Your really good at teaching, I can already tell I can learn a lot from you. So I'm subscribing. The little comments you make here and there to explain why we do certain things, like the embroidery scissors and why you're leaving gaps between, etc. - i need those tips because I don't have anyone here in front of me to tell me that stuff, I'm just learning on my own so thanks!
Thank you so much! I've been looking at different videos of this stitch and I ended up more confused than I started as with just the kit instructions, but this video finally made me understand how it works!
I just started embroidery and your vids are extremely helpful. Not much of talking and straightforward. I didn't know how to do the back anchor thing and using just one strand. Now, I'm gonna try em heh
Please can we have a video with you embroidery the larger space of the flower. Thank you for sharing. I like the way you explained it and covered the space you worked on.
You do a great job of teaching. I am just returning to embroidery and want to subscribe. Fantastic. I'm doing my first embroidery project. I'm going to go see if yoiu also have some tutorials on transposing the design onto cloth. I plan on decorating jeans jackets eventually. I wonder if you use all 6 strings in the embroidery thread, or do you divide them in half?
Me, being a brand new cross stitcher, found that I didn't like seeing the fabric peeking thru so I over filled my stitches, adding extra stitches to each stitch. Little did I know , I could have been doing this. Thank you
Very good tutorial, thank you. I just have one question: why do you go back to the beginning of the long and short stitches instead of just going left to right? Is there a particular reason or is it just your preference? I have always gone left to right on the second row and now I’m wondering if I was doing something wrong.
Hi Carole, yes, the thing to keep in mind when stitching and filling in an area with long and short stitching is that as long as the stitching is staggered, the next round that is put in will effortlessly blend. Keep up the staggering in all remaining rows and before you know it the area will be filled.
Hi Wanda, I like to make a casein for the hoop to protect previously stitched areas from getting crimped by the hoop. I like to use a light fleece, terry cloth... anything that has some stretch and is not too thick.
This is *the best* tutorial for long and short stitches and how to make it not look weird that I've found. Thank you!

Excellent demonstration but mine still looks messy.
Hello. Are you using traditional threads like DMC or are you using a thicker thread like perle cotton? Thanks
Amanda Bryant Hi there, I am using DMC perle cotton size 3 in this video; with a chenille needle size 18. Thanks for watching!!
why is your hoop wrapped? and with what?
Hi Wanda, I like to make a casein for the hoop to protect previously stitched areas from getting crimped by the hoop. I like to use a light fleece, terry cloth... anything that has some stretch and is not too thick.
