Queen Mary does it again! The makeover of the dress was a perfectly subtle, breezy color with a gorgeous organza top that elevates the look. The tiara is stunning! Everything she has worn lately has been so tasteful. Crown Princess Mett-Marit of Norway is so beautiful and elegant. Lovely tiara, and necklace. Brittany, I loved the Ann Taylor dress linked in a previous video. You looked lovely. Thank you!!!
Aww, thank you so much Maria!! I'm so glad you liked that dress! And YES, Mary's redo of her dress is perfection!! Love the subtlety and beauty of it!! A wonderful visit for sure!!
Brittany, you have given us this week The Crown Report which was so well done and Tiara Tuesday/Wednesday giving us the beautiful way Royals represent their countries and themselves so graciously and with dignity. Thank you for all you do. . .
Can't say anything, except I'm so, so proud, of the Danish Royals. Queen Mary looked fab, and both of the official trips to Sweden & Denmark, were a lot of fun. The familiarity and the cordial smiles & hugs all round, were great to see Great video, Brittany hello from Denmark 🌸
I'd love a video on Queen Mary of Denmark's style evolution from when she was dating Frederick to now, I think it would be fascinating to see! Loved this video and this channel ❤
Queen Mary of Demark is from Scottish parents who moved to Australia and she was born is Tasmania, so both the British and Australian's both want to lay claim to her provenance. What I admire about Queen Mary is that she learnt to speak Danish and and appears to practise Danish culture, and oddly speaks English with a Danish accent.
Love it Britney, Tiara Tuesday on Wednesday, well its Thursday where I am, is my favourite channel. Loved Mary's look, and loved those Emerald Tiara's. Keep up the fabulous Royal reporting, you're my number one go to for all things Royal
Queen Mary's lilac gown looked super elegant with the organza top and the sheer overlay. I didn't know that this was the gown she wore that the Prince Carl Phillip's wedding in 2015. The more you know. The rework is great I would love it if the British royal ladies do rework on their gala gowns. The Pearl tiara looked amazing it her brunette hair.
I can’t overstate how disappointed I’ll be if we don’t get a fashion video just to see Queen Mary’s outfits from the visit! The brief glimpses from the Crown Report just wasn’t enough. My husband walked in while I was watching this and immediately recognized that I was watching Tiara Tuesday 😂
Queen Mary looked stunning in lilac with the Pearl Poire Tiara. I'd be curious to see if she wears the Floral Aigrette Tiara someday. Queen Margrethe II wore it beautifully with her hair in a French twist.
It's the crown in the Danish Crown Jewel collection. Littlerally. None of the other sets have a tiara. The coronation Crown of Christian the V (the symbol of Denmark as a monarchy) is considered regalia and not part of the Crown Jewels.
Thank you for the nice podcast! Yes, queen Mary of Denmark looked absolutely amazing! I think, I like her look even more than the one she wore at the state banquet in Sweden. This light blue/lilac gown with the pearl tiara gives some lightness and freshness as compared to the one with the golden skirt she wore in Stockholm. I also miss the British tiaras. I was disappointed to see the British royal ladies wearing some substitute headbands at the king’s coronation. I understand that it has to do with the cost of living crisis and it’s great the royals are sensitive to that, but, c’mon, when else to wear the tiaras than on the coronation ceremony?
I find it so interesting to see how the royal women are reusing or reworking their gala gowns. Queen Sonja’s coral gown has been in action since 1995! Mette Marit’s evening skirt was a rewear (I’m not sure about the jacket) and Mary’s gown was brilliantly reimagined. I’m going to make a leap and guess that she was probably happy to have the sheer fabric wrapped around her neckline because I don’t think she’s overly fond of wearing large, ornate necklaces. Just an unprovable hunch based on her track record.
Do you really think so?! I cannot see it, but I hear people say she is beautiful, so it must be me. I could never see it. Anyway, she has had a lot of work done to her face - very well done, I have to say, not too much - yet.
Queen Mary is a beautiful, stylish, quiet royal woman, who is not about flaunting the jewelry, but sharing and respecting the deep history importance for these incredible European pieces that often show what the social relationships are, bc the jewelry is an expression of the Noble, Aristocratic, Royal classes, therefore some of these pieces denote a special relationship that crosses into various households bc of alliances, marriages, honorary gifts. European jewelry is a fascinating subject to delve into. Once the Europeans stated circumventing the world, they got, collected, stole many incredible gems from Asia, Africa, India, South America and so on. Such amazing precious gems are still in sight and awareness. Most should be in a collective World museum for everyone to appreciate, understand and know about how they became the incredible historical jewel they are. So amazing. I love Queen Sonia’s exquisite Emerald parure. Gorgeous. One of my favorite jewelry ensemble in Europe. I like many, many pierces. Thx Brittany for sharing so many wonderful historical points and how gorgeous much of the European Royalty jewelry is! 👍🥰♥️
Queen Mary of Denmark is quite a woman. To be born an upper middle class child in Australia, living for a time in Texas USA as a child, and then moving back to Australia with her family. Several years later, after Mary finished college and had worked for a few years, she meets Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark who was in Sydney for the Olympic Games. They became engaged and the lovely Mary moved to Denmark and started learning how to speak Danish, which is a difficult language for a native English speaker. She not only learned to speak in Danish, she became fluent in Danish. She and Frederik had 4 children and she became Queen in January, 2024 when Frederiks Mother, Queen Margrethe abdicated in favor of her son, the new King Frederik. Queen Mary, in all her years as Crown Princess and now as Queen Mary of Denmark has never put a foot wrong and is greatly beloved by the native Danish people. Australians are incredibly proud of her, as they should be. She is Royalty done right.
Thank you for a wonderful video. You can see how much research you’ve put into it. I absolutely love this channel. There is so much ugly in the world, this is a place I can come to and look at gorgeous pieces of fashion and jewelry along with the history behind them.
