No matter how many times Queen Mary wears that Ruby Tiara, it's always a show stopper-absolutely magnificent. Her entire ensemble is stunning. And, same for the Connaught Tiara on CP Victoria. The style and design on her is so pretty. I also absolutely love Queen Silvia's elegance. She continues to bring the bling, always.
Queen Mary is one of the better dressed royals, in the same league as Catherine Princess of Wales. The ruby tiara is spectacular, I can't stop looking at it. It also complements her equally gorgeous dress really well.
@@irenemarieatangana chacun a droit à sa propre opinion. Ce n’est pas parce que vous n’aimez pas le style de Catherine que nous devons tous suivre votre exemple
@evelineyy Yes the Princess of Wales is one of the best dressed royals but I would not say she dresses better than queen Mary. Some have said the Princess of Wales has gotten some of her inspiration from Mary. Remember Mary has been a royal since 2004 where Catherine became a royal in 2011.
As a Dane, I can't help but smile when 'my' Royals show off their bling 😉 Queen Mary wore the correct tiara when visiting Sweden...next is Norway, pretty sure the Pearls will be there 😉 Such a treat to see the Royals be so familiar. Being family, shines through the whole visit 💙💛❤️🤍 hello from Denmark 🌸
She was gifted her own tiara for a reason. If the intention had been for her to wear the family tiaras, she wouldn't have been gifted one. She always wears her own tiara because she doesn't have access to any other tiaras. Just because the family has a good size tiara collection, it doesn't mean that all the women in the family have access to them. Sofia clearly doesn't.
@@kimberlytyrcha5930 i think its both that and that her status as married into the family and she is not a senior royal (she has been using some of the other tiaras but only on or two)
Dear Brittany. As a Danish royalist, I always look very much forward to your videos. You are great at promoting my beloved royal family, as well as the rest of the royal houses. Thank you, and keep up the good work! Once again, a great job. It actually wasn’t a surprise to me, that Queen Mary chose to wear the rubies. When you consider the connection they have to Sweden. It’s not just about Queen Ingrid, but remember that they were made originally for a later Queen of Sweden. I think we can very much predict what tiara she will be wearing next week in Norway, and she has been very clever in these choices. And no, it will not be the rubies. She has three more tiaras at her disposal now: The emeralds, the Pearl Poiré and the Floral Aigrette. The latter was my personal favorite of Queen Margrethe’s to wear, and I’m sure that Queen Mary will be just as creative in finding ways to use it. But for Norway, I am pretty sure she will go for the Pearl Poiré to wear. The rubies’ history are deeply rooted in Sweden and that was why she chose them for this State visit. But the Pearl Poiré is most of all associated with Queen Lovisa. It was only a year in Sweden, before it went to Lovisa. And we have many pictures of her wearing it. And as Lovisa’s son became King of Norway, wearing the Pearl Poiré in connection with a State visit to Norway, makes more sense in honoring the two families’ joint connection. But ultimately, it doesn’t matter what she wears. She is always gorgeous in her galla attire and jewels.
