  • Flight 7 in the Cirrus SR20, and a busy arrival back into Houston. But will I ever get the hang of landing the Cirrus?

      I love that saying so much I apply this saying to so many different things in my life! I want to get my PPL however it’s so expensive. I’ve done quite a bit of ground study but one day I will have it!

    Nice LOFT vid! Thanks for sharing. Your sector handoff check-ins and readbacks are nice and tight! It's cool watching you guys chat while you still catch ATC calls without needing a say-again. You're staying comfortably "ahead of the plane." These things demonstrate so much more about airmanship than the smoothness of a landing in gusty x-winds... which you greased.
    BTW, my wife says the clay-colored Loo Review t-shirt makes me look extremely sexy, even in XXL. Thanks for that. 😎

    Very smooth Noel! I bet you were in that pattern almost as long as it took you to fly from KHYI! Cheers!

    I enjoyed this video, though there were some sound issues in the first half of the video. So, pardon me if I missed this, but do you own this plane? I love the way Cirrus planes look, on the inside and the outside.

    When planes bounce about a bit in microsoft flight simulator like your cirrus does people cry "Unrealistic!!, real planes don't do that!". Well, they obviously do. Enjoyed these last few vids

    Looks like fun. Do you own or rent the plane? Can't wait for the Loo Review. 😉

    Interesting video, you seem quite confident with ATC. Quick question, does GA also use the same ATC as commercial aviation? For instance will the control centre speak to you then also right away speak to a commercial jet 30k feet above? Great landing btw 😊

      Thank you! Yes and no. On the approach frequencies you are on frequency alongside commercial traffic. But once they're above 18,000ft they move to a different frequency, which of course is an altitude I won't usually be at!

      That makes sense, so the transition altitude in the US. Is commercial aviation something you would like to do in the future Noel?

    I have always been curious how in USA they clear you to land when there is still other traffic in front? This is different to Uk right?

    • @FlyWithNoelPhilips
      @FlyWithNoelPhilips  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is very different to the UK. 1 in, 1 out in the UK (and most of the world). Here they stack em up on approach, but always ready to go around if someone isn't out the way.

      @@FlyWithNoelPhilips maybe that’s why there seems to be so many more encroachments in USA 🤷‍♂️

    Hi, Looking for Cirrus transition training in Texas. Where did you do your transition training?

    • @FlyWithNoelPhilips

      I did mine at United Flight Systems at KDWH. There's also a place at KCXO that does the official Cirrus course which is a lot more in depth I believe.
