I agree too! US Millionaire is a shell of its former self. If they can somehow convince Meredith or Regis to host a series of special 20th Anniversary specials on ABC with the original rules, original money tree, and special twists like on the UK version, I’d tune in. Also, if Meredith were to host, I think she might be very useful as a lifeline (with her being a storied journalist).

Blaze6432 Usually the American version of a game show sets the standard for other countries to follow, but Millionaire currently feels like a cheesy knockoff of the UK version. I loathe for that set and the original sounds/music to be used here in the States!
The Fastest Finger chairs are still there, just not used at this moment in time.
And there are 6 instead of 10 this time.
The U.S. version sucks compared to the U.K. version. It was awesome when it premiered and for the next 2 years, but it’s awful now. The music and sound cues aren’t nearly as dramatic as the original, the host and contestant don’t have chairs anymore, and they did away with Phone a Friend because the Phone a Friends started using the Internet to find the answers.
Unlike the U.K. version, they didn’t decide to keep the lifeline and have a production staff member present to make sure the Phone a Friends didn’t use the Internet.

I absolutely loved that "set your safety net" twist. The US version should use it.
I like the "Ask the Host" lifeline. The US version is basically a shell of its former self: mediocre music lacking dramatic effect, no chairs for the contestant and host, no phone-a-friend lifeline, the list goes on and on.

I haven't seen the US version in years. Just like with everything else, we invented it, the Brits perfected it, especially with Clarkson as the host! Shame they do not show the British version here.

Her Husband was not decisive but she was torn between 2 answers so in this case ( speaking as a Gambler since 1981 )she should not have gambled as how would she know which one of her 2 choices to go for? :)

I think she was listening to hear if her husband was sure of the answer, as in he didn't take 5 seconds to answer and answered unsuringly

You only take CALCULATED risks. She might as well as used a pin as she did not know the answer. I have NEVER got a problem with someone not knowing but her Husband said one answer and she was torn between 2 other answers so there were 3 Real possible answers so 1 in 3 ( assuming the 4th option was wrong) and terrible odds to only win TWICE your money. You are gambling 31 out of 32 Thousand Pounds to win Double the money. You lose 31 times your money if wrong on a 1 in 3 chance...
There should be a "Phone Stephen Fry" lifeline ;) Clarkson is useless !!

Oh, £32,000 is no longer a safe haven.
yes, they changed the format so that the first safety net is still £1,000 as before, but the second safety net is chosen by the contestant before the question (so for example if they have £8,000, they can set £16,000 as the safety net so that, if they answer the following question correctly, they are guaranteed that amount). In this case, she set £64,000 as her safety net, but she didn't answer that question correctly so she couldn't get there. You could theoretically set your second safety net anywhere between £2,000 and £500,000. I quite like this format, and it's definitely much better than what they did with the game on the US show (I don't even recognize it anymore).