Hi, Swedish person here. I thought that you'd enjoy a couple of curios about the Swedish royals. Crown Princess Victoria is generally thought off a being one of the more fashion forward royal in Europe. At least if you believe what the weekly magazines tells us. She also tend to wear Swedish designers pretty much exclusively, except on royal visits to other country where she will try to wear something by a design from that country. I have to agree though that that welcoming dress could have been hemmed a little bit shorter. Or perhaps longer? One of her favorite designers is Malinas, which is a Swedish brand as far as I can tell. She also re-uses clothes which is in lie with her taking a great interest in nature and sustainability. The designer in this video introduced as the designer of her evening gown, is called Christer Lindarw, with a little bit more of an upp note on the Lind and on the arw part too, and the W sounds like a V. Swedish is a iambic language. So for a crash course, check out that old Greek/poetic building block, the iamb, and you'll soon start to sound like a native. (I think it might work in Norwegian too, but I'm not sure.) Another piece of curio ia about the way Princess Sofia, the tiara she is wearing is the one she personally owns. She received it as a personal gift by the King and Queen, leading up to her wedding. There are a lot of rules and regulations on who can wear the jewelry in the Royal Collection, but I can't by a cursory look find out what she can wear. I only find the ones that she can't. As she isn't born into the Royal Family she might not have access to a lot of them, but the one that she knows that she can wear is her own private one. There are some tiaras I'm sure that is owned by the family outright that, she might be allowed to wear, but it seems like she will stick to her own. So you might have to be bored in the future too, I'm afraid. You probably know more about the different ones than I do, but reading Swedish rules and regulations are a field where I was once trained for. Another thing that I know you comment on is how she wore her tiara on her wedding day, in contrast to how she's been wearing it since. A very old Swedish tradition (as in going back at least to the 16th century, is that a bride will wear a crown on her wedding day. Since the 19th century they are a small crown worn on top of the head, and was a sign of purity Many churches had silver crowns to lend to their brides as late as around the time my DH and I got married in the early 90's. They might still have them, but I don't know if that's still true since I'm not in that particular time of life, and we never had children of our own, that might have been these days. Anyway, The way her tiara looks on her wedding day, looks like she wore it as a wedding crown. Okay, that's about it when it comes to storytelling today. Maybe more in the future. Yours, Ann
@@nonbinary6834 Hi, I can see what you are saying. On the other hand not going for a necklace here is kind of a bold statement, leaving herself quite open. I don't know if there is a necklace, in the Royal Collection that is dainty enough to balance this tiara. I don't know a lot about the jewelry that that are in either the Royal Collection or privately owned that are available to her, at all. Nor am I into fashion, other as an end user of clothing. I'm not even really following the news on the Royal House. There are just things that you can't escape knowing about, as we aren't that many people in the country. The Ryals do good work for us, and that is what most of us care about. They do good work without much fuss and are well liked. Yours, Ann
That look might be one of the most beautiful Queen Mary has ever worn. That tiara is my favorite among royals and it suits very well with the amazing embroidery of the dress. I'm not a fan of Queen Silvia's dress color for the tiara she's wearing. Green and blue didn't agree. Mary stood out. I would love to see a good quality video of her pre-wedding gala dinner and theater, the one when she wore a complete red dress and that ruby set for the first time. She looked stunning.
I really wish you would stop making assumptions, there's no evidence that there's tension between Queen Mary and Queen Margrethe. Queen Margrethe hasn't fully retired and is therefore still using her private (private being the keyword) collection. I'm sure that on her passing the jewels will go to whoever she wants them to go to or maybe the some will go to the collection of crown jewels, time will well. The ruby set being Queen Mary's most important private set and with a Swedish connection on top of that it makes sense that she would bring that. There are also the "Løsørefideikommis" which are jewellery that are part of a fund that cannot be sold and must be passed on down the heritage line. According to the royal family website the jewelley is worn by the reigning queen, so maybe we'll get to see some of those pieces on Queen Mary. The Perlepoire set is part of that collection and it's absolutely stunning.
Your comment is really well written and you certainly did your research. Brittany seems to look for conflict among the royal ladies when all evidence points in the opposite direction. Queen Margrethe and Queen Mary has never said or behaved in a way that indicate anything other than the upmost love and respect between them. The same goes for the way she is looking for a rift between princess Sofia and her sisters in law. If there was a conflict between the “young “ royals and their spouses, why are they going on holidays together and spending time together outside of their royal duties? I must admit that I think Brittany does her self and her channel a great disservice by planting unsubstantiated claims like that in her videos. It really cheapens the channel.
I don’t let things like that bother me. Sure, we don’t know what their relationship is like. I think Brittany said there’s probably some tension. Gee, I wish I could write italics in these comments!
You are doing a great job getting your point across. Impressive with English not being your (or my) first language. Not trying to be disrespectful to Brittany, but I must say that with aspirations of being a serious royal reporter, starting rumors where there is no evidence to support them is better left to the tabloids if you want to come across as professional.
I would add that she displays clear biases. She is frequently very negative about Sophia of Sweden. Always plumping for Victoria. It’s not about entertaining US and keeping us from being bored that they wear their tiaras. Brittany repeats her points and reuses her descriptive adjectives too often. I think her analysis could go deeper. Her delivery and speech cadence are a bit odd. Not sure what style of delivery it is. I appreciate her topics and some of her commentary. As an American, I’m glad she chooses to explore the European royals in more breadth than others.
