Yeah, I didn't add the $$ for the aftermarket either, I'm wanting to spend $$ on other things other than over priced exhaust systems. Been there done that. I'm really enjoying the "Stealth" sound of the stock exhaust, just not the heat. Thanks again!!
It's never going to end, is it?... Lol Love this stuff, our 16 is our 4th RZR. Still have 3. The XP1K will be for sale soon. Removing everything that fit's onto the XPT and turning the 1K back to stock for the most part. Momma still loves the UTVinc built '11- XP900 so we kept it. (I tried to talk her into the XP1K and sell the XP900, but she just cruises around and the ole XP900 is nice. )
Very good video very informative couple hours worth of work versus a $600 aftermarket muffler. I just had to see someone do it before I attempted it lol. Again very good video. Thanks!
Did this change the sound? Went from a Ranger 1000xp to a General and can’t believe how much louder the General is. Hoping this might make a difference.
Nicholas Moreno no I don't have any sound clips but it sounds pretty much stock. Hard to tell any difference, maybe a little bit throatier. But nothing like an aftermarket system.
Nicholas Moreno I'm not sure how it would work with a stage 2 tune. The cat gut is mainly meant for getting rid of some of the heat build up at the turbo and getting a little more airflow. An aftermarket is going to provide you with the maximum air flow but will be louder for sure.
Anthony G. nope no fuel controller needed, my rzr runs better and cooler than ever. Aftermarket mufflers are designed with out any baffles and more free flowing that what I did and fuel control or tuning is optional.
Anthony G. no sputtering, runs the same as before the cat gut, with just a slightly deeper tone and maybe a little more turbo whistle. Some guys report more low end torque, but I didn't notice that.
Chris Teixeira I'm not sure if it would fix that code but it certainly wouldn't hurt and make it breath a little easier and cooler. If you decide to do the cat gut let me know if it fixes your code issue.
It may have fixed it. I took it out for a quick ride yesterday and it didn't throw the code. Well see what happens in a couple of days when I can put a good ride in.
A catalytic converter gets hot as part of it's function. You are not gaining any measurable flow by doing this. Waste of time. Buy an aftermarket muffler if you want to make it sound better.
rcastorena thanks for the input bud, but I'm not trying to increase the sound. In fact that's why I don't want an aftermarket pipe because they are louder. I like the sound of the stock muffler and just wanted the benefits of a cooler turbo. If u watch my video all the way through, the temp readings at the end prove the results.
I just did this on my 2022 Polaris RZR xp4 1000 (Non-Turbo)
Definitely lowered the engine temp and not flashing codes.
Was it loud after the removal?
What codes were you get in before you did this mod
MaxxThrottleTV, Thank you for the video!! I also like the sound of the stock muffler. I'm done with the loud stuff. But looking for lower temps.
GregG628 your welcome! That's exactly why I decided to do this mod and didn't want to spend the big bucks to get a good sounding aftermarket pipe.

I'm wanting to do some clutching and the BMP turbo mod.
GregG628 Nice!

Any video on sound??
Did check engine light came ON???

Any difference in the way she runs now that she can actually breathe ?
Is the factory pipe, that you cut, stainless or mild steel?
It's steel, not very thick either. Just have to be careful welding.👍
MaxThrottleTV, I'd like to ask if the performance has changed after the removal? Is the engine stronger? Do you feel any change? Thanks!
Nothing real noticeable, but maybe a little better throttle response.
@@maxxthrottletv7098 Ok, thank you for your response!
Any sounds clips?
Nicholas Moreno no I don't have any sound clips but it sounds pretty much stock. Hard to tell any difference, maybe a little bit throatier. But nothing like an aftermarket system.
MaxxThrottleTV i wonder if it will work well with a stage 2 ecu tune. Cause everyone is saying a stage 2 tune needs a aftermarket slip on.

Did you have to modify the tuning? Or did stock programming compensate for the increased flow?
orangektmkid
I didn't modify any tuning. The stock tuning compensates and the rzr runs awesome!

dont do it to gain sound. i can barely tell it was done. not what i was hoping for. sounds the same as stock.
Do you think this would correct a running rich code? 15 520344 1. This has been a on going issue that has yet to be corrected.
Chris Teixeira I'm not sure if it would fix that code but it certainly wouldn't hurt and make it breath a little easier and cooler. If you decide to do the cat gut let me know if it fixes your code issue.
Chris Teixeira I'm not sure if it would unless your cat is clogged up. But it definitely wouldn't hurt to gut the cat!
It may have fixed it. I took it out for a quick ride yesterday and it didn't throw the code. Well see what happens in a couple of days when I can put a good ride in.
Chris Teixeira Right on!
Unfortunately that was not it. I was hoping it was a plugged cat.
I removed the cat and now the shop said i was also supposed to puch a hole in my baffle
Tim Waller I saw another video guy took a extended hole drill bit went right through one into the other. Sounded great too
It's literally an off-road vehicle. You can legally delete the cat

rcastorena and, you do get better air flow.
Any updates on this? Hows it running? Any engine lights?
Chris Heilmann my rig is still running strong! No codes, no issues, no overheating problems!