There are several reasons why Mary chose the pearls for Norway: Queen Lovisa (Louise) of Denmark (1851-1926) was actually not only the mother of the Danish crown prince, her second oldest son was chosen by the Norwegians as king (= the current king's grandfather) after the dissolution of the union with Sweden. He was named Prince Carl (after his grandfather) but was renamed to the more Norwegian-sounding name Håkon VII when he became king of Norway. That is why Queen Mary wore the set of pearls during the state visit to Norway. Queen Lovisa was born - as Brittany said - as a Swedish princess and became Crown Princess and Queen of Denmark through marriage. She inherited the ruby set (which Mary wore on the state visit to Sweden from her grandmother, Swedish Queen Josefina and the pearl set which Mary wore in Norway from her mother who inherited it shortly before her death from her parents.
Queen Mary never misses! That orange dress was not my favorite especially with the emerald tiara. I love hearing about the Netherlands and their Crowns!!!! ❤❤❤ Thank you!
Thanks for the video Brittany, you work so hard for us and its much appreciated. Queen Mary's dress is lovely and personally I'm a fan of the bright orange of Queen Sonja but it is a bit OTT I get it. What do you think about a video about all the crowns/tiara worn to the various coronations, there's some amazing pieces there, not just from royalty but also from the nobility as well.
Maybe when you next come to the UK you could visit Lilly and Bennet and try on some tiaras and get some background such as how you know what style would suit you etc.
I teach a class of 6th grade girls, who asked me what their birthstones were. When one asked to see rubies, I showed them the Danish Ruby Parure Tiara. Later, when I showed them a photo of Queen Mary, she was wearing it! I think I was even more excited than my students to see that photo!
Brittany…… I am not sure of what you mean when you say a jewel belonged to “X of Co-knot”. Do you mean Connaught? In that case it’s pronounced Con-aught or Con-awt (with a lengthening of the “au” or “aw”) as per the British pronunciation of the Province of Connaught in Ireland. Of course we Irish pronounce it totally differently, as in “Cun-nocht”, from the Irish Connacht. Thank you for your historical information…… I love your channel!
Well, this was not the first of her severe mispronunciations. Also "Pearl Poiré" is still wrong, as is "Leuchttenberg", which sounds here like some weird, fallen-out-of-grace, connection to "Luxemburg" and "Liechtenstein". Not even to mention Danish designer Birgit Hallstein - constantly pronounced wrong. It's Birgit and not Brigitte for a start. And then try to go for "Hull-steyn".
It's kind of sad that there was no mention of the king's sister, Princess Astrid, who wore the Turquoise set (tiara and necklace) for the state banquet.
I have the same headband from the German version of TjMaxx, which is called TkMaxx in Germany. It's kinda funny....divided by ocean, united by shopping :)
Queen Margrethe announced her abdication on December 31 2023. However, the actual instrument of abdication was not signed until January 14 2024. January 14 is a special day for Her Majesty as it was the day of her own ascesion to the throne
Portuguese history nerd here: King Pedro was King of Portugal (Pedro the IV), but I believe he lived most of his life in Brazil, after the Portuguese court moved there because of Napoleon’s invasion of the Iberian peninsula. Anyway, king Pedro was always more affectionate towards Brazil, and it was he who declared the independence of Brazil - becoming Emperor Pedro the I, of Brazil. However, a civil war broke out in Portugal between liberals (represented by Pedro) and the absolutists (represented by his younger brother, Miguel). King Pedro returned to Portugal to fight in the civil war and the liberals won. I do believe that at some point he was king Pedro IV of Portugal and emperor of Brazil at the same time. His throne was then passed to his daughter - Maria, who became the first female reining monarch in Portugal. I believe he didn’t had any connection to Spain, as you mentioned in the video, however I might be wrong. He was a brave man, and his passion for Brazil was admirable. I’m not aware of any other heir to the kingdom of the “metropolis” declaring independence of a “colony”. Obviously this needs to be seen in the context of the late 18th century/ yearly 19th century reality. But anyway, a cool character for those times.
I mean ... it is difficult to find your ways around the Scandinavian pronunciations. Just think the trouble foreigners have with learning the three uses of the letter D in the Danish language and when to use them and when not to..
If former Prince Charles shouldn’t have decided to skip the tiaras at his coronation ceremony would TOW also participate and demanded to get a tiara she never gave back.
Well, she couldn't demand to wear a tiara and as she isn't a working royal, she wouldn't be allowed to wear one from the royal collection. Even if she was, it would STILL be King Charles' decision whether she could or which tiara she would wear. Also, she can not just steal a royal tiara. These are kept a very close eye on.
That's what I keep telling her again and again, to no avail. I get the feeling, she simply doesn't care but that puts a damper on her claimed professionalism, and her background as a historian. In Europe, when studying in that field, you need most likely profound knowledge of Latin, and/or French, English anyway, and perhaps some basic German as well. Otherwise you won't get too far. .
At 3:08 you used a black & white photo of jewels on a table taken after the RUSSIA REVOLUTION of 1917 to illustrate what Louise of Sweden may have received when she married Frederic of Denmark in 1869! As I watch the couple disembark the ship I notice how she is following behind her husband. All I can think about and laugh is how Harry’s wife would have practically knocked him off the gangplank trying to get in front of him for the photographers. 😂
The lady has always been overt attractive and when you consider she has had multiple children and isn’t a kid anymore she is darn good looking. She has always been a penny pincher of sorts but she always looked fine. She is one good woman and a lovely Queen
It’s so interesting how several of the royals in Europe ( such as Mary and Maxima) are from foreign countries but, unlike Meghan, took time to learn the rules and protocols and even the languages of their husbands’ lands. They serve their new countries with dignity and grace. I feel so ashamed that Harry chose such a poor bride, who seemed determined from the outset to not respect the tremendous role she had stepped into. What a waste. What a wastrel.
Mary is a stunning woman and rarely puts a foot wrong, king Frederick is lucky to have her as his wife