Exactly. The royal ladies dresses in full gala and precious jewelry on occasions like this to represent their nation and the office they represent, rather than to amuse us. That we as onlookers find the jewelry and their history fascinating is only byproduct. I think it’s easy to overlook that state dinners are not lovely parties where you have a chance to dress up and have a good time. They are part of a really long workday that includes meetings with members of government, industry, education and culture for several hours. Always with constant media presence and expected to be well informed, attentive and elegant. Then a short break to change into full evening dress followed by more presentations and a formal dinner.......the following day of a state visit starts early and is just as packed with activities as the former. I think it’s easy to romanticize when you see the royal ladies in their beautiful gowns and glittering jewelry and think that they had a day of pampering leading up to that moment. But in fact even the 80 year old queen Silvia had an eight hour work day before dressing up for the event.
What a great video, LOVE, LOVE the tiaras and jewels on the Royal ladies. Queen Mary's parure is breathtaking and that flowing gold skirt - REGAL all the way. My other favourite dress was Crown Princess Victoria's icy blue number, such a simple cut, but the embellishments! Thank you for closing your video off with that iconic quote from Queen Margrethe about counting the centuries not the carats. This shade of red really suits you Brittany. Best Wishes and cheers from Canada!
Another great, well put together video. I love watching your commentary on all the European Royals. You draw us into such a magical world. It's nice to slip into a non-political fantasy world for a little while. This was an especially lovely state visit, and, as always, I enjoy your honest little quips and comments. I loved all of the jewellery, I can never pick a favourite because they are all so gorgeous and all have such interesting history. Imagine wearing jewellery that is over 200 years old!! Enjoy your day xxx
Could be that Princess Sophia is trying to make a statement in that she, not having grown up as a royal, is grateful and true to herself to wear her own tiara.
The family gave her the tiara as a wedding present. She owns it. Being the wife of the king's only son l'd think she & her husband will be allotted plenty...
She has been seen wearing 5 different tiaras, one with 7 different toppers. So 12 different looks. Can you name another royal by marriage to someone as “low” as 4th in line to the throne that has been wearing that many tiaras? Looking around the other royal family’s in Europe the rule seems to be that you are given one tiara and that’s the one you’re “stuck” with. The only exception i can find of a spouse of a younger brother to the throne heir wearing a second tiara is princess Marie of Denmark. She worked out a long time loan of the Nuit Claires tiara with the jewelry house Maison Mauboussin and now alternate that piece with the Princess Dagmar’s floral tiara that she was given upon her marriage.
Princess Sofia was gifted her own tiara for a reason. If the intention had been for her to wear the family tiaras, she wouldn't have been gifted one. Just because the family has a good sized tiara collection, doesn't mean that every woman in the family has access to them. She wore 2 family tiaras early in her marriage when her own tiara was being renovated. Since 2017, she's only worn her own tiara because it's the ONLY tiara she has access to.
She now has three more tiaras at her disposal as the Queen. All previously worn by Queen Margrethe and other previous Queens. Not new tiaras. Old tiaras. And she will be wearing those.
So wish I spoke and understood Danish. This is a royal family. I would love to follow every day. Forget the British Royal Family. These are the professionals.
The royal women turned out magnificently for that gala dinner. Queen Mary’s champagne skirt was originally part of a full gown and she has since worn it in a couple of variations. She is very clever in how she modifies and gets extra mileage from her gowns and the gorgeous burgundy beaded top is a perfect example. Princess Christina also attended the dinner, wearing the Four Button tiara like a BOSS! 😊. She really makes that tricky tiara look good.
@@pollycipher In the past we only heard about yellow or amber colored topazes. But in the past couple of decades, the Mystic Topaz, the Blue Topaz, the London Blue, the White and the Citrine have been available.
Princess Sofia was gifted her own tiara for a reason. She clearly doesn't have access to the family tiaras. Yes, she wore 2 of the family tiaras in the past, but that was when her tiara was being renovated. She hasn't worn any tiara but her own since 2017 because she doesn't have access to any other tiara. I don't know what people don't understand about that. Just because the family has a good collection of tiaras doesn't mean that every royal woman in the family has access to them.
