- These murderous psychopaths may need heavy therapy, but they certainly make their games more entertaining! For this list, we’ll be looking at prominent video game characters with an inclination towards unhinged violence and murder. However, we won't be including characters that originated outside of video games or those whose bloodlust comes from something other than their mental state, like vengeance. Our countdown includes Krieg the Psycho from “Borderlands 2” (2012), Sander Cohen from “BioShock” (2007), Junko Enoshima from “Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc” (2010), Goro Akechi from “Persona 5” (2017), and more! Eddie Gluskin… “making his brides” while Waylon Park is trapped in that locker is to this day the most horrific thing I’ve seen in gaming. It blows even the most brutal Mortal Kombat fatality out of the water
Shido is precisely why Akechi is the way he is so he's far worse.

I feel like this one deserves a second part, too many pychos you didn't mention.
Trevor Phillips and Vaas Montenegro are the very definition of villains created by society.
Idk about Vass, but Trevor for sure.
Trevor’s my favourite character but be real he’s absolutely crazy he’s no villain created by society he was a villain from birth. If not that maybe his mother idk.
Trevor i think was born crazy, where as Vaas citra said it herself: "He's a monster but he's still my brother Hoyt lured him away with money, Drugs, took a toll on his mind." But otherwise i agree

Tohru adachi should have been on here, he is so much more scary than akechi. What makes adachi scary, is that he was just a guy who was bored, and akechi just had daddy issues

Korekiyo from V3: Literally Killed 99 Women to send friends to his dead sister.
Kanade Okatonoji: Murdered 60 People, including her parents, to mold Hibiki into a willing obedient puppet
Ryoba Aishi: Killed 10 People who all had a crush on the love of her life
For those who didn't know: Ryoba Aishi is a character from the 1980's mode in Yandere Simulator.
Who knew that pancakes would help solve our Phantom Thieves betrayal mystery?
Luca Blight from Suikoden 2 should be on this list. The reason why is because his bloodthirst never ends. He slaughtered multiple villages, wages war his own country with another, sacrifices a whole town population to a monster, kill his own father, and even admitted that he's the true face of evil.

surprised albert wesker from resident evil 5 wasnt on here. he had plans to create a mass worldwide genocide so he could become a god of a new world until chris and sheva stopped him. but his intents were clear and he definitely was gonna go through with it. just the thought that he had clear intentions to doing that is scary on its own

I feel like Shido from Persona 5 is a far worse murderous sophistic psychopath then Akechi is. Especially considering how politically corrupt, selfish ,unrelenting, & sophistically evil he truly is
While Shido may be worse, he's not the one directly doing the crimes. He's manipulating everyone, including Akechi, into committing those murders.
Shido is maybe a Soziopath with no empathy for others but Akechi's mental instability combined with his missing empathy makes him, in lack of better words, a better Psychopath

Trevor Philips is probably one of the most memorable video game characters due to his... personality? Like seriously fucked in the head, funny as shit, and despite one of the options at the end of the story, un-killable, and does not care about anything or anyone except for his Impotent Rage statue. His model being made in Steve Ogg's image means I can never see Steve Ogg and not see Trevor, like when he plays a character in The Walking Dead, which he is almost as crazy as he is in GTA 5 lol

Krieg is such a cheap answer when Handsome Jack is far more batshit insane and did way worse to earn his title of Psychopath. Krieg wouldn't even be crazy without Jack. Jack deserved the spot here, or at the very least deserves to be on a second list like this.

Lynch from Kane & Lynch...killing innocent people that I thought were cops trying to stop us. While my friend playing as Kane was confused at me. Threw me for a loop of what did this game make me do. Oh, good times heh heh heh as I force a nervous laugh.

Did you not hear the narrator say that the entries have to have originated in video games? That means The Joker wouldn't qualify for this list.

That "mental state" exclusion can only apply to Kratos for his killing of this first mortal family.
All the other instances of mass murders was completely his own doing.
The whole reason why he went after Ares was "a desire for vengeance!" My goodness, how many people did he mercilessly kill just to solve puzzles in his games!?!? One of the very first things a player does in the first game is have Kratos go into the mouth of a giant creature to retrieve a key but NOT to rescue the poor dude that had the key. That alone should put Kratos in the Top 15.
After Kratos became the new God Of War, his lust for battle, mayhem, slaughter, and conquest was so out of control that the Olympic Gods tried to take him down. Kratos wanted revenge against the Gods (so called) betrayal, and he violently murdered almost all of them.
By the way, the many of the Olympic Gods were technically Kratos's family too. That means he killed both is mortal AND immortal family branches! How is that not text book psychopathic behavior!?!?!?!
Kratos should at the top of the list or at least the top five, and anyone with a lick of sense at WatchMojo ought to know that!!!
At least he has found peace in the new God of War games set in the Norse mythology where he actually tries to be a better person. He even admits that his lust for revenge had terrible consequences.

Now I actually like Trevor. Even though he is a psycho, he hasn’t really scared me because he’s just straight up hilarious. But Vaas, Vaas scares me the most even when he is funny. Whenever he yells, it has me shocked and shaking.