You are so welcome Joanne!! I'm so glad you're enjoying everything! Thanks for watching!!
Yes, I don’t know when you sleep!
I love the deep dive on the history of these tiaras and all the twists and turns they take through the generations
I always get glittery goose-bumps when I hear the quote at the end of your videos.
Oh me too!! It's the best!
I love your show but your voice drives me nuts, please try to talk lower. Listen to your opening. Sometimes you seem to talk lower.
Yes, I can only listen on very low volume. The opening is jarring.
Can't say anything, except I'm so, so proud, of the Danish Royals.
Queen Mary looked fab,
and both of the official trips to Sweden & Denmark, were a lot of fun.
The familiarity and the cordial smiles & hugs all round, were great to see
Great video, Brittany
hello from Denmark 🌸
Hi Zandain!! Thank you so much! Mary is doing such a great job representing Denmark for sure! Thanks for watching!!
Thank you so much. I love seeing all these ROYALS. EVERYTHING IS SO BEAUTIFUL
You are so welcome!! Thank you so much for watching!!
Queen Mary looked gorgeous. Thank you for another informative video. I hope you will do one on her outfits.
Yes!!
I'd love a video on Queen Mary of Denmark's style evolution from when she was dating Frederick to now, I think it would be fascinating to see! Loved this video and this channel ❤
Yes, will do! I already have a title for a Mary video that we’ll do! Thanks for watching!!