Two? Im sure you mean four! Apart from her own tiara she has been wearing: The Karl-Johan tiara. The Napolionic amethyst tiara. The four button tiara. The cut steel baneau.
Queen Mary looks just lovely. It’s fun to see all the tiaras. Looking forward to seeing more tiaras and fashions from the next couple of visits. Thank you, Brittany. I like both of your channels and while both are very informative, this one is relaxing and fun.
I, unfortunately, unfollowed the other channel because I find the British Royal family, their drama, and Harry and Meghan rather stale. But I love that this channel highlights the other lovely royal ladies and their tiaras and clothes.
Great report! Little correction: Dowager Queen Josefine of Sweden gifted this set to her grandaughtwr Princess Louise upon her marriage to the King of Denmark, saying “ the Danish colours must go to Denmark” in the mid 1800s
@@krisoverby2914 I know. I think I have seen the same documentary. But the historian I spoke to, have researched the matter for years, and apparently it wouldn’t have been possible for Queen Josephine to gift Lovisa the set upon their wedding, according to Swedish laws. Lovisa instead inherited the set and many other jewels, including the Pearl Poiré tiara from Queen Josephine.
Thanks Brittany this was a very interesting video. Until you started doing this series I didn't realize that they were still so many kings and queens in English countries.
There is in fact 10 monarchies remaining in Europe, not counting the Vatican. Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Norway, Spain, Sweden and The UK
Green and blue works together very well, specially the emerald green with a sapphire blue 👍 Were is your tiara ? You should dress up for this programme. You can not imagine what beautiful things you find in the charity shops and 2nd shops. Get glamorous 😁 Maybe they don’t give her much choice of tiaras.
I love your channel however you are too harsh on Princess Sophia! She may have a sentimental attachment to her wedding tiara and is comfortable wearing it.
Eh, that's not how it works. The Swedes have a gorgeous collection, so I'd love to see her dip her toes into that more, if she can and she has in the past. It's just interesting. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for another great video! I’m very pleased you picked my favorite of all tiaras to discuss - The Ruby Parture Tiara. I plan to include the Bernadotte sisters in the moon Km writing and I would like to mention your channels in the text as well as the bibliography if I’m able to! I try to make sure you know when it happens.
The European royals put the British Royal's bling game to shame. They make up family gatherings to flex their bling. I love it! Thank you for sharing these gatherings!
The Brits might have the largest collection (some 30 peices) but both Sweden and the Netherlands both have in the 20s when it comes to tiaras. To not even talk about Luxembourg who has a whole slay of Tiaras they can pick and choose from. But while the Danish Collection might not be the largest (12 in total, not counting the ones Mary and Marie borrows from companies) we do have some of the grandest and most interesting ones. Including my all time favorite, the ruby set
@@Phyllida-r7n Are you objecting to the word bling or do you just not like it when people wear beautiful jewelry often? Queen Mary looked stunning in her Jasper Hovering dress. The satin skirt is so beautiful, The pattern on the bodice is beautiful too. The tiara is my favorite part of this outfit, it's so beautiful. The first time I saw the tiara was at the new years day banquet.
I think Jean Baptiste Bernadotte wanted to show off Desiree in the Napoleon coronation, Désirée Clary beeing Napoleons former fiance, now Madame la Marconess de Bernadotte (at the time)
Must admit that I had my fingers crossed for Queen Mary to debut the pearl poire tiara for this first state visit. But as always Queen Mary looked absolutely fantastic.
Yes, you are probably right. The historical connection of the ruby parure to the swedish royal family is after all stronger than the relatively short time the pearl poire tiara resided in the swedish royal vaults. So the ruby’s was definitely the right choice. But it’s exciting to see the new queen debut the gorgeous pieces that we all know so well.
@@jonasviking9768 also, the Pearl Poiré has a connection to the Norwegian royals. It was Queen Lovisa who brought it to Denmark, and she has often been photographed with it. And King Harald’s grandfather was the son of Queen Lovisa. So while the connections are small there, compared to that of the rubies and Sweden, the symbolism is not hard to miss.
Yes,you are absolutely right! In my hope of seeing Queen Mary in the Pearl Poiré I completely overlooked that Norwegian connection. The journeys some of the royal jewelry has made between different royal vaults in Europe truly is fascinating.
