    2nd comment I would definitely buy an expensive photo camera for close-ups of that at all different angles for photo poster prints etc etc. That looks amazing, one of a kind piece of art from your mind to reality, I love it, just thought you could profit from prints and such take close ups of it :>) Take care everyone.

    This is very cool. If the film was on the glass, after you let the resin cure, were you cutting through the glass? It’s hard to know exactly how you did this since you aren’t speaking. I would love to try this.

    • @PourAwayFluidArts
      @PourAwayFluidArts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was only on the glass to ensure I poured enough resin to cover it. I only cut through the resin.

    I am new to resin art. I have a question. Will the resin stick to the mirror, or will it fell off? Must I prepare the mirror first? Sorry for my English, I am German. Thank you for your beautiful art and inspiration. It's absolutely stunning.

    • @PourAwayFluidArts
      @PourAwayFluidArts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Epoxy sticks well to glass. It'll be fine. It does peel off plastic and coated aluminum etc, which can be useful. I've never had it peel off anything by itself though. It has always taken a bit of effort.

    I didn't see a link to where you got the window film was it just Amazon holographic window film I've seen this in another video and I'm wondering if I could put it down in a silicone mold like you lay a layer of it down and use the mold to cast resin with I wonder if it'd be reusable though

    • @PourAwayFluidArts
      @PourAwayFluidArts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure on the reusable... I've seen people make silicone molds using it though, so that might work. Yes just purchased from amazon... Rabbitgoo or something?

  • @amethyst1826

    The resin was 'wicking' under the protective film - is this another word for seeping?
    It's like a funky tortoise shell, only flat!

    • @PourAwayFluidArts
      @PourAwayFluidArts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kinda similar yeah. It is a bit like a tortoise isn't it. 🐢 Maybe I should change the name to space tortoise...

    I think it would have been more elegant with plain black borders.

    • @PourAwayFluidArts
      @PourAwayFluidArts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok... But it's on a mirror so that those ribbons of color shine like lamps in a dark sea of black. That's the contrast I was looking for...

    Hello artist You can say the name of that hologram sheet Where can it be obtained?

    • @PourAwayFluidArts
      @PourAwayFluidArts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We call it window film. It's used for privacy and should be available in some hardware stores. You can also search online for it or for diffraction grating or holographic film.

    Why did you use a mirror

    • @PourAwayFluidArts
      @PourAwayFluidArts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The resin in the gaps is transparent. Light bounces off the mirror and it looks cool ...
