An induction heat portable burner and some cookware (a pot, a skillet) would serve you much better. Not only could you boil water for eggs, but for noodles and other foods. You could also steam veggies. Adding a skillet would allow you to make scrambled or fried eggs, grilled cheese sandwiches, and all kinds of other foods.
@@KimberlyGreen yea induction stoves are convenient, too bad we're not allowed to use that. I currently have a water heater, toaster, and a heating pot which I use to boil eggs.
so i have this exact cooker, except in black, and when the timer goes off on mine it makes a screeching sound that I can only describe as an alien abduction taking place in my kitchen, not this magical, cute lil song this confirms my suspicions that my egg cooker is possessed, thanks xox
If you put the hard-boiled egg yolks & the rest of the ingredients into a little sandwich bag, you can use the bag to mix the stuffing for deviled eggs. Snip off a corner to use the bag as a piping bag. No bowl to wash, and you don't have to use a separate piping bag.
I have this and I love it. I’ve only ever made hard boiled eggs though. I’ve been scared to make anything else. I love that I can put the eggs in and walk away to do whatever and the beep will let me know the eggs are done. I never worry about the water boiling out. They always come out perfectly.
I have one of these and I've found that the omelets cook all the wat through with the water lever for med-hard boiled egg. It comes out really fluffy with no condensation at all! It also helps to add a splash of milk or cream.
Yuck, when the buzzer went off you should have pressed it again. You just put too much stuff in there so that the eggs couldn’t cook. Still you should’ve just added a little more water to the bottom, and then press the button again. Just as in real cooking, you have to know science and chemistry. Some people have that innate ability ability and some people do not! It’s not the machines fault, it’s your fault that you don’t know how to adjust.
If you want a dryer Omelet (Omelette) leave the Dish inside the bubble lid for an extra two mins or so, then - the water can evaporate more and your creation can be more fluffy!
I have one of these I’ve meal prepped with it for years. Super easy, the eggs are cooked perfectly, and I have space on my stove for other things. Best $6 I’ve ever spent. I just use it for soft boiled eggs. But if you use it correctly, it’s amazing
Toaster, blender, egg cooker, coffee pot and rice cooker... those are the only appliances that I have and that’s all I want. Also I just want to say that Emmymade has tons of egg product reviews and she deserves a shoutout in this.
My wonderful sis in law gave me this egg cooker. Best gift ever! It does eggs correctly every time. I am not concerned about the look of the poached egg. It actually did it correctly, so that part of your review was not spot on. For the money it costs, which is like $20, this is the best appliance that works consistently.
You can also steam brussel sprouts in the same tray that holds the eggs. Steams fresh brussel sprouts perfectly every time. Fill measuring container halfway for brussel sprouts.
I have one of these and it works but it also sucks. The water tray gets stained and is hard to clean bc it's not removable. This area is crucial to keep clean bc that's what you are cooking with. You are using the water. If its dirty then you are eating a dirty egg. The egg stabber water cup also needs to be cleaned. You might as well pull out a frying pan or pot. 🙃
I have this thing. I love it. You have to poke a tiny hole in the top of the egg before you cook it and the cool thing is, when you dump the cooked eggs into the ice bath, which you should, a little bit of water goes in between the shell and the egg and it makes them so easy to peel. Also, I like my boiled eggs a little soft cooked and this makes them perfect every time.
I got one of these as a gift and I use it all the time, it is wonderful. It's great if you only need to make one or two eggs, if you live in a dorm, and/or if you tend to forget you're using the stove. Note: Pierce the shell while the egg is still in the carton.
I’ve had my dash egg cooker since December, I generally use it for hard boiled or soft boiled. It depends on the size of the egg as to how it comes out. I love mine, I can start my breakfast and by the time I’m Done making my lunch breakfast is ready.
These egg puns were egg-cellent They really cracked me up But my puns are egg-scrutiating Makes people feel hard boiled And dont even get me started on my cooking When I cook I feel like I'm walking on egg shells And this whole comment was just one big bad yoke
the problem with the omelet and how watery it was, is that she put spinach, bell paper, and fresh onion. all of these have a lot of water inside so if you want to make an omelet that way probably it would be for the best to not put any vegetables at all or just fry them a little bit before so they don't release their juices in the eggs. but otherwise, I LOVED the deviled egg recipe. Much love.
I actually own one of these ...I love hard boiled eggs and this machine saved my life. They are always perfect. ALSO for breakfast sandwiches? The round cup is perfectly shaped for English muffins. Love it!
I bought one of these egg cookers because I enjoy hard boiled eggs but don't have a stove. My opinion: it's works if you're not too fussy. Hard boiled works fine. I did let the cooked eggs sit in the tray for a bit after the alarm because I like them more done. Poached eggs - faster in the microwave. Scrambled - OK if you're not fussy 1 - 10 rating? I give it an 8
I have watched many videos on Egg Cookers and it always amazes me, how when they take the Hot eggs out, they take them out one by one, using something so as not to burn there fingers. When all the need do is lift the tray out with the handle and put them all at once into cold water. Or would that be to easy?
We have one. I’ve been asked, “Why? Isn’t that just a waste of money? Why can’t you just cook eggs on the stove?” See, what’s so great about it is that it frees up the stovetop. And it’s quickly becoming one of my 14-year-old son’s favorite kitchen tool, with how easy and fast it is to cook with.
I love this girl's vibeee and laugh is soooo cute...she looks like a curvier version of Emilia Clarke....I just noticed that and so pretty and bubbly....😍😍😍
I suspect the amount of water was not enough to properly cook the omelet. I'm not entirely sure why, but it seems like different locations need different amounts of water to get the same results. I can understand that for differences in elevation (mountain will be different than sea level locations), but that doesn't seem to be the cause. It could just be differences in each appliance. It's just best to pay close attention to water levels in the cup and adjust the level to get the results you want (more water, longer cooking time; less water, shorter cooking time). As far as the poached egg goes, keep in mind that unless you immediately drop the poached egg into ice water IT CONTINUES TO COOK, solidifying the yolk. The whole point of poaching an egg is having the whites cooked and the yolk still runny. Steaming as a poaching technique means the outer surface seals the egg, so it's fine to put into ice water; the contents of the poached egg cannot get out. Also, if the whites seem too tough, use a smidge less water and DEFINITELY put it in ice water immediately after cooking. The more the egg cooks, the more solid (tougher) the whites will become. Less cooking, more tender the whites, so ice water to stop the cooking is imperative. What's a shame is that this video doesn't showcase how this egg cooker can be used to steam-cook other foods, extending its utility beyond just eggs. Veggies, raw/frozen shrimp, frozen pasta-wrapped ethnic foods (dim sum, pierogies, ravioli) can be cooked in the egg cooker omelet pan (or any pan that will fit on the boiling tray and under the dome). It can be used to reheat things like soup, fried chicken, burger patties, or leftovers. It was a revelation to me to learn I could pop some frozen gyozas or some frozen peeled shrimp into this device and in short time have a meal! No big pot of water, no greased pan, just a tiny round steaming dish to clean after cooking! Tasty's subscribers would have found this info a real service and Dash would have loved the uptick in egg cooker sales.