I got the same Tiara as royal ladies, which is in the bank 🏦 now because Tiara is very expensive, taria, to wear every day because i was given my husband family because they know that i would wear the taria 🎉❤

I appreciate your admiration of all things royal, and it can be difficult to hear the consistent mispronunciation from one so learned and well travelled. The so called pronunciation police are here to HELP you. Would you like it if your name and beloved things were mispronounced? I would love to subscribe to your channel and cannot wait until you at least try to show respect by taking the time to learn the correct way to say ‘par-roor’!
Personally I, and several members of my family, have trouble pronouncing our “r’s.” We used to try to say the name “Rory” as a joke, to see who mispronounced it the worst. And one can practice and practice saying a particular word only have the mispronunciation pop out in mid speech! It’s nice of you to want to help Brittany. I was raised by a couple of older generations of women - real “ladies”, and have always thought these corrections as impolite. Now that you have explained why you do so, I can appreciate the intent!
I think you are too harsh on Princess Sophia. I think she wants to wear HER own tiara..I think it’s ingenious she has found a way to do it her way on a budget. I take it you have never married into a family with sister in laws, let alone a royal one. No matter what we see, I bet it’s not all nicey nicey when you have to ask, each and every time to borrow tiaras and jewels from your mother in law, when you are down the pecking order. Truth be told, I’m kinda bored with you picking on her. I’m looking forward to Ruby, peridot etc new toppers. Other royal bloggers feel the same as I do.
I think the colours in Princess Mary's tiara match her outfit in the first clip but I don't like the shape she made it into. I've never liked the amethyst tiara. Princess Sophia's dress is pretty!!
She has worn others from the Swedish collection, so there are several still in play. It's also broadly thought that King Carl Gustaf prefers his son to be his heir in particular, instead of his daughter, so it's surprising she doesn't seem to want to utilize more of the collection. Thanks for watching!!
Brittany, honestly! THAT misquote has been debunked SEVERAL times over the years. His Majesty has on numerous occasions said that among his children Victoria is the one most suited for the throne. Are you deliberately trying to avoid facts?
She doesn't have access to the family tiaras. She was gifted her own tiara for a reason. She wore 2 family tiaras early in her marriage when her own tiara was being renovated. She's only worn her own tiara since 2017 because she doesn't have access to any other tiaras.
I love the way Queen Mary had the Danish ruby tiara reset, I think this is the best way to wear this tiara. I can't wait to see the way Queen Mary will have the floral aigret tiara reset because just like the ruby tiara, the floral aigret tiara can be a showstopper if arranged the right way. I just wish Queen Mary would update her wardrobe, too many of these lace gowns and these lace-tops tend to overpower the beautiful necklaces the Queen wears. I am sure there are some great Danish designers who can make some amazingly beautiful gowns for Queen Mary.
The Floral Aigrette doesn’t need resetting. It’s divided into more than one piece and can be arranged in many many different ways. That’s what Queen Margrethe always did.
@@christinaj.jensen4805 The Pearl Poire tiara, the Khedive tiara, The Baden Palmette tiara, The Ole Lynggaard tiara, The Princess Dagmar tiar, The Naasut tiara, The Alexandrine Diamond Drop tiara are tiaras made as tiaras in comparison to all the other head pieces/head ornaments such as the ruby tiara, the floral aigrette tiara, the golden puppies tiara and even the emerald tiara are head pieces/head ornaments that has to be framed, set, or arranged as a TIARA so there the floral aigrette pieces are just beautiful jewelry pieces that can be arranged or can be set to form a TIARA.....The latter ones I mentioned are not tiaras rather are head pieces, head ornaments or jewelry pieces. As you probably witnessed these pieces I mentioned above have been used on many occasions as broches and necklaces while one cannot do such with a real tiara.
