Excellent video you have made. One minor point is to soften copper you heat it then drop it into cold water, this anneals copper and makes it soft, if you do the same with carbon steel it hardens the metal.

Solid build. Don't listen to these comment mechanics saying you windowed the wrong side or put it on backwards. They obviously never worked on these motors before

I have this same setup for my bike, with a yz65 pipe, and I’m having really bad clutch problems. I would not recommend building a performance engine on a bike berry, or any other brand bottom end. Get a Yd-100 bottom end, these engines are built like a tank and will never break.

Honestly man a good pipe would probally make way more power than just this top end kit, you should look into getting a pipe flange adapter to use either a kx60 or cr80 dirtbike pipe, a real dirtbike pipe is a way better design than the pipes they sell for these motors and the dirtbike pipe will sound so good and make insane power

    • @bubatzpirat396
      @bubatzpirat396 2 ปีที่แล้ว

These pipes are way too big for those little porttimings, it could very well be a loss. But these bicycle engine pipes are complete trash and only restrict!
But with good setups, kx60 pipes are no problem.

Deck the hp aluminum head. It will give you more surface area for the gasket. If you don't it will only have that thin ring on the head hitting the gasket. And it easily blows out. Also blue thread lock the motor side of the head bolts. And 10lbs to 13lbs to 16lbs criss cross pattern. And after a good run check torque on the head bolts. They sometimes loosen up from the heat and streaching of the bolts. And if you haven't did it yet. Balance the crank weights. You'll get almost twice the rpm out of a stock set up. Also polish the inside of the motor since you have it apart. *( or stuff the insides) Just those two things will double your hp. And if you do a Reed set up. Make sure to get an real expansion chamber exhaust. You can make one from scratch. If you have a tig welder or can braze. The ones that are pre made don't measure up to what it's supposed to be. There are apps to put in a little info. Which you'll have to know how to get them tdc rbc degrees of ports etc. Just look at yamaha yz 80 expansion chamber exhaust that will give you an idea. What size your looking for. I've actually have a yamaha yz85 expansion chamber exhaust on my 80cc build and it helps it gain 50 percent more power. It's Night and day comparsion to it to stock exhaust. And I'm just running a hp carb no reeds yet but with the nt jetting. Idles alot better. But going to do the Reed set up soon. I have the 35mm carb came on the yamaha yz85 as well. And electric blower for boats. Used as a forced air induction. I tried 50 shot of wet nos. Was insane but never sprayed the same every time. Wet- *gas and nos jet* mix your gas heavier oil mixture. Motor seems to run more efficiently once it warms up. You want just a puff of Grey smoke every now and then. No smoke then your to lean. Watch dirt bike videos you'll see them puffi g or pushing out smoke. A lubed motor can run harder faster and longer then a motor that isn't getting lubed enough. That's how you blow the rod out the bottom. Of the motor. Little secret adjust to a hotter plug to burn heavier oiled gas. It will still combust just the same. But run a whole lot better you will see. I wish someone would do a video on oil mixture judging temperature of motor, rpms, mph, and time. This should have been one of the first videos everyone should watch. And everyone says break In time. But no one says how long it is. Uaslly a mc motor has 3 stages of break on time and with out a digital rpm hour gauge yiu won't know for sure. 10, 20, 30 hours. Gas fill ups you can't go by. Everyone's will be different. No two motors run the same. Well by judging off gas fill ups. If you have a digital ohm meter yiu can make it into one. Just Google it

i broke mine in (says 100cc niome from amazon, but isnt 100cc) using 32:1 mix and always kept using 32:1 mix, when i opened my engine up for more upgrades, hehehe, everything was lubed to perfection, mind you i had some carbonation residue on the pistion itself, but yeah had that alluminium head gasket and it got burnt too but didnt fail, i ordered the proper copper head gasket hopefully this will be the last time in a while i open that engine up, i would definitely love to balance the crank, endless money gets dumped in my project, hopefully it pays off

It is pointless....The only thing you achieve is enhancing revs and keeping the powerband on the topend side which is useless with a crank that cant even handle 8000 rpm's sustained before the counterweights held on by m6 screws shears off causing mass destruction inside the crankcase....
And that the clutch wont handle the extra power and you better stock up on them or go buy a harbor freight engine remove the governor and rejetting the carb..you can even get fancy and put a torque-a-verter transmission to customize powerbands

That piston is not going to do no more performance because the openings don't serve any purpose what you need to do is cut a c shape out of the bottom of the piston on the intake side like a dirt bike would give it power

15 is a little bit much to torque that motor down generally you're not going to want more than 12 because it's cheap Chinese aluminum and running it at 15 is a good way to strip out those head bolts

Piston is in bad position - > must go to exhaust port

Piston is backwards, this shouldn’t effect any performance. It will just increase the risk of the ring catching on the exhaust port

    • @lengaming1651

Yea the arrow now points against the intake, but also look how the piston ring locating pins are on the arrow side too... Must be a faulty manufacturer

How can you tell the piston is backwards? Looking at getting one of these and doing a build so i want to make sure i do it properly

@@HangryGiant The arrow is supposed to point towards the exhaust port, while the piston ring locating pins on the intake side. In this case both were on the intake side.

The arrow doesn't mean anything but to cause drama in these situations. The piston is correct
