@@TheMidnightModder Sam was saved early in his life. God took his life and said, enoughs enough, time to come home. If Sam stayed with the church, he would probably still be alive.
@@Raw-guitar Honestly that's what I was thinking as well. I can't confirm this, but I have heard many stories like this where someone was truly devoted to Christ but then went head long into a sinful life. And what happened was God took them home. Kind of like, "I've saved you, but if you aren't going to glorify me, I'm bringing you home before you mess things up even further." And that's what I believe happened to Sam. Listening to his sermons you can hear a true love of God, I really believe he was saved, but later he became a horrible influence and lead people away from Christ. And so it seems that God took him away.
Awesome interview!! Sam is cool and I love Joan Rivers!! Sad that Sam and South Park weren't able to do a show together.Cartman and an animated Kinison would of been awesome!!
look at how much looser people were back then. Imagine a comic doing this kind of material on Ellen toady? I don't think the crowd of women would be laughing.
Sam was awesome as was Robin Williams at near the same time. Both incredibly original and testing the edges. Gonna miss them and love them until I 'pass on' (thank you George Carlin!).
@@ultrashmutz93 best Genie ever! "stole a handful of bits" yeah, everybody that gets as far as he did, climbs the mountain riding other peoples back. Yes I'm making pitiful excuses for him. Let me live with the good memories of him.
See people? You can be a HUGE success in Hollywood and still act like a normal, humble person. Not full of yourself, not egotistical, just a regular person.
I commented on this video a couple weeks back when I simply agreed with "mike Davitt", when he said, "RIP Sam, best comic ever". Who knew that I would return to this video, 2 weeks later, and have to say - RIP Joan, one of the best comics ever
Its easy to miss how smart & talented people are when they're still alive. Joan Rivers was incredible! Always sharp & on her game. And of course Sam, who I always appreciated.
I agree Joan was sharp as a tack here, and to her last breath. Sam, obviously a legend now also. Your right it is so hard to believe these two are gone now.
That's why he didn't show up for the interview previously planned with her. I saw that episode. She went out to his place where he stayed, and she knocked on the door and he or his girlfriend/new wife answered the door and they were still asleep and he was either drunk or high. Joan gave it to him.
Two of the best comics. we miss them both in the stern world.. it would be so great to have one more call in of both on Howard’s show on Sirius. They really could have let loose. RIP to both true comics.
To find out the truth about how Sam drank and used coke now that he's passed away, definitely check out the book by his former girlfriend who tells what it was like living with him. Sam had a "rocktail" she explains. Vodka then a line of coke. She also says how he was so wasted from the previous night, they could not get him to wake up during the drive to his next show. He was passed out backstage when his name was called. They finally woke him up and sent him on stage, and they were amazed how he killed it like a pro. No one knew he had just come out of daze.
Yeah, the book is called "Inside Seka" -- yes, his girlfriend was the biggest sex star of the late '70s and early '80s, the porn star 'Seka'. She did a chapter on Sam Kinison in her memoirs. @@carlcraft9237
So sad, he was drinking when that truck hit him, he also did not have his seat belt on. But that accident was not his fault. I no longer hold a grudge at that cop who gave me a ticket for not wearing my seat belt.
“Drugs? Yeah over the period of my life I’ve been married twice” Lmao Genius. Joan Rivers isn’t the one you wanna go head to with though. She was Kinnison before he came along. She didn’t party but she was loud and abrasive.
He's so fucking wasted here, it's great. What a naturally gifted personality. One of those people with that hard-to-pinpoint "it" factor. He could walk into pretty much any room full of people and within minutes have them cracking up, eating out of the palm of his hand, etc. Awesome to watch.
Did you notice when Joan had Malika come up onto the stage and sit on Sam's lap, she asked her if she would forgive him if he cheated again. Malika's wide-eyed glance into his face was like saying, "You'd better NOT!" Other than that, she didn't answer the question -- not audibly, anyway. Sam was having quite a time trying to get her to speak directly into the microphone.
Watch Sam on In Living Color….just too funny. And to think he was a preacher prior to comedy…that’s funny in itself. But we lost him to a stupid and unnecessary traffic accident. I read somewhere that his brother said he was speaking to someone before he died, saying he didn’t want to go but them succumbed. I’m sure it was God and I’ll bet he’s looking down happy and laughing that we all still enjoy him to this day. RIP Sam.

Anyone else kinda sad about this fact that Sam appeared to have really loved this woman and started to turn his life around and he passed away only six days after they got married??
The Story of Sam is very unique to me. Is he the first and only former preacher that became a comedian? He was a Pentocostal preacher that followed in his parents footsteps because they were preachers. I heard he went to theological college in Florida. This absolutely puzzles me. A former preacher that dip his toes in the darkened life of sex, drugs in the bowels of Los Angeles and Vegas and just by chance he drives down a freeway in Nevada and coincidence he is the only one killed on that road. A former preacher turned to the dark side and dies from a crash. Sorry but there's something more to this story on a spiritual level that exists.
A legend. Sam was so sharp, so intelligent. He could wipe the floor with anyone verbally. We sure need him these days for levity.
he was quick and clever, but he wasn't that intelligent. dude was a serious sociopath.
I think God had enough of him on this earth xD
I miss Joan
