Are You Being Served? is a British television sitcom, this serial was original start in 1975, and end this sitcom in 2016 with season 10. This drama Are You Being Served? became very popular and people liked it very much.

One of my very favorite British comedies. They don't make them like this anymore. Saddens me to know they are gone now but thank you to them for all the laughs. RIP , you are all remembered and you are all missed.
You all seemed to have forgotten Mike Berry who played Mr. Spooner, he's still alive and kicking.
I feel sorry that so many of these great actors and actresses have left us from the show , I am glad though that I can still watch and enjoy Are You Being Served and remember them all as they were ,,,,, what a great show and what wonderful actor's and actresses,,,, thanks so much to them for making that show what it was/is .

I really watch this show almost every night. I fall asleep to aybs, red dwarf or open all hours. Aybs was filled with such talented people. They sang, danced, acted and did it all very well. Even played musical instruments. They make my American actors seen kind of bland when compared. Lol
I think the sweetest tribute to John Inman was the first scene of the show Vicious. Derrick Jacobi answered the phone in a way you couldn't help but think of Mister Humphreys from Are you being Served. Maybe I saw something that wasn't there but anyway I thought it to be a sweet tribute to our favorite menswear salesman.

One of the funny show that ever seen but I have to say my favorite was Trevor Bannister me Lucas his jokes about Mrs solcom were comedic legend
I was looking up info on AYBS and found that originally the show was to be about a young junior salesman in an old fashioned store. All of his trials with dealing with older generation. Trevor Bannister and Molly Sudgens was to share lead for the show. That’s why so much interaction between Lucas and Solcum. As the seasons passed the other actors became popular also so it became more of a variety show of interaction and not just mostly dealing with Lucas and Solcum. When Bannister was out touring with a stage play he couldn’t make it back to film more episodes. I personally think he was tired of being on back burner of the show. His part became less and less prominent. Solcum, Peacock and Humpries became the focal point with a lot of Miss Brahms.

Great comedy went from Tv to stage if memory is correct also I heard they did a " Command Performance" for Queen Elizabeth.
Great actors one and all, it's a shame that we will not see the likes of them pass this way again. Loved this show.
Some of these actors are not best known for their roles in "Are You Being Served?". Wendy Richard for example was better known for her role as Pauline in the long-running BBC soap opera "Easteneders". Arthur English was a well-established comedy actor.

How strange that that this should show up in my feed; just the other day I was thinking about this show and wondering if Cpt. Peacock and Mr. Rumbold were still alive. I grew up watching it on PBS and my father was a big fan of it, Wendy Richards was one of my earliest crushes as a kid. Great show, RIP to all of them.😥

Mollie Sugden died from heart failure
You use Nicholas Smith name twice for Wendy Richard and she died from breast cancer
Harold Bennett died at the age of 81 (I have the whole series on DVD and it said that he was 81)
Used to watch are u being served with my mum dad in the seventies and early eighties in Manchester England as a young kid I was around 8 years old thanks mum and dad for the wonderful memories I will always treasure RIP mum dad love your son Liam ❤️🌹

I was only 8 months old when the final episode the pop star was initially broadcast. But I love this show after first seeing a episode on television over 20 years ago.

Are You Being Served ran from 1972-1985 NOT 1975-2016. Please get your facts right. And they've all been dead for awhile now. There are a few cast members who are still alive. Most of the main cast members are the ones who are gone.

Mike Berry (Mr Spooner) is 80 years old and still alive. The only surviving member of the main cast.
Vivienne Johnson (Mr Graces nurse) is 77. Penny Irving (Mr Graces 1st secretary) is 68. Both alive.
Debbie Linden (Mr Graces secretary) died in 1997, aged 36, of a heroin overdose.
Doremy Vernon (Canteen manageress) believed to still be alive.
Candy Davis (Miss Belfridge) died in 2021 aged 59 from Motor Neurone Disease.
You need to Edit this better. You put "Nicholas Smith" on the name for Wendy Richard's segment. Also please learn to speak clearly and ANNUNCIATE, there is no need to speak so fast either. Learn the semantics of speaking English. Also that when mentioning age it is usually stated as 76 years old NOT 76 years. It is an accent from India. I grew up with this accent my whole life from my Father, friends of his and relatives. I do not have the accent as I grew up in the USA.
