one. I travel to the states frequently and they are fantastic for tips.
I recently bought a small size case from Amazon for about £15. It has movable /removable sections in the bottom and a zipped bit in the lid for eye palettes and brushes..... Worth every penny 😍😊. I think here in the UK we have to pack sharps like tweezers scissors etc in our suitcase, we can't have it as carry on. Xx. 🇬🇧 Yes please to travel friendly palette ideas.
That sounds just like the larger case I also have and have shared in my amazon faves video and another video as well (I'm blanking the specific one but it was about affordable products). It's a great bag! 🙌🏼
@@StephanieMarie Mine maybe is the larger one... Looks small probably with all of my stuff in! I use it a bit more like Shop my stash... If I get called away from home I just grab it. Xx
This was such a great video, Stephanie! Loved that you went into the details and reasons on why you choose those items to travel with! Also bonus points for not overpacking and not forgetting about TSA :) And yes, yes, yes, travel eyeshadow palettes!
@stephaniemarie Your contact lens case suggestion is absolute genius. Idk why I never thought of it and I’m an optometrist. I have so many cases I can use and depotting a few pumps of foundation is so smart because we don’t need a whole bottle while we are away. Love this video
I've finally found a good use for my big collection of contacts cases, don't know why I hadn't thought of that. Thank you for the tip! Also, I watched your other video and really liked the idea of reusing the eye drops bottle to store oil, will do that to store my cleansing oil on my next trip; it was a little hard to remove the cap but I got it.
I'm terrible at packing..I nearly always overpack so this is a great video..THANK YOU! The one thing I do well is decant products because I save small jars and bottles, haha. A great (albeit not beautiful) small loose powder option is to use a small plastic spice container with a screw on top (Ck your spice cabinet..you can probably find an expired spice you can throw out). Most have an inside cover with holes..helps to sprinkle out the right amount. Please do as many videos as possible about packing anything and everything..even purse makeup bags. I need all the help I can get. Thanks again for the great tips! xxoo
I traveled for work for years. Your video is the closest I have found to my own travel packing routine. I agree with you - you have to pare down but in a way that makes you feel like yourself while on the road. For years I used Trish McEvoy. I literally used one of her planners and had it pre-stocked with brushes and her makeup IN my suitcase. So all I had to do when preparing for a trip is add some essentials (similar to your little note)...foundation, mascara, primer, lipsticks/glosses, etc. Yes, I was using a different makeup on the road vs. when at home, but I kind of looked forward to the change and made it worked for me. It cut my packing time in half.
I travel a lot and just wouldn't ever bring this much, I still really loved this video. For me, I'm all about reduced expectations when I travel. I have used those full face palettes different brands put out for years, no one needs more. For the past two years I've used the Hourglass holiday palettes (and I don't pack eyeshadow, I use that palette). I buy the mini versions of my favorite essentials, and have retractable brushes. I have NEXUS so I don't have too deal with taking out a liquids bag, I actually stopped using one years ago and it's never been a problem. But if you don't have that, these tips are a really great reminder of what needs to be packed separately!
Hi I'm new to your channel. I was looking around to simplify my makeup for going carry-on only. Thank you this was helpful. I just got the hour glass ambient lighting unlocked the one with the dragon. I hadn't thought to use it as eyeshadow. That will definitely cut down on not having to bring a separate eyeshadow palette. I usually do checked luggage but I'm only gone for 3 days and don't want to check anything this time. Thank you again for the tips.
If you’re looking for a makeup bag similar to the Truffle Co, SpaceNK makes a smaller one for just $26 and it’s plenty big enough for my makeup - I do have a mix of full size and sampler size and include two small Real Techniques eye brushes. It’s well made and comes in a few colors 😊.
Finally someone with the same packing style as I am. I have the same truffle bag in black. I am neither an over packer nor a minimalist. I like to pack the mini versions of the exact ones I use. Please do more packing videos. I love this !