@@gilgabe think the last time the rubies were seen in a different form than the one Queen Ingrid had, was Queen Alexandrine, who had them in a headband type style on the forhead, like it was typical in the 1920s to have. But that was because her mother-in-law only gifted her parts of the set upon Alexandrine’s wedding to King Christian the X. Think it was Queen Ingrid who placed them in the style we know today, that Queen Mary has altered to fit her. But they are not taken apart to wear in a diffent way. There are separate pieces that are never part of the tiara. A ring, brooch, earrings and the necklace. And then she had hairpins made from the extra leaves that turned out from when she had the tiara altered. I don’t understand how you think the Emeralds are the same kind of headpiece as the Floral Aigrette. In their 184 year history, the tiara has remained in the same form as it has now, they can’t be separated into several pieces and as they are not the personal property of the royal family, they can’t be altered. At least not as a decision made by the King or Queen. I have however seen the Floral Aigrette set up as an actual tiara. That was how Queen Ingrid wore it. Among others at Queen Margrethe’s wedding. It’s my personal favorite of those Queen Margrthe wore, and am excited to see Queen Mary wear it.

Crown Princess Mette-Merit, wife of the future king, only wears her wedding tiara. Just because a royal family has a good sized tiara collection, it doesn't mean that all the women in that family have access to them. In most cases, if a royal woman is gifted her own tiara (or loaned one on long-term loan) that's the ONLY tiara that she has access to.
What is it with you and Princess Sophia? Let her be her. I don't think she has a duty to entertain you. If you're bored with it, move on and talk about other things.
I can somewhat understand where Brittany is coming from, after all we have seen Princess Sofia in a number of other tiaras over the years. However on this particular occasion her choice was without a doubt the best one. This was after all the first state visit of the new monarchs of Denmark, the focus should be on them. Trying to steal attention by wearing a new tiara, or one we have not seen her wearing for a long time for this occasion would be about as elegant as wearing a white dress to a wedding if you are not the bride.

Okay. While I did read a comment explaining why a particular follower corrects Brittany, and realize her intent is kind - she was referring to a foreign word. But Brittany is American through and through. Plus, she’s in graduate school - possibly at the doctorate level. Do y’all REALLY think Brittany doesn’t know the proper pronunciation of common words? I have a graduate degree in English, and still find certain words hard to pronounce. When you say, “Brittany, I REALLY wish you would learn how to pronounce …”, it comes across as supercilious. If that’s not your intent, I apologize. But I do think you might want to consider that she does know how to pronounce these words. One can practice and practice pronouncing a word correctly, yet in the middle of a sentence have it slip out the wrong way.
I am American. Learning how to pronounce people's names correctly is respectful. If she has been corrected multiple times, then, it is simply disrespect.

The style and design on her is so pretty. I also absolutely love Queen Silvia's elegance. She continues to bring the bling, always.
Princess Sophia looks beautiful...both dress and tiara!!
Queen Mary is one of the better dressed royals, in the same league as Catherine Princess of Wales. The ruby tiara is spectacular, I can't stop looking at it. It also complements her equally gorgeous dress really well.
@@irenemarieatangana That's your opinion and you are in the minority. Catherine is one of the best dressed royals whether you like it or not🤣
@evelineyy Yes the Princess of Wales is one of the best dressed royals but I would not say she dresses better than queen Mary. Some have said the Princess of Wales has gotten some of her inspiration from Mary. Remember Mary has been a royal since 2004 where Catherine became a royal in 2011.
PoW dresses too old for her age. She actually dresses for QM's age.
As a Dane, I can't help but smile when 'my' Royals show off their bling 😉
Queen Mary wore the correct tiara when visiting Sweden...next is Norway, pretty sure the Pearls will be there 😉
Such a treat to see the Royals be so familiar. Being family, shines through the whole visit 💙💛❤️🤍
hello from Denmark 🌸
Princess Sophia's wedding tiara is probably hugely sentimental to her.
I think so, too.
Agree
That ruby tiara is the most striking tiara ever, and looks magnificent on her dark hair. I swoon......
And her dress!!!! 😍😍😍
(I think it might work in Norwegian too, but I'm not sure.)
Another piece of curio ia about the way Princess Sofia, the tiara she is wearing is the one she personally owns.
Yours, Ann
With the neckline of her dress, it would like stunning with a necklace - it would stand out.
Yours, Ann
Queen Mary wore that for the first time right before her wedding! Stunning!
Actually, it was two days before her wedding she wore it first, and the second time the day before.
Yes, I was hoping we’d get one piece of video, but it didn’t come in time. Thanks for watching!!
To be fair, I think Sophia is not offered the other tiaras… I was listening to a Swedish jewelry Podcast and this is what they indicated
Queen Mary looks so pretty. Love the dress and the ruby tiara.