Queen Mary is stunning.

Loved the gauzy draped neckline. The creative makeover of the dress is wonderful.
Queen Mary is stunning and beautiful, unlike Rachel Markle

Yes!! Every woman had a rewear for pretty much the entire trip! It was a great move!!
Queen Mary has brought some beauty to the genetic mix.
Do you really think so?! I cannot see it, but I hear people say she is beautiful, so it must be me. I could never see it.
Anyway, she has had a lot of work done to her face - very well done, I have to say, not too much - yet.
You look great. Great Episode.
The European Royals sure did knock it out of the Ball Park on The state visit.
Absolutely plan a video in a tiara shop! Also Philip Treacy fascinates!🥰

Aww, thank you so much!! Yes, we all need a bit of gorgeous glitter in our lives I think! 😊
Love the lavender on you, too!💜
It’s interesting how the royal families have used tiaras with such versatility, turning them into brooches, earrings, and necklaces.
Yes, 100%!! Every lady leaves her mark on a collection, which is lovely! Thanks for watching!!
I LOVE your pearl jewelry AND your headband! You look wonderful!

I love hearing about the Netherlands and their Crowns!!!! ❤❤❤
Thank you!
Queen Ingrid is a gracious, beautiful and lovely woman and Queen. So loved! ❤
She sadly died before meeting Mary, whom Frederik had met a short time before his grandmother's death. I believe Queen Ingrid would have adored Mary.
You look Lovely today, Britney! You rock the lilac and pearl look. You do need a tiara... 👸
Would love to see Princess Catherine wear a colored tiara
Me too!!
I have the exact same headband from TJMAXX. It is so helpful on Sunday’s bad hair days. You look marvelous today.
Great job as always Brittany 😊
Some royals dress proper and have class. And some for sure cant understand how to do it or wont do it to make same kind of statement.
Looking gorgeous in lavender (lilac?), Brittany
Queen Margaret I love her she’s beautiful.
Thanks for the video Brittany, you work so hard for us and its much appreciated.

Queen Mary looks like Catherine on the Tatter magazine cover. It certainly doesn’t look like Princess Catherine
Yeah, that's a rather terrible cover, but Mary looks lovely!!
No, she doesn’t.
You look lovely Brittany❤

Queen Lovisa of Denmark was the King of Norway’s great grandmother and that is why she wore to pearl set.
Love this channel.
Hello Britany love the soft color dress in lavender the center front butten would look better closer, otherwise. You look soft and beautiful.❤
loving the blonde on you!!!!

Brittany, the timestamp 13:52 on this video I believe captures princess Margaret at the wedding. Any thoughts?
She rocks it!!!!
I have the same headband from the German version of TjMaxx, which is called TkMaxx in Germany. It's kinda funny....divided by ocean, united by shopping :)
Great video! I'm once again reminded that I will forever feel robbed by Charles' tiara less coronation, sigh.

There must be a lot of nicknames in those families lol!
I think so!!

Brittany, I love your reports, but it’s accession not ascension when a person accedes to a throne.
Ingaborg, Lockenbergh, Metty-Mareet. It is very easy to do research in pronunciation, please do so.
I mean ... it is difficult to find your ways around the Scandinavian pronunciations. Just think the trouble foreigners have with learning the three uses of the letter D in the Danish language and when to use them and when not to..
Tiaras in jewelry stores are probably targeted to bridals. I still would love to see it in a video.
If former Prince Charles shouldn’t have decided to skip the tiaras at his coronation ceremony would TOW also participate and demanded to get a tiara she never gave back.
Don’t know about that, but I would have maybe taken it if we got a sanctuary full of tiaras! Thanks for watching!!
I love your fashion videos Brittany, especially anything with a tiara. But you need to learn to pronounce the names correctly
Otherwise you won't get too far. .
I have the same head band from TJ Maxx😂😂😂
At 3:08 you used a black & white photo of jewels on a table taken after the RUSSIA REVOLUTION of 1917 to illustrate what Louise of Sweden may have received when she married Frederic of Denmark in 1869! She died 5 years before the revolution. ACCURACY IS IMPORTANT, don't you think????????????????????
Why didn't King Frederick escort her down the ramp? The way he raced on ahead
was rude
The ramp is narrow and she could trip or simply look a bit silly trying to squeeze next to him. He always walks first and plus we got great pictures of her by herself!
Mary looks amazing, as usual. However, I'm not a fan of big dangling pearls, I think pearls look best as a single strand. So the tiara is a no go for me.
I call that color Periwinkle
Crown Princess Louisa is so strange looking.
We don’t count the carats we count the centuries 🫠♥️🫶💫✨
It was a billiard table...

Brittany your button in front of the dress I still open 😥
Please, learn how to pronounce the names of the royals you're talking about! 🙄
Connought is pronounced KON ORT 😊
I wish you would learn to pronounce Queen Margrethe’s name correctly. You make it sound like there is an I in it..
Your voice was grating and I bailed out at 00:35.
Queen Mary is a Queen Freddie is a playboy