Hi Stephanie, love this video (which I watched when you first filmed it). Now that travel is starting to open back up it has me watching travel and packing videos and would love to see an updated make-up and skincare video. 😍
Genius to decant foundation into a contact case! I have a zillion of those little things and know I know what do do with them! That is a life changer. And Geaux Tigers tonight! Good Luck!
Some really great tips for packing makeup for traveling- I always end up bringing too much, can’t decide which shade, then end up bringing 2! Also, the idea of using a small container for liquid makeup, and I like putting brushes and pencils in a glass-I usually end up rattling around too much and may disturb my husband who usually gets up later! Love that bag for makeup, too...thanks Stephanie! ☺️💕💄
Vera Bradley makes a nice TSA approved makeup bag. It’s the same overall dimensions as a quart ziplock, but it’s wider and shorter, with a heavier plastic that will withstand multiple trips. Maneater is my go to travel palette as well. 🙂
Absolutely love seeing your tips and tricks! :) The make up bags are just so expensive.. :/ But I found the Allie Glines make up bags to be super comparable, so I bought those. Thank you again for your effort involved in showing us your ways! xx
Is it also transparent? Would love to find some transparent cosmetic bags. Can also recommend the Lug cosmetic trolley. Have two Lugs - one for travel & one for everyday.
Muji makes great travel containers with pumps and spray nosles and in different sizes. I pack a few days before so I can see what I am missing. And when I am back I use the things out of the travel container until they are empty, clean them and I am ready for the next trip without wasting anything. Greetings from Germany 🙂
Excellent! I am so interested in packing make up and toiletries as lightly as possible. I went to Paris this past spring, and thought I did a decent job packing, but I still over-packed. So for our upcoming summer trip I am determined to pack less. I want to shop while in France, so I don’t want to be weighed down with unnecessary items in my carry on. It is funny how you think you will need the extra things while on vacation, but in reality, you are up early and out the door most days, so you really just need the basics.
OMG perfect timing! My husband and I are heading to Cuba end of Feb and I was just about to start searching travel packing videos etc😎 I will check out your toiletries video as well! Thank you Stephanie Tammy Roy 🇨🇦 Eye shadow is STUNNING in this video💕
I travel a ton and have never been stopped for mascara, lippies or cream blush (Glossier Cloud Paint). Also, I bought the Flanabag from your other packing video and I love it! I can JAM it full and it never busts.
Watching quite a few of these types of posts lately. Not even going any where, perhaps dreaming. ;) I always grab hotel cups for my brushes. Very helpful. Thanks!
Another tip for mascara: Clinique has a small dual-ended mascara. It has mascara on one end and primer on the other. That way you can have both if you use them every day!
Yes, please do another video on your travel palettes. I struggle with making choices on trips. I like all my eye colors but they are all in different palettes. How do you decide.
Last year I saw your video where you talked about using contact lense cases and it was a game changer for me! Those hold more than we think they do! I use my label maker to label and it saves space!
I have a Z palette and place "decanted" bronzer, blush, eyeshadows and brow shadow in one. I also place thin cotton rounds inside to minimize impact. However, I only use this method when I can place in a carry on or a weekend trip in the car.
What an awesome video! I have used the contact lens case idea for decanting. And generally like that. I also use a snack size Ziploc bag for my beauty sponges. I like your container better though, because it can breathe/dry. I have to look at your other travel video. I hate the expense of buying travel sized make up, but it really is worth it, when it comes to being able to make things portable. Also when you’re on vacation you’ve probably paid a decent amount of money to get there, so it’s worth investing in the small things to feel good about yourself, IMHO.
If you have a Daiso store near you, they have fantastic travel bottles for foundation! They're little squeezie tubes with caps that screw on. They have small 5ml, 10 ml sizes, as well as bigger ones 💗
I'm one of those organizational nerds who stockpiled those old Sephora sample jars and bought tiny eyedropper bottles and pipettes to decant skincare, haircare, and makeup for that 3-1-1 sized ziploc (I'm too cheap to buy a pretty TSA bag). I hate to check a bag.
Do you have an updated travel Makeup video? Thanks Those Truffle bags are too expensive- more practical ones on Amazon! Did you list the gray one you were using?
