im pretty sure that the melody of diabol appears in a song by koorpiklaani or ensiferum but im not pretty sure, that was my very first thought when i listen it. You should make more folk tutorials! thank u simon
Hi Simon, this is a great video, as always! Thanks! I've just bought an Irish Bouzouki to play Folk Metal. The sound I want to make is inspired by bands like Percival, Skyforger, and Arkona. I'd to like ask you a question, in the process of composing a song, how do you "blend" the melody and harmony, in the context of harmonic function? Thank you, keep it up doing these videos! (And please revisit this topic of Folk Metal haha)
Your video is very good but i think U should suggest to heard a lot and play a lot Folk music before. I play Folk celtic pagan (and others) In Brest, iti is in Bretagne in France. Before to play Real Folk muiic i had to work realy Folk music traditional (Celtic irish, scotish, Breton) Folk Nordic musiq (island, sweden, finland, and Slavic (russia, polish) and Every metal style Even medieval and symphonic can be add too (listen to FEUERSHWANZ, IN EXTREMO, CORVUX CORAX) When i sayd "play" i say Real play (in fest noz, bal tra^, irisch session, in groups, in the streets, Becaus music has to be partaged and if it is partaged you will learn and give things. The interest with folk metal (or pagan metal or medieval metal ) is that it is a crossover like classical symphonic metal : iti is the réunion of 2 styles and 2 types of making music. Lovely! Pronunciation of Diaboł Boruta should be something like "Dia-Bow Bo-ru-tha"
I would love to see a break down of the back track/ chord progression. Or maybe a dive into folkmetal construction in general.
Diaboł approves :D By the way, this melody appears also in song Epos ;)
Thanks man!

😮 What guitar is that? It's beautiful and it sounds amazing
Diaboł Boruta is pronounced as 'deeahbow boruta' and Początek is something like 'pochontek'. I hope this is helpful :)
Jakub Zdzienicki Thanks mate
Diaboł confirms ;)
