  • I found this rock metal detecting near an old silver mine. I wanted to see what would happen if I dissolve the calcite with muriatic acid.

    The only thing better than cutting rocks is disolving them. I'm always amazed at what is left after the acid wash. Thanks for sharing. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒

    I love your videos. At this time I'm buying my silver. For now I'd like the price tp go down so I can buy more for each dollar spent. You and others as miners want the price to rise because you are the source of the material. One day I'll be the miner and the source.

      I'd actually prefer silver price to stay low so I still have access to collect. ;-)

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to be really careful. Add acid to water, not other way around because of splash. It will burn skin and eyes. Do it outside, so not to breath and the fumes will rust iron in your house. I try for about 4 water to 1 pool grade muriatic. Can always add more acid later if needed. Container needs to be large enough to hold the bubbling liquid. Not all minerals are affected by the acid so look up in a mineral solubility table to know what will etch and what won't be affected. I keep an eye on the progress, but am usually done in about an hour. The fluid remaining will still burn, so safety is key. Good luck with your project.