Finally!!! I KNEW I’d get use out of this video. I haven’t traveled by plane since 2019(?) And we are traveling to Boston in October. Let the packing videos begin! 😎❤️✈️🍂🍁🧡🤎
I LOVE the clear/grey travel case. I have been looking for one like that! Something that would go beautifully with it & my new favorite is a palette from “Salt NY”” It is a vegan leather empty palette that zips around. It comes in grey or black. It has enough padding to protect your products, but not overly so. I think it would go beautifully together & now I’m going to order the case you have.
Yes..would love to see the best travel eyeshadow palettes 🇪🇬 And a question..what is the difference between a Setting Powder and a Finishing one?? Are they different in texture? Examples plz
Great tips Stephanie! I love travel videos bc these would be your most tried and true! Love those little Laura mercier powder containers for traveling! I need the mesh sponge bag! That ghost! So pretty!! Love the It ball brush when I travel! I also love the bare minerals brushes bc they’re small and so good!! Loved this Stephanie!!🤗🤗🤗

That looks almost exactly like Allie Glines make up bags
Her bags do look like the Truffle except hers look deeper.
Cydney Barry I WAS SEARCHING THE COMMENT SECTION BECAUSE THATS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT!
Right 😭
But the price on this one is crazy high, in my opinion! Hope Allie’s is back in stock soon.
I think the Allie Glines make-up bags are deeper and only one-sided. The truffle bags have two sides to access.
Great great great video! Elf makes a little bag of short travel brushes I love. Just some small ones.

Use the Lug mini trolly for makeup when traveling and also Love it! Want to add a clear separate cosmetic case also.
I refill my mini primer too! 🙌🏼❤️
Your first travel toiletries bag video was how I found you and became a big fan! Love this updated one. I travel to the states frequently and they are fantastic for tips.
Thank you Debbie! 💜
Also bonus points for not overpacking and not forgetting about TSA :)
And yes, yes, yes, travel eyeshadow palettes!
Thanks Pati!
Love how informational and thorough this video is!
Oh my gosh I think you would love TH-camr Allie Glines new makeup bags and travel system! I would love to see a review from you!
@stephaniemarie Your contact lens case suggestion is absolute genius. Idk why I never thought of it and I’m an optometrist. I have so many cases I can use and depotting a few pumps of foundation is so smart because we don’t need a whole bottle while we are away. Love this video
I'm so glad it helped you! :)
Thanks again for the great tips! xxoo
Great tip!
I used to use her planner too! Such a great concept! 🙌🏼
Great ✈️ Travel makeup bag!! The design is perfect 👌🏻 Love that you can see everything without taking everything out! 😊Thx, Stacy
Thank you! I would’ve never thought of a contact case to store liquids.
Great video Stephanie! The smashbox cali contour palette is one of my favorites for travel.
Yes please! A travel eye pallet video would be fabulous!
It went up last week! :)
Yes I would love to see your favorite travel eyeshadow palettes.
😯, love the clear bag. Mmmmmm, beautiful and clean, looks very organized!
Finally someone with the same packing style as I am. I have the same truffle bag in black. I am neither an over packer nor a minimalist. I like to pack the mini versions of the exact ones I use. Please do more packing videos. I love this !
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Great video, would love to see eye shadow favorites.
I have that same elf stipple brush I got mine from dollar tree.
I found a perfect bag for travelling make-up, Nomad Lane Bento Bag. A duffel bag that packs like a suitcase is kinda perfect for this.
The contact lense case tip is genious!!🙌
Hi Stephanie, love this video (which I watched when you first filmed it). Now that travel is starting to open back up it has me watching travel and packing videos and would love to see an updated make-up and skincare video. 😍
Genius to decant foundation into a contact case! I have a zillion of those little things and know I know what do do with them! That is a life changer. And Geaux Tigers tonight! Good Luck!
Travel eye shadow palettes... Yes please! Thanks for these tips!
Great video and just in time. Going on vacation in 1 week! Thanks!
