Thanks Mark, I will be getting a bunch of 300 mile young ones about the middle of april. So am very excited about that. I have been watching your updates and enjoy your videos and birds very much.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I know a lot about building but have a lot to learn about pigeons. So far it has been a great learning experience, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Great video and thanks for the update! The loft is looking so nicely done that I kinda just want to send some of my birds there for a vacation LoL! Awesome job brother! I’m really happy how your loft turned out and I bet you are too! Can’t wait for the next video 👏👍🏼😁
Thanks Roland, I just got my new birds in there so I will be posting a video showing the new racers soon! Thanks for your input and for watching my friend.
So far I haven’t had any of those problems. And the holes in the wire are too small for even a small mouse to get through. There haven’t been any signs of mouse activity yet. Believe me I understand completely why are you ask.
Nice job Mike. Where did you get the breeding rack from? What is the Brand name, and cost? I am in Australia so they may not be available here. I was going to build one with grating floor and trays under, but if i can buy one it may be easier. Is there anything you don't like about it?
Hi Shane, Sorry I didn't see your comment earlier. I got the breeding rack from a breeder that was getting out of pigeons but I have seen them at pigeon supply shops for around $350. For me that seems to much and I would probably make my own. I don't like the amount of space the birds have but it is also the beauty of it because it saves room at 6' H x 2' x 4'W. I think they come from asia because I saw them in some Japanese videos www.foyspigeonsupplies.com/breeder-units/1600-four-level-breeder-unit
Sure, it’s called producers pride trace mineral salt brick. There are a few different types I think they are all good. This one is for cows goats and horses. I crunch it up with a hammer it breaks up easily into a powder and offer it to them in a separate container. It does pick up moisture because there is salt in it so you have to put a new batch maybe once a week. Good luck.
That’s a hard question to answer because I don’t know what materials you have and what tools you have. I wish I could help but I wouldn’t know where to start explaining because I don’t know your situation. Best of luck
Rocky Ridge Kennel & Loft thx. Material is not a problem. I have a circular saw and just bought a mitre saw (still I box) You had mentioned something called a “dido?” Cut. How did you make the tracks? Simply 2x4
Syed Abbas Haider Rizvi oh OK it’s called a dado Which are stacked up blades you put on a table saw to remove a wide groove in the wood with one pass. I think it’s spelled DADO. And they make them for circular saw‘s but usually people put them on a table saw. Do a quick Google search for dado blades.
The floor is 13 gauge expanded metal and the wall is a nylon screen. I think it was called deer fence used to keep deer out of peoples gardens and things like that.
Am already a fan of wooden cage vs metal cages. Good job Mike....Sweat and time paid off. Roofing idea was a clever one too.
The new loft looks great! Looking forward to see birds in it

I think you're right. I find they like it in the shadows. I think you made a good call not placing windows in your loft, they have enough light.
Thanks Roland, I just got my new birds in there so I will be posting a video showing the new racers soon! Thanks for your input and for watching my friend.
Hi thank you for sharing with us .where did you buy the skylight sheet for the roof.
Home Depot, right where they sell the long sheets of siding. Thanks for watching
What are dimensions on your loft? Super! Congrats’!
that loft is 12 x 8 thanks for asking
Where did you buy the floor grate
Please show your dog cage
Question concerning your wire floor, wouldn't feed get through attracting rodents and then things to eat the rodents?
So far I haven’t had any of those problems. And the holes in the wire are too small for even a small mouse to get through. There haven’t been any signs of mouse activity yet. Believe me I understand completely why are you ask.
With no windows in,ventilation is difficult.

Sure, it’s called producers pride trace mineral salt brick. There are a few different types I think they are all good. This one is for cows goats and horses. Lol,thats not plywood, your loft sure looks good.
What is the easiest way to make a sliding door if I don’t have a table saw?
That’s a hard question to answer because I don’t know what materials you have and what tools you have. I wish I could help but I wouldn’t know where to start explaining because I don’t know your situation. Best of luck

Rocky Ridge Kennel & Loft thx . I love harbor freight. I went for the first time and bought the admiral dual bevel sliding miter saw for 179 on sale
What gauge of wire is that?
The floor is 13 gauge expanded metal and the wall is a nylon screen. I think it was called deer fence used to keep deer out of peoples gardens and things like that.