It’s gorgeous!!
That is a beautiful tiara! Thanks for showing us these beauties!
Could be that Princess Sophia is trying to make a statement in that she, not having grown up as a royal, is grateful and true to herself to wear her own tiara.
or maybe that's the tiara that is alloted for her
The family gave her the tiara as a wedding present.
The two queens are perfect with their tiara. Queen Mary chose well and no need for a new tiara.

Everyone brought their A Game when it comes to tiaras and dresses! Also the ruby tiara is my favorite in the Danish collection, very unusual.

Queen Mary looks incredible, like a fairy tale princess!
Great report! Little correction: Dowager Queen Josefine of Sweden gifted this set to her grandaughtwr Princess Louise upon her marriage to the King of Denmark, saying “ the Danish colours must go to Denmark” in the mid 1800s
Was actually told by a historian recently, that the rubies weren’t bequethed to Lovisa, until after Queen Josephie’s death.
@christinaj.jensen4805 this I found on an old documentary where Queen Margarethe told this story
@@krisoverby2914 I know. I think I have seen the same documentary. But the historian I spoke to, have researched the matter for years, and apparently it wouldn’t have been possible for Queen Josephine to gift Lovisa the set upon their wedding, according to Swedish laws.
Pour les britanniques n'est pas aussi beau à voir que les autres monarchies.

Not interested.

Queen Mary looked stunning in her Jasper Hovering dress. The satin skirt is so beautiful, The pattern on the bodice is beautiful too. The tiara is my favorite part of this outfit, it's so beautiful. The first time I saw the tiara was at the new years day banquet.
Jesper Høvring is an amazing designer. He understands very well how to make dresses that fits the wearer. No wonder that Queen Mary uses him so much.

I don’t think there can be any doubt about that.

The pink outfit on Victoria is very matronly.
Must admit that I had my fingers crossed for Queen Mary to debut the pearl poire tiara for this first state visit. But as always Queen Mary looked absolutely fantastic.
She very likely will make that debut in Norway next week :)
The tiara link with history is fascinating

What about Princess Christina?
I usually don’t mention her as we just can’t see her very well, but it appears that she’s wearing the Four-Button Tiara. Thanks for watching!!
Maybe princess Sophia has been cut off from the royal jewels?
She was gifted her own tiara for a reason. If the intention had been for her to wear the family tiaras, she wouldn't have been gifted one. She clearly doesn't have access to the family tiaras, that's why she always wears her own. Look at the other monarchies. Princess Martha Louise of Norway always wears her own tiara, despite the fact that Norway has a decent size tiara collection.
Time to learn how to pronounce Margarethe. Think of it having an a on the end. Your incorrect pronunciation is grating.
agreed
Queen Mary is so beautiful!
Maybe Princess Sophia loves her tiara? Maybe it’s comfortable? Maybe the others give her headaches? It’s beautiful, get over it, just saying.
And after all her tiara was wedding gift of the Queen and King.....
@@jonasviking9768 ....Princess Sofia was gifted her own tiara for a reason. She has actually only worn 2 of the family tiaras early in her marriage (when her own tiara was been renovated). She hasn't worn any tiara other than her own since 2017. She clearly doesn't have access to the family tiaras. Look at the other royal families. Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway always wears her wedding tiara, despite the fact that Norway has a decent tiara collection. Princess Martha Louise of Norway always wears her own tiara too. When a royal woman is gifted her own tiara (or has one on long-term loan) that's the ONLY tiara she has access to. That's how it works.
Sorry, but this will be a bit of a rant. Both supporting and debunking your comment.
Your comment made me a bit curious and I did some digging. Have included the date and occasion for the different ladies donning the different tiaras. All with proper and reputable press coverage, so no “photoshop copy paste monsters”.
You are right that Princess Sofia hasn’t been seen in tiaras from the family collection in years. However she has been wearing 4 tiaras (not 2) apart from her wearing tiara.
The cut steel bandeau tiara: Nobel price banquet on the 10th of December 2016.
The four button tiara:
Kings banquet for the Nobel price laureates on the 11 of December 2016.
Napoleonic amethyst tiara:
Gala dinner for the state visit from Canada.