Awesome!
Excellent video! Always love to see inside travel make up bags. I love to travel with my Tom Ford eye shadow palettes and Bare Minerals.
Using contact containers for travel is genius!! Thanks so much for the great travel tips.
very helpful vid!! heading to Germany for New Years. your makeup looks beautiful
I love IT cosmetics confidence in a gel cream. Definitely worth a try!
I use that gel lotion..the one in the tall pump bottle. It’s awesome!
I wish Hourglass brings back that ghost palette. My absolute fav for travel!
Great tips Stephanie. For sure, will try some next time I fly. Thanks.
YES! Please do a video on TRAVEL PALETTES!!!
@@nikkiallen1500 Thank you so much for the recommendation! Yes, the Allie Glines makeup bags are transparent at the top, so you can see inside. xx
Yes I would love travel eye palettes or if you know of any eye and face palettes. I am flying for the 1st time! I need all the tips I can get.
My husband and I are heading to Cuba end of Feb and I was just about to start searching travel packing videos etc😎
I will check out your toiletries video as well! Thank you Stephanie

Eye shadow is STUNNING in this video💕
Thank you so much! 💗
I travel a ton and have never been stopped for mascara, lippies or cream blush (Glossier Cloud Paint). Also, I bought the Flanabag from your other packing video and I love it! I can JAM it full and it never busts.
That Flanabag is one of my best finds EVER! I'm so glad you like it too! :)
I'm always traveling these days so great tips. Thankyou. I just ordered the Daniel Sandler blush. Looking forward to that.
Watching quite a few of these types of posts lately. Not even going any where, perhaps dreaming. ;) I always grab hotel cups for my brushes. Very helpful. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😘
Great video!!!! Thank you! I always overpack makeup. Would love to see more (shadow pallets) thanks again!
Love your tips. Please do a video on your favorite travel palettes.
Filmed it today! 😘
Ps - would love travel eye shadow palettes video 🥰👍

Would you please identify more affordable makeup bags for those of us who don’t travel as frequently you, and are on a fixed income (prefer Amazon)?
raindot Try the SpaceNK one, it’s only $26 and a bit smaller but very well-made.
@MK H -immediately went to Amazon and couldn’t find it. 😢
raindot www.spacenk.com/us/en_US/accessories/bag/bag/space-nk-travel-bag-MUK200021539.html?dwvar_MUK200021539_color=UK200021539
@MK H 🤪 Duh! Thanks. Ordered one.
I love your travel tips!! Ive shared it with friends and we all use various tips we got from your videos.
Thank you! 😘
Thanks
Those Truffle bags are too expensive- more practical ones on Amazon! Did you list the gray one you were using?
Yep I did one Sunday :)
Thank you for this video! I ordered the Truffle case jumbo! I’m a flight attendant!
Thank you for all the great tips! I watched the other video you mentioned as well.
Yes please! A video about travel palettes.
Coming Sunday morning! :)
Stephanie Marie Thank you!!!
I still haven't tried that Salt NY case! They look lovely though! :)
I would love a video on the travel eye palettes. Thank you!
Love all of your travel videos! Something I struggle mightily with and I try to find as many hacks and hints as I can. Hi Luke!
Great video! Your choices of makeup is spot on! 😀
Your skin!!! Oh my 🥺😵 beautiful beautiful
Thank you! 😘
Thanks, Stephanie! All these tips are very helpful!🤗
Yes..would love to see the best travel eyeshadow palettes 🇪🇬
And a question..what is the difference between a Setting Powder and a Finishing one?? Are they different in texture? Examples plz
Great tips Stephanie! I love travel videos bc these would be your most tried and true! Love those little Laura mercier powder containers for traveling! I need the mesh sponge bag! That ghost! So pretty!! Love the It ball brush when I travel! I also love the bare minerals brushes bc they’re small and so good!! Loved this Stephanie!!🤗🤗🤗
Oh yes please do a vlog on travel makeup....I always overpack. Need help and suggestions
I have had had glosses many many times in my purse without them stopping me.
