What's the benefit from bringing Yoshi into the room at 10:58? Naively speaking, I'd expect it to lose roughly 80 frames because of the 2 additional powerup animations you do at the beginning to keep him. Anyway, this is a very impressive TAS; very well done. The old TAS looked pretty clean already and somehow you managed to save over 2 minutes. Actually, I have no idea where you gained all of that time - is it just general movement optimization or are some of the breaks really that much faster?
Well, the only reason i got the yoshi to the ice castle was for swag, but i didn't realize it would lose time at first. Mostly the breaks that save a lot of time, there are many small breaks (e.g 3 item juggle with yoshi at the purple room), and bigger ones, but the movement is also decently optimized, there are also many different speed strats too.
