    The snowfield in the upper basin ... might want to bring snowshoes based on personal experience. Going up was fine, coming down it had warmed enough that post holing was a real issue. Was glad I had them and it was entertaining watching a group of 10-12 flop, roll, across it. They were wrecked by the time they got across.

    The drone footage really adds to the experience. Production quality is a drastic change from earlier videos. Love it.

    The first mile and the last very long hill to the summit were quite steep. Because of that, we have found a good number of fourteeners that were easier to hike

    I just discovered your channel the other day and I have been binge watching your videos. This one so far is my favorite. Thank you for being so informative! I have learned so much from you already. Also, juno is a tank and I loved her reaction to the snow! I am looking forward to hiking my first 14er here soon and these videos have inspired me to much! Sending love and a huge thank you from Oklahoma!

    Thank you for this!! Have been planning a trip to climb Huron and was having some doubts about the class 2 portion on the ridge, but it looks like it's very manageable. I looked for a Huron video from you about a week ago and couldn't find one. So glad I checked again! Super helpful, thanks!

    I am 52 years old. I have excepted a lifestyle change and started to take better care of myself (meaning I lost weight via changing my diet and exercising). I am setting goals for myself and plan to stay active for the rest of my life. I used to live in CO. I always wanted to climb Longs Peak. After watching your videos, Huron may be better for me to start. I plan to come in once a year, until I retire, to summit some mountains. Can you suggest a couple I should practice on before passing the Keyhole to Longs Peak? BTW I love watching your channel.

    When do you do most of your 14ers? You are always the only one on the trail which is awesome! Im sick of leaving at 3 to beat the crowds. Also...whats the song with drone footage? Love your videos!

      @TheVirtualsherpa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I told ya, I wouldn’t have the hikes to myself anymore 😂. But seriously, most of the time lots of editing and spacing when filming.

    Beautiful hike! I've heard it has some of the best views of any fourteener! What's your opinion on that? Thanks again for the always wonderful videos! Keep up the good work bro.

    • @TheVirtualsherpa
      @TheVirtualsherpa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its funny, the first time around I had strong opinions about certain peaks but I am finding that hiking them a second or third time I see things slightly differently for some. In general, I love any very secluded 14er (down south typically) and anytime the hike has snow on the mountains as well. Huron is very pretty though as long as its not super crowded. For me, that takes away from the hike.

  • @ryandehmer6109

    Hey Mickey, I hope you get this because I am having a hard time finding info on it. Are Huron peak and Mount Elbert similar views or way different? I am thinking of doing two 14ers on my next trip to Colorado that are class 1-2 that aren’t too similar. Appreciate an answer and love your channel!

    • @TheVirtualsherpa
      @TheVirtualsherpa  ปีที่แล้ว

      Huron is far superior than Elbert in my opinion but both offer great views.

    Very nice...Im a little confused tho and been looking at maps and mapping apps--Is the Lake Ann TH the same as the TH South Clear Creek (also Clear Creek South Fork TH) on the Natgeo maps. Cant find a TH labeled Lake Ann on Gaia or COTREX. Also...it looks like there is dispersed camping in that creek area, is that correct?! Thanks! (asking because will be driving / parking with a Honda CRV an curious how far in we can take that). Also I assuming there is no camping areas one on the trail, before exiting tree line?

    Great video, as always - at 5:44 you say 'came across the frozen lake' - seems a bit dangerous if one is not familiar with condition of the ice below the snow, no ?

    When did you hike it? Is it always that snow covered?

    • @TheVirtualsherpa
      @TheVirtualsherpa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically not covered in snow once July rolls around but every year is slightly different. For all of my videos, I have a hike guide linked in the description and if you scroll down to the route portion you can see the date hiked. For this one, I hiked this in late May on a relatively average snow year for us.