The Karl-Johan tiara:
The birthday celebrations for King Harald of Norway at the 10 of May 2017.
And I cannot remember another lady married to someone as “low “ as 4th in line to the throne wearing 5 different tiaras.
As for the norwegian royal ladies that you mentioned. Mette Marit is marred to the future king of Norway and even if she prefers her wedding tiara she has worn several other pieces.
The small version of the Queen Maud pearl and diamond tiara:
Wedding of crown princess Victoria 19 of June 2010
Norwegian amethyst parure tiara:
Wedding of princess Madeleine 8 of June 2013
The vifte tiara:
King Harald 80th birthday celebration.
Princess Märta-Louise is a blood royal and has been wearing several different tiaras from the Norwegian royal vaults over the years even if she seems to prefer her King Olav’s gift tiara.
The maltese cross bandeau (small setting):
Swedish royal visit gala dinner 7 of June 1993
Queen Maud pearl and diamond tiara (small setting):
For her wedding to Ari behn 24 of May 2002
The Norwegian amethyst parure tiara:
Wedding of crown princess Victoria 19 of June 2010
😊
Im sorry but i have to correct you a bit Lovisa of Sweden got the Ruby set from dower queen Josephina who was Lovisas grandmother as a wedding gift she had decided that they were the danish colors there for they must go with Lovisa to Denmark that was i 1869 when she married the later King Frederik the XIII she in turn presented them to her sons future wife and crownpricess Alexandrine in 1898 when they married who again presented them to princess Ingrid of Sweden who married her son the later King Frederik the IX she again passed them down to her grandson crownprince Frederik when she passed away she did´nt have a daughter inlaw to pass them to so they jumped a generation so the now King Frederik the X got them to pass on to his future wife who is Mary who became Crownprincess on 14th of May 2004 he presented them right before their wedding as was his beloved grandmothers wish it is allways given to the future Crownprincess witch is why Queen Margrethe the II never wore them she was the heir to the throne so she could´nt wear them she was Crownprincess but as heir not consort and they allways goes to the future consort of the heir to the throne now Queen Mary when that time comes has to present them to her son Crownprince Christians future wife that is tradition and has been for over 200 or so years now
In my opinion Mary ruined the ruby tiara with the alterations she had made. It was much more becoming as it was.
Whatever Queen Mary did to adjust the ruby tiara, it now looks magnificent. It looks flimsy before but it's now perfect. Queen Mary is very stylish, she reminds me of Catherine POW, like sisters
I think Queen Mary’s tiara is perfect for the occasion with its history in Sweden.
Maybee you are bored but - maybee the Swedish play a game of mean girls... - No you can´t have that - that's mine....
Oh, your hair with a shadow root, and a darker blonde is much more complementary to you. Sorry to say, but your current look ages you significantly. 😞
I’m going to be doing TH-cam videos in the next few years. Thanks for the heads up that people will criticize my looks gratuitously.
Queen Mary is in a league above Kate!
She happens to be ten years older...
Agreed
She is Catherine, Princess of Wales - please be respectful of her title. And I completely disagree with your comment but will not stoop to your level and try to demean the other person.
Who are you to be so judgmental about a Princess???!!!
Torturous boredom.
Princess Sophia's tiara should be renamed "the porcupine" because so many different things stick out of it,
Oh, I like that!!
@@RoyalFashionNews feel free to use it with my compliments!
I love your videos.
I find it little funny in the XXi. Century, tiaras, queens, kings, meantime people are dieing from hunger and working 100 hours per week. Forgive me for my comment, forgive me Your HRH-s….
The royal houses of Europe still exist because the majority of these populations are for the preservation of the monarchy. Plain and simple.
@@christinaj.jensen4805 They can exist and I can have my opinion….
I see you have free time to watch this.
@@Mehitabel18 Yes, is it bothering you? I hope not! I can still have compassion for others…
@@agneshegyi5785 It doesn’t appear to me that you’re enjoying the video, except as a soapbox upon which you can stand. You aren’t educating anyone - this is common knowledge. You think you’re morally superior to everyone else? Some of us have loved ones in real life or death situations - but we aren’t arrogant enough to run around preaching about it.
Princess Victoria looks absolutely stunning!
