Not discussed is the data that demonstrates the closer an EV battery is kept at 50% SOC the less potential battery degradation over time. It means that if daily usage is quite low charging daily to 60% is better than charging to 80%. Depending on the "use case" your daily range might be satisfied with something narrower than the 20% to 80% practice. Perhaps 30% to 70% or 40% to 60%. The data supports the idea that the closer to 50% the greater longevity of the battery. Of course this is highly dependent on "use case" and only practical if you can charge from home. The other tip I understand is to replace every night what you used that day. As mentioned several short recharges are better than one longer deep charge. The other tip that Tesla once touted, was whenever possible keep the car plugged-in. Elon stated, "a plugged-in Tesla us a happy Tesla".

Well said. Implementing a heathy routine should be practical and easy for most. Targeting a 50% charge after going to work and getting back home should do the trick, and leaves plenty of juice for common after work errands

Thanks for watching! I think it clicked for John about how much I actually know when he saw my panels in June and July. When a spot came up in the podcast, he invited me, but I'm still not sure he was quite prepared for just how much I'd bring to it.

@@FutureAZA You are an excellent panel member, entertainer and host ! You have amazing wit and humor as well... 😊 You also tie things together really well when you explain "the value of something" we might have missed .. . Especially when you explain the big-picture context of something for us... I am stepped in TESLA knowledge but I often learn from you too 💪 🙏

Amy! She's still around, just not on shows as much. She went to the 10/10 event. I imagine her schedule isn't quite as flexible as a lot of us.

    Level-2, 120 volts AC?
Don’t you have 400 Volts AC three phase?

In regard to your earlier video. If someone describes an object as a "boss," they are typically referring to a protruding or raised feature, usually cylindrical or rounded, This has to be said. Making fun of something while illustrating ignorance is not a good look. Lets not stoop to their level. Would have sent this in private but have no idea how. My ignorance.

It’s all in good fun. I felt it was clear it was a term we hadn't seen, not that it was used in error.

I am gonna charge and drive my Teslas, just like I did our Leafs. Paying attention to every detail is NOT necessary. We had two 2013 Leafs. Only one had a fast charge CHADEMO port and was often charged using that port. Anyone want to guess which Leaf needed its battery replaced under warranty? The non Fast Charger capable Leaf. I don’t agree with Musk on anything EXCEPT “just drive the car”.
